"It's going to be hard, but hard does not mean impossible."

"Where are we going?" Ian asked Jordan. Jordan ignoring his question for the fifth time since he already answered it the first time he asked. Jordan looked around, it's dark, almost midnight, so Jordan checks behind him every so often to make sure Sky is still behind him, and Ian as well. Jordan looked away, seeing two figures staying by the forest edge. Jordan smiled a bit. As they walked up to them, Jordan recognized the other person.

"Dan Middleton," Jordan said. Dan looked at Jordan, smiling.

"Hello, General."

"It's been a while," Jordan said. Dan nods, agreeing.

"Yes it has, and you still look better than last time I saw you since the last time I saw you, it was at a bar fight and you got arrested for it," Dan said making Quentin smile.

"Oh yeah, I remember that, good times." He said. Jordan looked at Dan, seeing a large trunk behind him.

"Anyway, let me guess, you are getting us to Shivoa with some new fancy gadget of yours," Jordan said making Dan nod.

"Exactly, now, Shivoa has a portal room within the palace, but King Mitchell ordered the destruction of those portals when creatures and disaster start crossing over to our world through them. Luckily, portals are two-way doors, I can easily open a portal to the Nether and to the exact spot where the Shivoan palace portal is—" Jordan crossed his arms.

"Dan, how did you know that Shivoa has a portal room and where the secondary portal is at in the Nether?" Jordan asked him making Dan pause for a second.

"--is at. Have you two ever went through a portal before?" Dan asked Sky and Ian acting like Jordan never spoke. Jordan shakes his head.

"Not your portals, Dan. There is a difference between normal portals and yours." Jordan said. Dan looked at him.

"And what difference is there?" Dan asked him. Quentin looked at Dan.

"Yours is more unstable and more dangerous," Quentin said. Jordan glanced at Quentin.

"That's what makes it interesting, normal portals are boring. But can't you just portal us to Shivoa?" Jordan asked. Dan shakes his head.

"No, Captain Star confiscated my other portal device after I kept scaring him with it," Dan said making Jordan smile and Ian as well. Dan turned around, opening the trunk. "Anyway! I got some new stuff for you, General—"

"These aren't prototypes, are they? The last one you gave me exploded." Jordan said. Dan shrugged his shoulders.

"Some are, some aren't. Forgot which ones are and which ones aren't. They may or may not explode, but that's why it is called a prototype, General." Dan said. Jordan glanced at Ian and looked at Dan, going up beside him.

"Got anything that can protect someone? No combat required?"

"For the Skylen?" Dan asked him. Jordan shakes his head.

"No, Sky doesn't need it. Ian does." Jordan said making Ian scoff.

"What? I don't--" Jordan looked at Ian.

"We're about to head into a magic warzone, a dark mage vs light mage warzone. You would be a moron not to take any protection you can get, a magic warzone is nothing like a normal warzone. Magic warzones are more dangerous and more chaos filled." Jordan said. Dan picked up a small shield, standing up.

"Here, this should work," Dan said giving it to Jordan. Jordan tosses it to Ian, Ian catches it making Dan look at Jordan. "Don't throw it, it could break if you drop it--" Jordan looked at Dan.

"You are a weapons inventor if your devices break when dropped, they don't deserve to be used in a combative situation at all. And I'm destroying that portal tool after I'm done with it." Jordan said taking it from him. Dan stood up.

"What?! But it's a masterpiece! I finally—"

"Dan, you have a device that can take someone directly into the Shivoan palace without being detected, imagine what could happen if this ended up in enemy hands," Jordan said making Dan stop talking and look away from him, knowing he is right. Jordan looked in the trunk, seeing a sword. "What's that sword? Normal?" Dan looked at it, picking it up.

"No, it can never dull, and seeing how this sword was supposed to be going to King Nathan, Prince Adam will have to do," Dan said before turning to Sky. Sky looked at him, Dan held the handle out to him. "Everyone needs a sword." Sky took it, he looked at it, pulling it halfway out of the sheath. Jordan looked at it.

"Hold it, see if it is the right weight for you," Jordan said. Sky pulled it out of the sheath, he smiled a bit.

"Perfect," Sky asked.

"Good, you're good with a bow, so I heard, but it's always nice to have a sword on you," Jordan said. Dan looked at Jordan.

"Speaking of bows, I repaired yours after Thomas broke it and I add a few features to it as well," Dan said. Ian chuckled when Dan pulled out a dark purple bow and a black quiver full of arrows.

"What is that? Did you paint it too, Dan?" Ian asked. Jordan's eyes shifted to Ian, shutting him up, he looked back at Dan.

"Thanks," Jordan said as he put the quiver over his shoulder. Dan shrugged his shoulders.

"No problem, not every day I get to repair a Maron family heirloom." He said. Ian watched Sky strapped his sword to his back, confusing him.

"What about your quiver--"

"I'll pass on the bow and arrows. Something tells me that doing archery won't be good for my hands." Sky said making Quentin nod, agreeing.

"I agree, good thinking," Quentin said. Dan gave them a few more devices, giving Ian a sword as well.

"And I'm giving the Prince the last thing I got because something tells me that he'll need it more. It's a cape, but it's as hard as dragon scales. It should protect you when the General can't." Dan said handing Sky a cape, Ian looked at it.

"Why is it yellow?" Ian asked. Dan put his hands up.

"Hey, I didn't mean to make it yellow, it just--"

"I like it." Sky said. Ian looked at Sky.

"The whole idea is to blend in...with this you will stick out like a sore thumb," Ian said as Sky took his sword off and put on the cape, putting his sword back onto his back, he looked at Ian.

"I stick out anyway, Ian." Sky said. Dan smiled, he looked at Jordan.

"That's all I got. Good luck guys, I'll meet you at the camp, General." Dan said before he closed the trunk, sitting on it and clicking a device before he disappeared. Ian and Sky's eyes widen.

"Where did he go?" Ian asked. Jordan looked at the portal device, he bit his bottom lip back. Quentin looked at him.

"Need help?" Quentin asked. Jordan shook his head.

"No, I can figure this out--There!" Jordan said before he flipped a small switch and the device glowed, a portal opening a few feet away from him. He looked at Sky and Ian. "Go ahead." Ian looked at it and back at Jordan.

"Any instructions? Like..hold your breath? Brace yourself--" Jordan shook his head, crossing his arms.

"Coming from someone who has more experience with portals then you two would believe, I'll let you both know that portals are different no matter if they open to the same dimension or location. Go ahead you two." Jordan said before Sky shrugged his shoulders, he ran towards the portal, disappearing once he touched it. Ian stared at it, Quentin touched the portal, disappearing. Jordan looked at Ian, he grinned. "Do I need to push you in, Ian?" Ian shakes his head, running at the portal and touching it before Jordan chuckled lightly and touched the portal as well, disappearing.
