Sky flinched when a spell flew past Mitch's head and hit the ceiling making dust fall and hit the ground and Sky. Sky gripped his sword handle looking the situation the three found themselves in.
It was a mess, Seto's spell triggered a sinkhole, taking out a massive portion of the dark mage army. But the problem is, once the dust settled, Seto started coughing up blood and collapsed. The wizard's skin is pale as a ghost and his breathing is labored. He's still conscious, but just barely.
The sinkhole dealt with the dark mages on the surface but didn't the invaders coming from the tunnels for which Jason is dealing with now that the light from the sun is pouring in and making it easier to see. About five minutes went by before another problem arose, not all of the dark mages in the sinkhole are dead. Most of them are dead, but not all of them. The ones who can get up got up and saw the four there fighting and struck at them. Now King Mitch is shooting them down with his arrows holding to thin their ranks. But it is hard to tell who is still alive and who is dead and the king is running out of arrows.
While Jason and Mitch are busy, Sky is in charge of making sure Seto is still alive. But he was also trying to find a way out of this. He looked down the tunnel, his eyes adjusting to the darkness letting him see what is there. He frowned a bit seeing more people coming. 'Going back isn't an option, there are too many people coming and they keep coming,' Sky thought before his eyes looked towards the sinkhole. Sky was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard Seto take a sharp breath, he grabbed the wizard's arms, keeping him sitting against the wall.
"Seto..." he mumbled. His eyes looked down at the braces around the sorcerer's wrists. He remembers Jordan telling them that they were monitoring braces and such. Sky stared at them, noticing something on them. He pushed up Seto's sleeve to get a good look on them and his eyes widen a bit seeing two buttons on them along with two words. "Release and alert..." Sky mumbled aloud.
Sky bit his bottom lip and his eyes shifted to look at the fragmented land in the sinkhole as an idea popped into his head. 'We can't stay here. We may be keeping people off us right now but we can't fight forever. The king will run out of arrows and Jason will get exhausted eventually. We need a plan,' Sky thought to himself. He had a plan of what they should do, it was a crazy and outrageous plan but it was all he could think of. He looked at Mitch, about to speak but he held his tongue. 'No...I don't make those calls. They do, they make the plans. I just need to keep my mouth shut...' Sky thought before looking back at Seto.
Sky saw Seto was watching him. "D-Do....it..." Seto mumbled. Sky's eyes soften and he shakes his head. It's not that he doesn't think his plan would work...it's he doesn't feel like it is his place to tell a king and a general what they should do. Sky held Mitch yelp making him look over his shoulder at the king seeing Mitch clutch his right arm.
Sky's eyes widen a bit seeing blood on Mitch's right arm. "King Mitch--"
Mitch gripped his arm and gritted his teeth. "I-I'm fine. It's just a cut. We need to get out of here, I only have three arrows left and more dark mages are coming. General!" Mitch shouted before looking into the tunnel.
Sky looked away from the king, he was debating whether or not to tell the king his idea. He was leaning on keeping his mouth shut, but his eyes looked at Seto. He knows he doesn't really know the wizard that well, but he still doesn't like seeing Seto hurt like this.
Sky sighed softly and stood up straight, he looked at Mitch. "I might have an idea..." he mumbled. Mitch looked at Sky with a doubtful look across his face but it quickly vanished. For as tight as a spot they are in right now, Mitch is really open to anything.
Mitch nodded. "Okay, shoot, what's your plan, Sky?" he asked curiously.
Sky hesitated. "We go to the sinkhole--"
"And get killed by all the dark mages in there? That's a dumb plan!" Mitch said.
Sky's eyes soften a bit, he was going to just agree but he felt the urge to just fight back against him. "No, no, you don't get it. Master S-Seto has those monitoring braces on him...they have a panic button," Sky said.
Mitch looked at Seto, pausing as he started to put together what Sky was suggesting. The king looked at Sky. "You're gonna lean on the Council looking to see if Seto pressed the panic button--"
Sky shrugged his shoulders. "I mean, there are other light mages around. They have to had seen the sinkhole and are coming to close in on them. And going back through the tunnel is not an option, there are more dark mages coming through it," he said.
Mitch looked at the sinkhole, he didn't like Sky's plan but at the same time, he sort of did. It was a suicidal hail mary for sure, the plan entirely depends on the monitoring braces and the hope that the light mages are closing in around the dark mages right now which they really have no idea if they are or not. Mitch sighed, really seeing no alternative, he looked at Sky about to answer until they heard a pain cry echo through the tunnel making Mitch and Sky look into the darkness, worried.
Mitch stepped towards the tunnel. "Jason!" Mitch said. He looked at Sky. "Sky, go get him, we're going with your plan!" he said. Sky nods before Mitch put his bow around him and grab Seto's wrist, heaving him up and resting him over his shoulder.
Sky looked into the darkness, his eyes adjusting as he went in. He could see Jason and he is hurt and outnumbered. Sky let out a shaky breath. 'I already killed today...what's a few more...' Sky thought before he drew his sword from its sheath. Sky pushed off the ground, launching himself into a dark mage that had Jason pinned down. The mage went tumbling down onto the ground as Sky stood in between Jason and the mages. Sky grabbed Jason's wrist, pulling him behind him as they went towards the king and Seto.
"Sky?! What are you doing?!" Jason shouted. Sky stayed silent, not really wanting to speak. Sky bit his bottom lip. He was praying that his plan would somehow work, after all...he made the plan up on the spot. 'Please...let this work somehow...'
