sitting here on the steps
i watch the man with the camera
and i wonder about all of the
lives i could have lived
had i taken one step to the
left or to the right, years ago
i think that's what's called
the butterfly effect.
why is it called that?
the butterfly is a symbol of grace
not the weight of a hundred
thousand lives unlived
i sit here in the golden sun
and reminisce about the
versions of me for the
better and for the worst
