| Story Recap | Characters & Chapters

Since it has been four months since this book was last updated, I'm doing a little recap chapter so people who have already read it don't need to reread it if you don't want too.

So basically I'm gonna be going over important details and recapping events that happened that are important. I won't explain every single detail of the chapters, you'll have to reread the chapters to get that, but I'll be highlighting things I want you guys to remember as important with a few things that don't mean a whole lot to throw you off the scent because I'm just mean like that.

I'll be talking about the characters as well. I'm highlighting the characters because Jordan, Adam, and Ty are three characters that I feel like have been misunderstood by you guys. And that's more my fault since some of the things I've hinted about them have flown over all of your heads.

Sorry about not updating this story, but I've been fixing the plotline for this book. This story will be getting updates again soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
End of an Empire takes place in a world called Etora and is set during the Middle Ages.
Definitions: (to make things easier for you guys)
Protagonists- Characters that drive a story, characters that drive the plot forward. These are the characters that the author considers the most important and the main focus of the story as a whole
Antagonists- Characters that stand against the characters driving the story and are not necessarily always evil, but they typically stand in the way of the protagonist achieving their goal
Supporting Characters- Characters that support either the protagonists or antagonists. They are usually near-protagonist or antagonists themselves but aren't considered the main drivers of the story. They typically do the background work that isn't seen by the audience or have a smaller role that still impacts the story in a small way.
Ancillary Characters- World-building characters... typically these are the 'background extras' or one-to-five line characters. They flesh out the world and help it come alive.
CHAPTER RECAP
| Chapter One | Peaceful Time End
The first chapter was really an introduction between how life was good before, how Sky's life was before he knew who he really was. He had a simple life, living with Ian's family as a kinda a foster kid. He lived in Hazia, an Estronian Village that is on the other side of the Elder Heights (A Mountain Range).
Besides the introductions of characters, we met Ian's family. His mother and father, Serena and Jared. Upon returning from a hunting trip, Ian and Sky came home around 7 at night to see dinner is ready. During the dinner, Ian noticed Sky was in his own head a lot, which wasn't something that Ian saw as rare since Jared outright talks about how Sky is almost always in his own head.
Sky leaves the table after losing his appetite from the conversation they were having at the table and his own thoughts as well. When Sky leaves, Serena leaves too. He goes upstairs to his room and the conversation between the two, Sky asking Serena about his real parents and getting no answer from her, makes Sky leave the home altogether. Once Sky left, Ian ran after him.
When they turn to return to home after Ian convinced him, Hazia is attacked by Skaldian soldiers.
Their house on fire, Ian runs inside to try to get his family out. Sky goes after him. Sky injuries his right calf, his hands, and get smoke inhalation. Ian burns his back and gets smoke inhalation too. Sky pulls Ian out of the house throw a window before he passes out.
| Chapter Two | Estron Royalty
In this chapter, Ian is the first to wake up to find himself on a cart heading to the capital city. Between Chapter One and Chapter Two, Estron has received word of the attack. Prince Tyler "Ty" Ellis and a small force of soldiers went to the village to help. Ty ordered all survivors to be brought back to the city for treatment.
Ian woke up in a cart laying beside Sky, who is unconscious still as a woman tends to his injuries. Ian meets Prince Ty on the way to the city, getting the impression that the prince is exhausted and in a bad mood. But after the prince rides on ahead, the woman emphasizes to Ian that the bad rumors that surround the prince are untrue and he is a good man.
Ty is the second eldest of three making him second in line for the throne of Estron. Ty is known for his good deeds at sea during the Decade War. the prince prefers to be at sea. He's perhaps the best naval captain in the world and is a feared force on sea. Ty was docked after the events of the Decade War which is part of the reason the prince was in a bad mood.
When the convoy makes it to the city, Ian notices how the prince breaks off from the convoy to talk to some people in front of a tavern. Ian gets out of the cart to ask him what is going on, but he is introduced to Ty's crew instead.
Ty's first mate, Linda Adams, and shipmate, Mac, as well as two more unnamed crewmembers. Ian is taken aback at Linda being the first mate of a crew, but Ty expresses his deep trust in her. Ty knows that he can depend on Linda to take care of the crew whenever he needs to take care of his princely duties.
After Ian asks Ty too many questions that Ty never gives a straight answer too, Ty yells for a soldier to take Ian to the palace.
After Ian is taken away, Ty leaves to get back up to the head of the convoy and runs into his father's bodyguard, Derick Flynn. Derick informs the prince that the king wants to speak with him once he returns. But Ty expresses his displeasure at the news. The readers are hinted at an incident that happened three times during the Decade War that was the main reason that the Prince was docked. Derick brings up Ty's and King Nathan's troubled relationship, hoping the Prince would make an effort to fix it but Ty shows no interest in mending the broken relationship.
Prince Zachary was brought up in their conversation. Prince Zachary is Ty's older brother and first in line for the throne. Prince Zachary is in charge of the on-ground forces while General Maron is temporarily unavailable due to personal matters. But for the three months that the General has been gone, Ty has been the one keeping the on-ground forces organized while Zachary doesn't take the request from the General seriously.
When they finally get to the palace, Ian meets King Nathan. King Nathan knows Ian's parents which confuses him since he's never met him. This is also when Ian sees the dysfunctional relationship that exists between Prince Ty and King Nathan. King Nathan has Sky in the palace infirmary, being cared for by Vega, a trusted healer of the kingdom.
The chapter ends with Ian meeting Prince Zachary.
| Chapter Three | The Royal Captain's Crew
Chapter Three takes place three days after the last chapter.
Ian woke up in the infirmary to hearing the commotion that Sky had caused after waking up confused and freaked out. Sky woke up for the first time, he's been closely monitored for the last three days and has shown waking but not the type of waking up that is considered to be fully awake.
The situation is explained to Sky, but Sky was too worried about Falicia, a close friend of his, and what happened to his hands and leg to listen to the complete story. Ian has to calm Sky down when Sky starts off into a coughing fit from his damaged lungs.
After a brief visit from the King, Ian goes out to look for Ty to see if the prince saw Falicia at Hazia and if she is alright. The readers then learn the importance of Falicia to Sky through Ian's thoughts as he searches the palace for the prince. His search ends when he meets the youngest of the three royal siblings, Princess Hallie. The Princess's servant tells Ian to try the pub in the lower town since that is where the Prince's crew normally is. And if the prince isn't there, ask Linda Adams.
Ian goes to the pub and recognizes it as the same place that he met some of the crew the first time he arrived here. He enters the pub, learning from a very drunk Mac that the Prince had left for Shia and Haiza a few minutes ago. Shia is another Estron Village that was claimed from Skaldia during the Decade War. Shia was attacked just like Haiza was.
Ian also learns that the Prince has recently been given his sea privileges back after Linda ordered the crew to make sure their ship was in tip-top shape for the Prince when he returned since they plan to leave once Ty returned.
Linda and Ian both go outside to talk. Ian learns how Linda became Ty's first mate. Learning that she has known Ty since he was a little kid and fueled the prince's love for the sea from the start. He also learns that the real reason that Sky and him are in the city is that the King sent Ty to rescue Sky and Ian and bring them to the palace for protection. Ian also learns that Ty doesn't know the reason as to what makes Sky special but Linda knows. Linda never tells Ian the reason.
Their conversation was interrupted when a hooded figure came through the gate and stopped by them. Linda showing her joy upon seeing them. After getting a hug and acting pretty friendly, the figure leaves to go to King Nathan. Ian noted the Estron emblem on the cloths that hung from underneath the saddle of their horse giving the Ian the impression that they are important. He learns that the figure has been gone for three months and that the King summoned him back to the palace.
After the figure leaves, Linda is shocked to see that Ian has no idea who that was and tells him asks him who the General of Estron's army is. After two wrong answers, Linda just tells him.
The figure was General Jordan Maron, nicknamed the Guardian of Estron, Jordan was one of the three main generals during the Decade War. Hailing from the famous Maron Family, the Maron Family is a family of war heroes...and of traitors as well. Jordan took the position of General at 19 and has been the General for the past sixteen years. Jordan is the last descendant of the Maron bloodline. Linda and Jordan have been friends since they were teenagers.
We also learn that Skaldia's General, General Jason Probst has been missing for the past three months. The Decade War only ending three months ago.
The chapter ends with the two walking towards the gate to wait for Prince Ty to return.
| Chapter Four | General Jordan Maron
This chapter highlights Jordan and is a major story reveal chapter that I recommend rereading since a lot happens in this chapter that is important.
The chapter starts with Jordan entering the palace courtyard where the readers get a proper introduction to the general since I didn't want to introduce Jordan at the end of the last chapter.
The readers learn that Jordan is one of the top generals in Etora. When the General enters the courtyard and lowers his hood, there is a visible sense of relief from the guards and everyone around him. After the King had announced that Jordan was on some much-needed vacation time after the Decade War, the people of Estron have been worried about the General since he has been gone for three months.
Jordan only returned after he learned about the attacks on Shia and Hazia and the King sent a summence to the General as well. Jordan runs into Prince Zachary when he enters the palace, telling the prince that he is here to stay and thanks the prince for taking care of the army while he has been gone.
Jordan then goes to the infirmary, to see if the King's claims of Sky being taken to the palace are true. Once Jordan sees Sky, he sees the King is here as well. The King tells Jordan that the job that has been put on hold is finally here and Jordan accepts it. Jordan accepts being Sky's bodyguard until the job is done.
After that, they go to the King's office. Along the way, the King makes sure that Jordan calls Sky 'Sky' and not by his real name. Sky is the name that Sky knows and that Serena and Jared called him suggesting that Sky is a nickname and not his real name after the readers were only ever introduced to him as Sky and never anything else. The readers also learn that while Jordan has been gone, he been looking for someone or something. All of his leads have taken him to Shivoa, which he has yet to go to.
Jordan learns that Prince Anthony is coming to Estron personally to apparently 'apologize' for the attacks. The King orders Jordan that if something were to happen during the meeting, the general must abandon the King and take Sky out of Estron immediately, saying how Sky is more important. The readers also get an inside look at the relationship between Jordan and the King, seeing them talking more like old friends rather than General and King suggesting a close relationship between the two. But the readers also get to see the relationship between Linda and Jordan as well.
The readers also learn that Jordan came out of the Decade War with a possible permanent knee injury that hasn't healed properly and causes the General pain. Also, learn some of the views Jordan holds on his family.
They were interrupted when Derick came in, telling the two that the Skaldians have arrived. Jordan and the King make their way to the throne room while Derick goes to the infirmary to guard Sky.
The readers are introduced to Prince Anthony Skylen, heir to the throne of Skaldia, and is currently in charge of the on-ground forces after Skaldia's General disappeared towards the end of the Decade War. The readers learn that the Skylen Royal bloodline is special like the Maron bloodline is. Anthony's gifts are kept a secret from the readers however and are only told his elite fighting skills and good leadership skills...and his twisted mind that is just like his father's.
Anthony is shocked to see Jordan is here but seems pleased to see the general. Jordan notices the blood on the hands, clothes, and weapons of the Skaldian troops and the prince suggesting they have been busy making the general on edge.
After talking for a while, there is an attempted assassination from one of the Skaldian archers that Jordan easily blocked making the Estron guards act and guard the King. The Prince expresses his displeasure for seeing the General here and had hoped not to run into Jordan at all. But was prepared if he would have.
The readers then learn that before Prince Anthony and his soldiers came to Estron, they launched a surprise attack on Prince Ty and his convoy. Prince Anthony showed Ty's bloodied green and black headphones, saying how Ty is in Hazia and put up a good fight until Ty was shot off his horse by a Skaldian archer. It's learnt that Anthony has captured Hazia and Prince Ty.
The readers learn that the only reason Skaldia kidnapped Ty was to keep King Mitchell Hughes and Master Seto Azdel from aiding Estron. Seto aided Estron and Shivoa in the Decade War of his own will, but break mage laws by helping the humans and has been under arrest since the end of the war. The readers learn that Skaldia is afraid of Shivoa, that King Izic wants to avoid confronting King Mitchell at all costs and has already tried to kidnapped Mitch's daughter but failed since she is out of reach and is heavily protected.
But Prince Anthony is willing to do a trade. The trade being that Prince Ty will be returned upon getting Jordan to leave Estron to become Skaldia's General. Jordan takes the offer but the King stops him by telling the General to leave to go protect Sky and to take him to Shivoa.
The chapter shifts to Linda and Ian, who are still waiting by the gate. But Linda is visibly concerned that Ty hasn't returned yet. Jordan comes to the two with a horse and covered wagon, Sky, and Vega inside. Vega is tending to Sky inside the wagon.
After telling Ian to stay outside, Jordan and Linda go into the pub to get the crew. Jordan plans to go rescue Ty before heading to Shivoa. Linda notices that Jordan is limping as they go into the pub.
The chapter ends with Jordan, Linda, Ian, Sky, Vega, and the crew leaving to head to go rescue Prince Ty.
| Chapter Five | The General's Injury
The chapter begins with Jordan, Ian, Vega, Sky, Linda, and the crew heading towards Moonlit Jungle after Ian gave Jordan directions to a good spot to hide and close to Hazia as well.
After they stop to take a quick break, Linda goes into the wagon to talk to Vega. She asks her is Jordan had gotten injured during the Decade War beyond the injuries she was told and Vega says no.
Linda tells her about Jordan limping which Vega noticed as well when Jordan was getting her and Sky out of the palace.
The readers are also introduced to another member of Ty's crew, Noah Craft (NoahCraftFTW). Noah's from Isora City and is new to the crew so he still has an attitude towards authority, mostly Jordan.
They come up with a plan of how to get Ty out of Hazia and maybe even rescue the remaining residents of the village since Jordan wants to avoid a confrontation. (Read the Chapter for the full plan since it is a pain to rewrite it)
Jordan and Mac succeed in getting a uniform and Mac puts it on. But right after he does, Jordan's leg injury gets the better of him and his knee locks up.
The chapter ends with his pained cry alerting the guards and Jordan getting captured.
| Chapter Six | Trapped in Hazia
The chapter starts with Noah telling Linda and the others what happened to Jordan and him getting himself captured.
Linda goes over to Ian, who is helping Vega tend to Sky's burns. Linda asks him if he is willing to help them in rescuing Ty and Jordan since Ian knows Hazia. But Ian rejects it out of his concern in protecting and helping Sky which flares a heated argument between Ian and her.
The readers learn from Linda that would tell Ian was Sky is so special but she knows he would never believe her. Jordan and her have an obligation to protect Sky and only Sky and nowhere in that was an obligation to protect Ian at all. Ian is just extra baggage that isn't needed and can be tossed aside at any point in time.
The argument is stopped when Sky pushed them apart, the two noticed that Sky's hands are bloodied and left blood on their clothes. Sky convinces Ian to go help Jordan and Ty.
The readers learn the aftermath of the village, what was left behind after the raid, which isn't a lot. The survivors, Ty, and Jordan are being held in the center of the village, in the church.
The readers learn how injured Ty is. Ty is unconscious and has an arrow in his left shoulder and another arrow in his left thigh. He also has a blow to his head with blood covering half of his face. The villages have been trying their best at caring for the injured prince but they can only do so much. Falicia is the one doing most of the care.
After seeing Jordan struggling, Falicia helps unlock Jordan's knee so he can walk again. Beyond being introduced to a Skaldian Captain, the readers also get a better look at Prince Anthony. Jordan learns that Anthony is aware of Sky but doesn't know why he is important or who he really is.
The readers learn that Sky isn't Estronian and isn't from Hazia.
The readers also learned that Master Seto's trial was yesterday and yet never showed up for it leading many to believe the wizard is off helping King Mitchell or King Nathan. We also learn about Seto's companion, Brice Solace and Seto's close connection with Estron. Also how hard it is to keep track of the wizard as well.
The chapter ends with Falicia telling Jordan that she doubts Ty will live much longer as Prince Anthony prepares to move everyone back to Skaldia.
| Chapter Seven | Grasping At Straws
The chapter starts with Prince Ty waking up for the first time in the wagon heading towards Skaldia. Before he woke up, a Skaldian guard removed the arrow from Ty's shoulder making the prince start to bleed out and Jordan putting pressure on both sides of the prince's shoulder.
After some panicking and trying to figure out what to do, Jordan breaks off the arrowhead off of an arrow and pushes it back into Ty's wound to stop the bleeding.
The three are rescued by Seto and Brice, who take advantage of the situation. Prince Anthony stops his men from going after Jordan, Mac, Ty, and Falicia since he knows it was Seto who rescued them and they stand no chance against the wizard.
Stealing three horses, the four leave, heading back to Hazia to meet up with the others. But on the way back, Seto and Brice catch up with them. Jordan immediately noticing the metal braces around Seto's wrists.
The readers learn more about the investigation into Seto's breaking the magic laws in order to help Shivoa and Estron during the Decade Wars. Seto has shown a display of disinterest in the investigation, stating outright to the Council that he helped the humans because it was the right thing to do and hates how it is against the law to help the humans.
But through Seto, the readers get a glimpse into the harsh reality that is surrounding Shivoa right now and that it is not a good one at all. Shivoa has been put in a very bad spot that might actually leave the kingdom to fall unless something can be done about it which of course alarms Jordan and them. This is also when the readers are properly introduced to Seto and to Brice as characters instead of just though the dialogue between the other characters.
The chapter ends with Falicia checking in on Prince Ty, who isn't doing too good.
| Chapter Eight | A Broken Friendship
The chapter starts with Ty waking up to Vega treating him. Between the previous chapter and this one, Jordan and them met back up with the others and got Ty into the covered wagon for treatment from Vega. They waited a few minutes before they decided to head to Hazia. Hazia being abandoned by the Skaldians and leaving behind only the villagers.
It was at this point that Ty is more competent, meaning he is not completely stuck in his injured haze and can actually function to a degree. The readers find out that Ty knows why Sky is important but does not know why his father was so interested in him. Falicia asked Ty as to why Sky is important but when Ty was going to answer, he's cut off by the pain that catches up with him and nausea providing the readers with no answers once so ever.
After Ty lays down to rest, Falicia tells Vega about Jordan's knee locking up. Jordan overhears their conversation about his knee and through his thoughts, the readers learn what actually happened to his leg.
During Jordan's three month vacation, Jordan tried to get help for his leg, but there was nothing that could be done for it making him give up on it. He never told Linda because he didn't want to worry her since she is already worried about him for a different reason, he didn't want to add more to her plate.
After returning to Hazia with everyone, the focus now is to care for the villagers, Ty, and Sky. But after getting the two inside the church, Vega tries to talk to Jordan about his injury but gets nothing of value.
Vega's interrupted by Linda, who wants to talk. She tags along with Jordan as he brings the horse and wagon to be put away in a stable. As they unhook the horse from the wagon they talk or more of Linda talking at Jordan.
Through their discussion, the readers learn more about the Maron Bloodline and Jordan's hatred towards his family's past.
We learn that when Jordan tried to get treatment for his leg injury, the people he went to just told him that it will heal on its own because he is a Maron and he doesn't need treatment for it.
We also learn that in the past, Jordan tried to live up to the expectation of his family name, but overtime, the toll from it on his health from it almost killed him. It wasn't until Jordan's health went from bad to almost fatal that Jordan started listening to Linda. (Read the Chapter for their full argument because it is hard to scale it down without just rewriting it entirely).
Their argument ends with Jordan snapping at her and Linda storming off.
The Chapter ends with Vega telling Jordan and Linda is right. But Jordan disagrees in that the person that his friends don't want him to be is the person that everyone else wants him to be.
| Chapter Nine | Prince Ty's Injury
This chapter starts with yet again, Ty waking up, but this time he woke up able to move his limbs without pain and sits up finding himself in the church. His crew, seeing he is awake, immediately goes to him.
This chapter is more about Ty's and Sky's recovery. The two important things in this chapter was the argument between Jordan and Noah and Jordan's conversation with Mac about Shivoa.
The readers learn that Shivoa's General, General Rob Wolfe (Mr. Woofless), is an Elemental Ice Mage. But Rob isn't seen as a wizard in the eyes of the Magic Council because of Rob's allegiance to King Mitchell. We also learn that Rob isn't seen very often as well making him a mysterious person that many know not to mess with. We learn that Rob was Shivoa's General during the Decade War and Colonel Lachlan was in charge of Shivoa's Navy during the Decade War.
We also learn that the magic community has always been neutral in everything and never have place allegiance to any kingdom due to the war that is taking place with the dark mages. But there is a suspected alliance between Laenadur and Shivoa Kingdom.
Jordan tells the others about what Seto told him before the wizard and Brice left to head back to Shivoa. The readers learn that recently, the Magic Council had sent light mages to protect Shivoa from dark mages that were accidentally pushed towards the kingdom by the light mages. The Council values Shivoa's trust and fears that them pushing the dark mages to attack the kingdom may angry King Mitchell and cause him to lash out towards them. It is learned that the only real safe place left is Avalon City.
But Noah disagrees in saying that Isora City is also safe but Jordan also disagrees.
The readers learn that Jordan and Linda both don't trust Isora City because of it having a dark history. Jordan and Noah get into a heated argument which is broken up by Ty. But the strain takes a toll on the prince and they start to notice that Ty is getting sick due to the terrible conditions around him.
The chapter ends with Jordan deciding that taking Ty to Citis, an Estronian Village, is the best thing for the prince.
| Chapter Ten | Mending Relationships or at Least Trying Too
The chapter starts with Sky and Jordan talking as they all make their way to Citis to get Ty treatment. This is a chapter I do recommend rereading btw.
Jordan admits that even though Prince Anthony is on the opposite side, the prince is a great leader.
But Jordan reveals who Sky really is and why he is so important. He reveals that Sky was supposed to be the current King of Skaldia, not King Izic who stole the throne.
Sky's father, Prince Elliot Skylen, was first in line for the throne of Skaldia until an unfortunate accident caused his death before he could ascend. Sky learns that Prince Elliot was a respected man who strived to create peace between the three kingdoms. King Izic, Prince Elliot's younger brother, took the throne and was only supposed to hold onto it until Sky was old enough to take it for himself. But King Izic had aimed to kill Sky so he could keep the throne for himself.
The readers learn that King Nathan Ellis, King Luther Hughes, King Mitchell Hughes, Prince Ty, Master Seto Azdel, Brice Solace, Linda, Ian's parents, and Jordan were the only ones who knew Sky's real identity and worked hard to ensure that Sky is kept safe at all times. Sky learns that Seto has always been looking after him and making sure that he was safe at all times.
Sky puts the pieces together in what Jordan wants him to do and immediately rejects becoming a king. The readers also learn Sky's real name, his real name being Prince Adam Skylen.
The chapter ends with them arriving at Citis and Jordan trying to make amends with Linda but it ending horribly. Linda convinces Jordan to get his leg checked out by a doctor at Citis with her in the room.
| Chapter Eleven | The Last Straw
The chapter starts with Jordan's leg being check on by a doctor at Citis.
After the doctor leaves to quickly go check on Prince Ty, the two get into an argument that leads to Jordan revealing how much the Decade War messed with his mind. (Recommend rereading their argument because Jordan does reveal a lot to Linda because he finally had it with trying to fix their friendship).
Jordan, not wanting to be anywhere near Linda anymore, decides to leave Prince Ty and the crew behind and take Ian and Sky to head for Shivoa.
After Jordan leaves, Ty vetoes everything Jordan just said knowing the general only said it out of anger.
The chapter ends with Ty sending Noah out to keep an eye on the general.
| Chapter Twelve | Being King
The chapter starts with emphasizing a part of Sky's personality that has been seen before. Sky's quiet and doesn't talk a lot which can tend to irritate Ian at times.
But Sky and Ian are in a covered wagon with Jordan as the driver. The two start talking about and one of the main things they talk about is Sky not wanting to believe what Jordan had told him about Prince Elliot and King Izic and his true origins. Ian works hard on trying to convince Sky that being King might not be as bad as he might think but Sky disagrees. Ian also mentions Falicia, knowing she is a weak point when it comes to Sky.
This chapter is more highlighting Sky's doubts and Ian and Jordan trying to convince him. Learning about Sky's life in the village and a lot more as they make their way to Avalon City.
I recommend rereading this chapter for the backstory.
| Chapter Thirteen | Avalon City
The chapter starts with introducing the city to the reader. Avalon City is a port city, a trading city that is full of vendors and all different types of people. But due to the Decade War and its aftermath, the docks are currently closed while the city repairs.
When Sky and Ian are busy admiring the sights from the wagon, a figure jumped up and sat on the driver's seat right beside Jordan.
The readers are introduced to Thomas "Tom" Syndicate, Jordan's best friend. Through Tom, the readers learn that Avalon took a heavy hit from the Decade War. While Jordan learns that Skaldian soldiers have been sighted in Avalon City and looking for Quentin, a man that Jordan is looking for.
Introducing Sonja "Sonj" Foxx (OMGitsFireFoxx), one of Jordan's friends.
Jordan takes Sky and Ian to a home that is owned by Tucker and Sonja, two good friends of the General. Sonja cares for Sky's injuries.
The Chapter ends with Sky telling the General that he should rest and relax since he saw him limping again.
| Chapter Fourteen | Tom & Tucker - | Chapter Fifteen | Quentin & Shelby
Chapter Fourteen and Chapter Fifteen are chapters that are just introducing the characters Jessica "Jess" Hart (Aphmau), Quentin Juneau (HuskyMudKipz), Tucker Boner (ii_Jerciho_ii), and more YouTuber Characters (Yes, this book does have a lot of YouTubers in it). The two chapters were more of a break from the main storyline for a bit. They are about Tom and Tucker taking Sky and Ian to a bar while Jordan is resting at Sonja's house and how it goes downhill quite fast.
Chapter Fourteen gives a better look into Sky's personality while Chapter Fifteen is more of a look into how Shivoa is doing.
Jordan learns that the situation at Shivoa is worse than he thought it was. Jordan learns that King Mitchell ordered an evacuation of his kingdom and the town Fadea as well. The Magic Council letting the refugees be house in Laenadur while they help King Mitchell try to regain control over Shivoa from the Dark Mages. Jordan receives a letter from Quentin that was addressed to him from King Mitchell. The letter talks about needing aid and help. Quentin decides to come out of retirement to help Jordan in this fight.
Quentin tells Jordan to meet him outside of Ivory Woods in two hours and he'll get quick transportation to Shivoa Kingdom.
The chapters ends with Jordan giving Shelby a letter to deliver to Prince Ty.
| Chapter Sixteen | Dan Middleton
This chapter introduces a character that a lot of people had been requesting to be in this book since the start of it. Daniel "Dan" Middleton (DanTDM). Dan's role in this book is almost like every role in my book, he is the crazy inventor that values his inventions more than anything and loves pushing the limits and doesn't care how dangerous it is.
He gives Jordan and them new gadgets, like swords, shields, portaling devices, and more. But the readers learn that King Mitchell had a portal room in his palace until he ordered its destruction. Dan leaves, saying he will meet Jordan at camp.
The chapter ends with Jordan opening a portal to the Nether.
Recommend rereading this chapter mostly because Dan's dialogue is funny.
| Chapter Seventeen | The Battle of Shivoa Kingdom
This chapter was a long-awaited one since Shivoa is my favorite mostly because it is run by the Pack. Yes, just like everyone has been asking. Shivoa Kingdom is run by Mitch, Jerome, Rob, Vikk, Preston, and Lachlan. And I do recommend rereading this chapter because a lot does happen in this one!
The chapter starts at sea, just off the coast of the island Shivoa is located on. The readers get a description of the carnage of the battle and the toll it has taken on Shivoa (Reread chapter for that). The readers also learn what Shivoa was like.
A crew member on a pirate ship is standing near the railing when the ship is suspected to have hit a reef but the crew member noticed the railing turning cold to the touch and being able to see their own breath which alarmed them. The captain of the ship noticing it too and seeing the ship had hit ice.
Before the ship was stopped, King Mitchell had sent out General Rob Wolfe to get rid of the enemy ships and to capture the Captains through portals that Seto will create.
The readers are introduced to General Rob Wolfe (Mr. Woofless), as Rob tears the ship apart by using large chunks of ice to split apart the entire ship. Rob grabbed the Captain and threw them through a portal. After he threw the captain through the portal, the chapter continues to go through Rob's eyes until Rob spotted an Estron Flag on a ship and Rob notices the ships have turned their attention to him.
The chapter shifts to inside the Shivoan Palace, going back to what happened after the captain was thrown through the portal. When the captain got up, his eyes met with that of King Mitchell's eyes.
The readers are introduced to King Mitchell "Mitch" Hughes (Bajancanadian), Lord Jerome Aceti (JeromeASF), and to the idea of the Four Defenders of Shivoa and that Jerome is one of them.
Through the Captain, Mitch learns of Skaldia's desire to burn Shivoa to the ground and for Mitch to be dead, but this isn't really news to Mitch. But what is news was that Estron was taken over by the Skaldians. He also learns that King Izic wants to capture General Rob, General Jordan, and Sky. He also learns that King Izic had sent a force of soldiers to attack Citis since they know that is where Prince Tyler is at. Mitch asks Seto to validate the Captain's claims. Seto can validate some but not all.
After Mitch sent the captain to the dungeons, Rob asks for an escape. Forgot to mention that Dan gave the Pack an invention to test out being watches that have communicators on them which is how Rob is communicating with Seto to tell him where to put the portals. After Rob jumps through the portal, three dark mages also jump through it and go immediately to attack Mitch. Jerome defends Mitch, showing that Jerome can access a special type of wind magic through his double-headed battleax.
Mitch notices how exhausted Rob, the readers learning that Rob has been using his magic nonstop for the past two days and it is not starting to show.
The last thing the readers get before thee chapter shifts is that dark mages have entered the palace through the old portal room.
The chapter goes back ten minutes to Jordan and them as they go through the Nether to find the portal to the Shivoan Palace. We start off with Ian asking who the Four Defenders of Shivoa are.
The readers learn through Quentin that Shivoa is a self-proclaimed monarchy, meaning that the Hughes wasn't the original royal family of Shivoa but overthrew the previous family five generations ago. The only reason the Hughes has stayed as the royal family is because they have run the kingdom better than anyone has before.
The readers learn who the Four Defenders of Shivoa are and their jobs. Lord Jerome Aceti, the royal bodyguard of King Mitchell. General Rob Wolfe, General of Shivoa's On ground forces. Admiral Lachlan, head of Shivoa's Navy. Preston Fraggs, King Mitchell's squire/advisor. But they also learn that there are actually five defenders, the fifth one being unknown to the world because their position in the Kingdom's military is kept secret.
Jordan and the others find the Nether Portal they need but find dark mages about to go through it.
The chapter ends with Rob, Seto, and some guards going to the portal room to fight against the dark mages that are coming through it.
| Chapter Eighteen | The Shivoan Palace
Btw I do recommend rereading at least Chapter Seventeen to Chapter Twenty-Four since there is a lot of stuff I don't put in this recap since it is a lot of action and story reveal and a lot of introductions of new characters as well.
The chapter starts with Rob, Seto, and the guards who went to the portal room to fight the dark mages retreating back to the throne room with Rob unconscious. Mitch automatically sends Rob out of the palace and to the healers at the docks.
Seto tries to keep the dark mages back by himself but is quickly overwhelmed which forces Jerome to order guards to get Mitch to the docks as well. Jerome leaves after. Brice and Seto tell him to protect the king, the two willing to hold the dark mages back for as long as they can manage.
The chapter shifts to Jordan and the others in the Nether and their fight against the dark mages in trying to stop as many as they can from crossing to Shivoa. Sometime during the fight, Jordan got pinned and Sky noticed. Sky felt an instinct inside of him take over and he saved Jordan but all of his energy drained afterward. After Jordan confirmed it to be safe and no mages were left in the Nether, Jordan went alone through the portal to see the damage.
Jordan made it to the hallway before he heard fighting. He went to go help. After the fight was over, he pinned his unknown 'comrade' to the wall asking why they were there, giving the impression that Jordan knows exactly who they are.
The chapter shifts again back to Mitch and them. Mitch was taken to an abandoned building near the docks with guards at every entrance. The readers are introduced to Admiral Lachlan (Lachlan). He's in charge of Shivoa's Navy and one of the Defenders' of Shivoa. The readers learn that Rob was able to sink three ships before retreating. Through the conversation between Lachlan, Jerome, and Mitch, the readers learn that most of the citizens on the island were evacuated to Laenadur using Shivoan ships that have left Lachlan no ships left to fight at sea.
Mitch grants Lachlan's request of a ship so that he can try to stop the firing upon the kingdom from the sea. After the Admiral leaves, Jerome and Mitch talk. The readers learn that Mitch's daughter, Princess Samantha, and Mitch's younger sister, Princess Kyleigh, are both at Laenadur being protected by the Magic Council and Preston as well. The readers learn that Mitch's wife, Queen Jessica Hughes (Mitch's IRL Girlfriend) died after giving birth. The readers also get a better look at the relationship between Mitch and Jerome which would be one of like old friends rather than king and subject. Mitch comes up with an idea but needs Seto, so Jerome leaves the King to go get Seto.
The chapter shifts to Seto and Brice, who are doing well in keeping the dark mages back until Seto notices Brice got injured. Brice suffered an arm injury that after some arguing between the two, Brice leaves Seto to go get treated.
The chapter shifts one last time to Jordan and the unknown person that Jordan helped.
The readers learn that the person in question is Skaldia's General. The readers are introduced to General Jason Probst, Skaldia's General, and one of the top three military leaders in Etora with Rob and Jordan taking the other spots in that. The readers learn that Jordan and Jason were both trained in combat by Jordan's father. The readers learn that if Jason hadn't disappeared towards the end of the Decade War when he did, Skaldia would have won the war instead of Estron and Shivoa. The readers also learn that Jason is here to help Shivoa but also because King Mitchell asked him to verify Sky as a Skaldian Prince.
Jordan learns that Jason has turned his back on King Izic, but hasn't turned his back on Skaldia. (This is one thing I will point out to you guys as very important to know. Jason is loyal to Skaldia, but he isn't loyal to King Izic anymore)
The readers learn the true reason behind General Probst's sudden disappearance towards the end of the Decade War. We learn that General Rob had captured Jason, but Mitch wouldn't let Rob or anyone kill him. We learn that Mitch put Jason in a cell, not chained up, his wounds treated, and food there waiting for him when he woke up. Jason tells Jordan that he was knocked out on a battlefield as the Skaldian General but woke up feeling like a fog had lifted from his mind. That he hadn't realized how brainwashed he was until Seto and Waglington freed Jason's mind from it. We learn that if Jason were to ever return to Skaldia, he's in danger of being brainwashed again like everyone who lives in Skaldia right now.
The chapter ends with the two Generals running after a scream that had echoed down the hall from the throne room.
| Chapter Nineteen | The Shivoan Navy v.s Pirates and Dark Mages
The chapter starts with Jason and Jordan making it to the throne room, seeing the doors broken down and spotting Seto captured by the dark mages, tied up and injured. Jason rejected Jordan wanting to help since Jason saw Jordan limping earlier. After some arguing, Jordan decides to stay put and only engage when he feels Jason is in trouble. Jason sneaks into the throne room and does get Seto free not before learning that the dark mages had the intent of turning Seto to their side. Jerome comes into the throne room, helping Seto to Mitch while Jordan goes back to get Sky and them from the Nether.
The chapter shifts to Lachlan, who is at sea right now. They sink two ships before coming to Pirate Captain Crawford's ship who has a dark mage that uses magic to control Lachlan's ship. The readers learn that someone wanted Shivoa to think that Estron was attacking them so the ships all have Estron colors on them. After some words were exchanged between Lachlan and Crawford, Crawford gives the order to capture Lachlan and kill the rest.
The chapter shifts to Mitch and them. Jordan, Sky, Quentin, Ian, Brice, Mitch, Jerome, Seto, and Mitch are in the building that Mitch was put in, talking about what to do and what plan it is that Mitch had. The readers learn that since Shivoa was the first kingdom built, a lot of ideas were tested and one idea was an escape tunnel that leads out of the palace in case of an attack to ends right at the other side of the dark mage army. The only problem is that a cave-in has made it useless and Mitch wants Seto to clear it.
On the way to the building, Sky had explained to Jason what made him so exhausted. During their conversation with the King, when it turned to Jason when Jordan questioned Mitch as to why Jason was here. Jason pointed out that Sky is Prince Adam, Prince Elliot's son, and gives the reason why. The instinct that Sky had to protect Jordan, the blind panic and fighting is a result of Sky's Skylen blood kicking in and protecting his friends from harm. The exhaustion is a side effect that will become less and less often the more he uses his Skylen gifts. The readers learn that Jason knows how Skylen genetics works and Mitch wants Jason to train Sky to use his gifts.
The readers also learn that Jordan's letter that Shelby had delivered to Prince Ty was him asking to come to Shivoa's aid and that the prince should be at Shivoa within the hour.
The chapter shifts to Lachlan. Lachlan being tied to a mass on Crawford's ship. But before Crawford could sink Lachlan's ship, another ship comes to the other side. Lachlan is visibly happy since Lachlan recognizes the ship's colors since they are unique to one ship and one alone.
The chapter ends with a pirate yelling "It's the Prince of the Sea, it's Captain Tyler Ellis!"
| Chapter Twenty | The Untold Truth
This chapter starts four days ago, shifting to Ty and his crew and what they have been doing during all of this. This chapter is one that I do recommend rereading since this one reveals a lot about Ty's character and what happened that went so wrong between Ty and his father.
We begin with Ty and his crew at Estron, seeing the broken state of it with it being overrun with Skaldians. Ty and his crew stayed hidden while loyal Estron guards worked on getting information to the prince.
While they are waiting, the readers learn that Ty's ship is called the Venetia and is the third-fastest ship in Estron's fleet. Venetia bares colors that are different from the other ships. It has the Estron colors, but under it is a banner that is dark blue and green. No explanation was ever given for this as it is only kept to Ty and whenever someone tries to take it done, the crew goes out of their way to make it it goes back up immediately since they know it upsets Ty when it is taken down.
The person who comes is Derick, who is relieved to see Ty is alive. The readers learn that Prince Zachary was crowned as King of Estron. The readers also learn that after Derick tells Ty that after this, Ty will most likely have to be crown and Ty immediately tells Derick that he never wanted the crown. Derick tells Ty to not be the person that so many horribly wrong rumors depict him as. It's revealed that servants, guards, and a lot of the citizens have always known that Prince Zach is not fit for the throne and they want Ty to be King since Ty cares more about Estron than Zach does.
Ty argues back saying he only came back to Estron to get the Venetia and help King Mitchell. He didn't come back to be King and never wants to be one. After Derick tells Ty that the Venetia is still docked at the port and is gonna be destroyed in two days, they try to leave but Derick stops him, trying one last time to convince him to be King.
But Ty snaps and reveals that he doesn't want to be King because he knows King Nathan never wanted him to be King. Ty reveals that King Nathan, his father, gave up on him since Ty was ten years old after Ty's mother died after giving birth to Hallie. Ty's father blamed Ty for his wife's death and ignored and abused him for years. Ty reveals that he's been the one who has been picking up the slack when it comes to Zach's duties since his older brother is too lazy to do anything for anyone but himself but Zach isn't lazy when it comes to taking the credit for everything Ty does. We also learn that Zach is the one who started the horrible false rumors that taint Ty's reputation.
Ty also reveals that King Nathan hated him and only every got along when they were out in public together which wasn't much since Ty couldn't stand being with his father and brother but got along great with his little sister. Ty reveals that he loves the ocean so much because it meant he wasn't anywhere near his father or his brother. Ty reveals that he was going to abdicate his royal title after General Jordan Maron returned from his much-deserved vacation since Ty knew that Zach wasn't going to take care of the on-ground forces like Zach had promised Jordan he would do while the General was gone. Ty reveals that he will come back to Estron to save his sister and the citizens, but he doesn't give a damn about what happens to Zach and is hopeful that Zach does crash and burn since Ty is done being the one who swoops in to save Zach all the time.
Shocked, but Derick counter argues that King Nathan didn't want Ty to be king because Nathan knew that Ty was more of a free spirit that wouldn't like to be confined in the walls of a palace all day. Nathan saw Ty as a great leader who knows how to rally the people and cares about the kingdom more than Zach does. Derick reveals that Nathan had the full intention of making Ty the first Warrior King of Estron for which Ty doesn't believe anything that Derick said.
Ty leaves the conversation, threatening that if Derick brought up him being king again, Ty will abdicate his royal title right then and there. After Ty leaves, Derick stops Linda begging her to talk to Ty since she is the only one that can get through to him. Derick gives Linda a letter from King Zach to give to Ty, but Linda is gonna hang onto it until she feels Ty is in a more rational mindset.
Twenty minutes later and they make it to the port spotting the Venetia, but Ty also spots the Skylark, the second-fastest ship in Estron's fleet. Linda reveals that it is Captain Max La'Plume (Mithzan) who is the captain of the Skylark which is who she spots near the Skylark.
The chapter ends with Ty getting an idea of what to do and telling his crew.
| Chapter Twenty-One | Captain of the Skylark
The chapter starts with Ty, Linda, Noah, and Captain Max going to the Captain's Quarters of the Skylark.
Max reveals that the story around King Nathan's death is that Prince Anthony tried to protect the King from General Jordan who lost his mind and killed the king. General Jordan abandoned Estron after the Decade War to make preparation to fabricate Skaldia attacking and ordered the attack on Hazia and Shia to draw Prince Anthony to Estron to make it look like the prince attacked. During the attack, Jordan killed Prince Tyler and went after Zach and Halie but was protected and forced Jordan to flee the city with Prince Ty's crew who was helping Jordan plot the attack.
Ty of course denies all of that and tells Max everything that happened, the correct version of the story he heard from Linda, Jordan, and his own experience as well. But Max points out that he almost believed Skaldia's story because Max doubted Jordan's loyalties because of his strange behavior and him leaving for three months. Ty agrees that Jordan has been acting weird but Ty agreed that Jordan deserved the three-month vacation he received after being Estron's General for over sixteen years and never taking a vacation.
In the end, Max reveals that he's always been on Ty's side after all the years of fighting side by side at sea.
Ty reveals that he only intends on stealing the Skylark and Venetia which confuses Max since he thought Ty was gonna take Estron back but Ty reveals they need to go to Shivoa first.
But Max argues that he doesn't want to help King Mitchell because they weren't there to help when Estron was burning and still hasn't helped. Ty counters with that Max can't free Estron without the prince since Max's reputation doesn't instill fear like the prince's does. Max eventually agrees since Max knows that anything is better than going back to his boring job of doing nothing.
The chapter ends with Ty coming up with a plan on getting two ships out of port without casualties.
| Chapter Twenty-Two | Prince Ty v.s. Captain Crawford
This chapter goes back to the present time, right after the pirate shouted that it's Prince Ty.
The chapter starts with Crawford immediately noticing that there are knocked out Estron soldiers on the 'Venetia' and none of the people free are baring the Estron emblem. It's revealed that the ship in question is actually the Skylark and has the Venetia colors as well since it is better if no one knows which ship Ty is actually on.
Max tells the Shivoan Ship that is struggling to stay afloat to leave, saying to trust us. The Shivoan Captain is doubtful until everyone notices that the last few enemy ships that were firing on Shivoa were sunk without them noticing and seeing only one ship still afloat that is heading straight towards them. The Shivoan ship leaves immediately, going back to port. After they left, their place is replaced by the Venetia, leaving Captain Crawford trapped on both sides.
Ty and Max board Crawford's ship, Max freeing Lachlan and getting him onto the Skylark. Ty tells Max to dock the Skylark and notify Mitch of their arrival making Max and his crew leave.
Ty offers Crawford a chance to explain himself since Ty knows that Crawford uses to be an ally of Shivoa. But after some words were exchanged, Ty almost giving the order to sink Crawford and his ship, Crawford takes the chance to make things right.
The chapter ends with Ty and Crawford heading to the port to meet up with the others.
| Chapter Twenty-Three | His Damaged Confidence
The chapter starts with Captain Max taking Lachlan to the medical tent and being lead to King Mitchell and the others. Once Max enters, he immediately questions why Jason is here.
After Max tells Mitch the condition of Estron, Ty enters with Crawford. Some bickering here and there between Ian, Mitch, Ty, and Jerome and the conversation shifts when Jason talks about Sky.
Jason reveals that Jordan was born in Skaldia just like he was and the only reason people trust him is because he is a Maron. They decide to split into teams with Jordan immediately disagree when Adam is put in the same team as Jason. Mitch points out that if Jason is gonna teach Adam to use his Skylen gifts, Jason needs to see how Sky fights.
The readers learn that Jason trained Prince Anthony to use his Skylen gifts and trained him in combat. Jason reveals that Prince Anthony is a silvertongue like his father is but the difference between Anthony and Izic is that Anthony's only works based on how much his target fears him and how weak their wills are.
Jason reveals that Prince Elliot's Skylen gifts leaned more towards enhance senses. Prince Elliot had enhanced hearing meaning that Sky has to have an enhanced sense like his father did. Ian reveals that Sky was the best hunter at Hazia and Jason comes to the conclusion that Sky's gifts lay in his eyes which might explain the rare and strange yellow color of them. Jason also reveals that over time, the more Elliot used his enhanced hearing, he started to become deaf making Jason assume the more Sky uses his enhanced sight, he will eventually become blind.
Jason's not confident in Sky being able to free Skaldia because Jason can tell how weak of a will that Sky really has with Ian being the one to speak for him. Jason has only heard Sky speak once and that was when he was telling him about what happened in the Nether. Jason tells them all that Ian and Sky have to be separated so Sky can learn to be more independent and more confident in his own abilities rather than just relying on Ian for everything.
Once Jason proposing it, Mitch agrees but Ian disagrees strongly. In the end, Mitch proposes that the ones that are going to go clear the escape tunnel after Mitch, Sky, Jason, and Seto with Sky being Mitch's bodyguard and Jason being Seto's bodyguard. Meanwhile, Captain Max, Captain Crawford, and Prince Ty are going to be attacking from the sea while everyone else defends the people.
The chapter ends with them all putting the plan into action.
| Chapter Twenty-Four | The First Kill
Honestly, if you guys want to understand the next two chapters, I highly recommend rereading chapter twenty-four. You should probably do it anyway since it is the last chapter I posted for this book before the long hiatus this book took.
The chapter starts with Mitch, Jordan, Seto, and Sky making it to the entrance of the escape tunnel from the palace. Mitch opens it with his dog tags and they enter. Seto has to light the way with a mage light but Sky says how he can see just fine without it. Jason then notices that Sky's golden eyes turned a different color meaning Sky's gifts are activate and can see through the darkness.
When they make it to the cave-in site, Seto concludes that is might be too dangerous to clear it. Mitch changes the plan and asks Seto if he can cause an earthquake instead to take the ground out from under the dark mages that are currently above their heads on the surface. While they are deciding, Sky looked back and saw that they were being followed. Jason goes to fight them after Sky refuses to fight. Jason makes Sky protect the king and Seto.
Not happy with that, Mitch knocks some sense into Sky, figuring out the real reason Sky doesn't want to fight is that Sky doesn't want to kill people as he did in the Nether. After pushing Sky to go help Jason, who can't see in the pitch blackness as Sky can, Sky goes to help Jason.
The readers go through Sky's head, seeing the changes his mind makes as he protects Jason and kills the intruders of his own will and not in a blind rage like he was in the Nether.
Sky and Jason retreat back after Sky sees more coming, too many for them to take on their own.
The chapter ends with Seto activating a spell that makes the whole cave shook and the ceiling starting to crack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And that is it for the chapter recap! Man, that took a lot longer to write than I thought it would. This took a week to write but I thought this might be the best thing to do as a sort of apology for not publishing a new chapter four months.

I know a lot of you guys have been upset with me in that I haven't updated this story, I've lost a lot of readers for this book but I hope this at least sort of makes up for it. Sorry for leaving this book along for so long, that was never my intention for this story. You guys do deserve better than that.

So I hope this somewhat makes you all happy and confirms that I'm not done with this book because I'm not and never said that I was.

Now, I don't know if an update will come next week, I'm not promising that since I need to reorganize some of the plot and such to better prepare for this book's ending.

But Chapter Twenty-Five will be coming out within the month! Until then, I hope you guys enjoyed the story recap!

Bye! ❤️😊
