"Oh my gosh just to think that me and Roman! that he and me! that we!"

"Yes, yes..." Thomas tried desperately to get a word in as Patton ran excitedly to his wedding.

"What a lovely bride!" Patton stopped at the sudden appearance

"Oh my" Thomas twisted his hat guiltily as he watched, looking down to avoid Patton's eyes.

"Oh did I scare you my dear? I was just looking at that beautiful suit"

"Thank you but I really must be going..." The old man cut in

"But you must see the wishing well" Patton smiled

"That's nice but all my wishes are about to come true" The old man gasped

"A wedding wish! that's the most powerful of all! you must lean in. lean in, that's right closer... now make your wish" Joan stopped on the branch above them, watching suspiciously as Patton breathed

"I wish..." He trailed off into a scream as he fell, Joan gasping and running along the branch 

"Roman, Prince Roman we need help!" Thomas watched him fall as Patton's scream faded, Benjamin transforming back to his usual radiant form.

"My King, where did you send him?" Benjamin's answer horrified the part of him that wasn't drowned in blind adoration.

"To a place where there are no happily ever afters..." Thomas swallowed as the same part of him asked... What are you in love with? He couldn't help it. It was love.
