17. Disruption from Peace ♥︎

After that night, Peter decided to leave Lily alone for a while. He couldn't describe the feeling she had caused inside of him. He wanted her. He wanted nothing more than to be with her. But he didn't know if he could handle it. She was a mess. He made her a mess and he was well aware of that. There were no more friendly sparkles inside her eyes only distrust and chaos. Her mind was a turmoil and if he entered it, he would never return alive. He had to admit he had destroyed her.

However, he couldn't let go of her. He continued to dream his tutor session, slowly adapting a new way of entering her dreams. He became a visitor, a silent shadow who was watching as Lily dreamed. She didn't often and when she did it mostly were boring displays. But Peter watched silently, observing how Lily changed and healed. Through puddles and in smoke, he summoned her vision, looking at her as her face was always focused in these visions. Blurred surroundings didn't matter, as long as he saw her face and saw her healing process in front of him, he was satisfied. His physical needs were still satisfied by Tiger Lily, but his reign of terror over Neverland had seemed to pause for a while. He didn't bother with the magical place as much as he used to.

That was until one vision caught him of guard. He had never thought to see Lily's face like that again. Passion and lust covering her eyelids, her hair loose and her cheeks caressed by a strong, large hand. A ring was shimmering into this vision. He swallowed, his cheeks were heated and his limbs were burning. His anger and desire were fighting for dominance and Peter was once again tortured by the memories of holding Lily, of kissing Lily, of her scent, her touch, her body. Watching her was no longer enough. He needed to pull her close to him, to kiss her merciless. For months he practiced with his mysterious teacher who still refused to address herself.

At night he returned to the open place, this time convinced it would work. His hard labour and sacrifices would pay off. The lilac haired devil was waiting for him. « I already thought you would be strict in this case. »

« I don't need your assistance for this one, I believe. » Peter replied, ignoring her burning green eyes. « I'm sure you don't. I just wanted to say good luck. You'll need it. » and with that the woman disappeared in a cloud of fog.

Peter steadied himself, his shadow looming over the open place. With speed it flew down, picking him up, as if his shadow tried to reunite with his body. It burned. It hurt. He clenched his wrists to avoid screaming out in pain. They reached the borders of Neverland and for a split second Peter thought he was dead. The shots of pain that thrummed through his body, made him believe there was no other way than that he was in hell. A soft breeze released him from his pains. They soared higher until the descend began and the castle of Camelot came into view. It was night as well, the cold air sending shivers down Peter's spine. The shadow increased speed, and by doing so becoming so fast, the guards didn't notice the figure smoothly landing on a tiny terrace. The shadow remained behind Peter as his eyes adapted to the scenery in front of him through the open window. Lily.

She was so close, he could touch her. He knew he could. This was real. This wasn't a dream nor a fantasy. This was Camelot's reality and that was a real Lily observing the bookshelves. Her hair was shorter than he remembered and she had gained some weight as well. But as she turned around, Peter was surprised the most. He could've never thought it true, but she had aged as well. He never had taken into account that time might have actually stopped in Neverland. Her cheeks were blushing and he became very aware of her curves.

Suddenly she gasped, as soon as her eyes met a dark figure near the window. Frozen in place she shook her head, her mouth still open. « Lily, don't be afraid, please. »

She gasped, her breathing was so uneven Peter feared she would faint. Instead she remained where she was, taking in the view of the boy who had stolen her heart five years ago. « I don't want to harm you. » Peter continued to sooth her but some anger returned into those lively blue eyes. « You haven't changed a bit. » She let out. It was weird. It was the most normal thing one could comment, and Lily seemed to be amazed by it. This boy in front of her was the one she detested the most, the one she loathed and would preferably kill by her own hands, and she loved him. Oh, she still loved him. It was sick, she knew it, but as soon as he was so close to her she could actually touch him, she knew her heart still hadn't accept his missing from her life. Her mind would ban him, call the guards and throw him in the dungeons to await his deserved punishment for killing the king. But her heart knew it wasn't him at all who killed her father. It was mistake he had made to ensure her safety, that had cost him everything she knew was of importance to him. But after all these years, he was here and still Lily couldn't forgive him nor scold him for the reason of her heartbreak.

He grinned. He knew she'd still fancy him in some way. She still trusted him, for he knew she would yell for Arthur if she didn't. But she kept distance, which bothered Peter immensely. She was so warm, so lovely, all he could think about was pulling her close to him and kiss the stars out of her eyes. A cough interrupted the two who were staring at each other. « Mommy, who's this? »

The words came from a little guy. His hair was a blond mess, just like his mothers and his eyes were blue. God, he had every aspect Peter loved about Lily, all combined together into this little boy. Lily glanced a curious look at Peter before motioning her son towards them. « Come here, Felix. » she said and for a second her voice broke. Peter froze in place. She couldn't look away from both her son and the boy standing in front of her. Peter was still the same as he was five years ago, when she was nineteen and he was twenty. She swallowed as she looked at the child on her arm. Oh, the comparison between the two boys in her room was unbearable. Her worries were confirmed but she couldn't share them with neither of them.

A hard look had taken place into Peter's eyes and Lily recognized the threat immediately. « Felix, why don't you go ask Magdalena for an evening snack, sweetheart. When you return, I'll tell you any story you want. » She smiled and put her five year old down. « But Mommy, I want to know who... » But he couldn't finish his sentence as the woman looked down at him « If you don't want any sweets, then maybe we should put you in bed immediately. » She could barely hide her fear with pretend playfulness, but her son didn't notice. He scurried away, giggling.

« A son, huh? » Peter scoffed. His vision was blurred. Jealousy was threatening to burn him alive. « Arthur must be thrilled. »

« You have no right to be jealous, Peter. » Lily said and her voice was stern as if she was playing his mother now. He shrugged and turned away from her. « I wanted to see you, make up, again. Apologize for everything I've done, but you've clearly moved on. » He knew he was irrational but the feeling of anger was consuming him. He knew that she hadn't moved on at all. The fact that she had called her son after his father... It angered him even more.

Lily came closer, against all her reason, and placed her hand on his arm. Immediately Peter felt better, capable of hiding his feelings better. « You can't apologize for what you did, Peter. » Her blue eyes were looking at him, and for the first time ever he didn't saw fear, nor love or even anger. He saw compassion. Lily felt sorry for him. She knew it. Though she was haunted by her past, Peter was living it. Constantly reminding himself of what he had done. She didn't think about her words or acts, she just went with what her instincts gave her. « Why Felix? Why would you call your son Felix?! » He suddenly screamed out.

Lily retrieved her hand immediately, remembering herself her instincts were not trustworthy. She looked at the ground, at the hem of her deep blue dress. « Tell me. You could've chosen every other name, but still you want to pain yourself by calling your son Felix. Like my father? » His words surrounded her, made her gasp for air.

« Because he's yours. » she blurted and Peter thought he hadn't heard her well. He was silent as he looked at the woman in front of him. Though aged and changed, she was still his Lily. She had known Felix was Peter's from the moment she held him in her arms. She just knew it. And when the two had come together, she could only confirm that except for her hair and eyes, Felix was an exact copy of Peter. She noticed it in the way he thoughtfully looked at the sky before going to bed as if the young prince was certain he would be the one to find all the answers to the universe's biggest mysteries. He was so full of potential, he was a promise. She knew she spoiled him too much, but she couldn't help it. Felix was her son and she saw all the good things of Peter inside of him. Yes, it pained her immensely when her son was upset with her. He had inherited his father's temper combined with his mothers' stubborness. But she loved every moment with her son, when all he did was tell her made up stories, things he wanted to know and showed her whatever he had found in the courtyard. And the best thing to her, was that Arthur loved his son just as much.

After the traumatic experience his birth was, where Lily almost lost her life, they both had decided one heir to the throne would be enough. They gave their child all the love, they could possibly give. They loved him even more than they loved each other.

Peter looked at the woman in front of him. He pinned her to the ground with just one look. « I have a son? And you didn't bother to tell me? How old is he? » It was hard to control his anger. He had to clench his fists, grit his teeth to avoid screaming and ruining the only chance he had ever had to talk to Lily. Really talk to her.

« He's five. »

The words made him dizzy. Five years. He had been gone for five years! He had been practicing, visiting Lily's dreams for five years! No wonder she was a complete mess. To be haunted by your biggest enemy... a man would turn crazy over less. He looked at her again, but he didn't meet sorrow. He caught a glimpse of what a haunting past did to people. She changed her mood entirely. She wasn't afraid anymore. No, she seemed dedicated to start an argument as she lifted a finger into the air. « Honestly, Peter, I don't know what you're doing here or why I haven't called for the guards yet. I'm going to give you a last chance. Leave and don't come back. »

Her words stung, but he felt something else. Though he just met the boy, he didn't think he could leave him behind. Apparently it did miracles to Lily to be surrounded by the only good thing that came out of their union. She was turning slightly chaotic, but slowly as if Felix belated the process. « I want to know him. » Peter said. Anger and shock were displayed on Lily's face and she didn't try to hide it.

« Get out! You leave him alone and don't return! Guards! » She yelled, her mind finally put at ease. Peter crossed the room in a split second. « You can't take him away from me, Lily, he's my son. I'm his father. » He said, but his words were not filled with anger but with fear and desperation unlike previous dreams Lily had about this moment. She shook herself away from his hold.

« You were never meant to be a father, Peter. » And by that guards stumbled into the room, swords ready to attack. He watched her one last time, before running to the balcony and he jumped. Lily gasped, ran towards the railing against all the whistles her mind was blowing. She looked and didn't see him, didn't see the body of a man fallen from a tower. No, she was panting, fear struck her and she looked up in despair. A blinking star was the only thing that caught her attention. She felt the world coil around her. She held onto the railing tight and tried to even her breath, her eyes pinched close.

Two warm arms held her from behind, made her stir for a second. « It's alright, sweetheart. I'm here. » Arthur's soothing voice called behind before he send away the guards to search the entire castle. If Peter was still on the grounds, he would be found and punished for his crimes against the crown. But Peter had already left Camelot, his body floating back to the island as his mind was working with a new plan. Lily had become impossible, but he had a son. A son he desperately needed to recover from the heartbreak his mother caused. He wanted Felix and he was going to get him.

A/N

So long since I updated anything but I've decided to get this story to the finish. The updates will be slow,of course. It has been over 8 months that I published, I think. But anyways, I've decided that filler chapters are okay, but they don't continue the story. I had a lot of ideas and solved mysteries from the series for this story, and whilst creating a deep relationship between Lily and Peter I forgot to actually move on with the story.

So yeah, Felix was meant to be their son all the time I was writing this. I have thought about this scene so much, you wouldn't believe it! I hope to do it justice as I wanted to show that, however their relationship is complicated and had a very dark past since the ending of Everland, they still care for each other. Peter is still madly in love with Lily, and Lily... Well, I think she resembles the perfect example of mind vs. heart.
