{ FLASHBACK- continued }

"Split." It all happened so fast most of us didn't even get to react before punches and gun shots started to fire off.

I was pushed to the ground as jet and Droy both covered me and Levy as a bullet rang through the air.

There were screams and curses filling the air my eyes were wide with horror.

We had spies...anger ate away at me as I roughly pushed jet off me and went towards the front door looking for that shadow guy.

I seen gray struggling with two guys, props to him for even lasting a matter of five minutes when it's 2 against 1 but now is not a time for me being proud, I have to help him.

"Get the fuck off of him!" I yelled as I grabbed one guy's collar and he was stunned but reacted fast but not fast enough before I landed a right hook to his jaw causing him to spit blood on the ground.

Me and gray went back to back as he just kicked the other guy off of him. "Thanks Natsu." He panted and I just nodded I was too angry to function properly.

"You kids don't know what you signed up for." The guy I beat said and I scoffed " You guys betrayed us!" I yelled as I just dodged a hit by ducking left and he chuckled.

"You all deserve this, there's more dirt on your beloved ' Dark Fighter ' then you can stand to hear." He yelled the last part as he kicked me in my ribs and I groaned in pain but tried my hardest not to let it show.

"You asshole!" This wasn't just any guy...as much as I hate to admit it, This guy used to be a friend of mine but he betrayed us.

The pain is unbearable but it's something I can't focus on right now. "Toby... you will not win today." I growled and he only raised an eye brow as he sent another blow to my ribs,this time I heard a cracking noise.

"Argh!" Gray was struggling as well shadow and his friend walked over to us four, shadow had dull lifeless eyes.

"Where is Zeref." He spat I couldn't see any other people because he was right in front of my face. Toby had pulled me up by the arms and held me there after he told shadow I was Zeref brother.

Instead of giving him a reply I spit in his face. Which pissed him off ever more "I'm done fooling with you stupid brat."

"Be done. How could you think I would rat out my brother to someone as ignorant as you!" I fired back which earned me another punch to the stomach region.

It hurts.

"I should have known...you always were the strong willed one. Just like zeref sadly. I guess It's gonna take a lot more for me to get you to open up." He sighed as if that was the major inconvenience of his day, if it was I would have gladly scoffed in his face.

Sadly considering how beat I am now it's not the best decision.

His words left me confused but then I got worried as he quickly pulled out a gun from his jacket and aimed.

At Levy.  It all happened so fast  no one could stop it, nor could it have been prevented.

Levy was trying to help someone up from the floor she was covered in sweat and bruises.

No one knew the bullet hit her until she fell face first onto the floor, unmoving.

We all watched in horror as time stood still to consider the loss of a soul.

Not just any soul...our family.

{Flashback End}

L U C Y

He's trembling. I put my hand in his to try to stop it from doing so.

Tears are in my eyes right now...I can feel his anger and loss. All the grief from one of his best friends that he was forced to watch die.

"Natsu...I..." he looked me in the eyes and slowly shook his head. "Please don't Lucy. Just listen to the rest alright?"  I nodded and pressed a kiss to his hand. Letting him know I'm there, because as much as he looks as if he's here with me. I know he isn't; he's lost right now, lost in the traumatic memories.

It happens to all of us, even when we don't want it to happen; it will. You can't prevent it forever and it seems that Natsu is finally going back, hopefully he finds his peace.

"After she was shot the whole crowd burst into tears, well only the ones who didn't turn their back on us that is. One thing I will never forget is the way Jet and Droy begged and pleaded for their sister back. Unfortunately we all knew it wasn't possible...it's that damn gangs fault!" I kept my flinch on the inside when he yelled the last words.

"They left right after she was pronounced dead, before walking out though they gave us all so many scars, physically and mentally. We all knew there was no way we could ever trust as easily again."

He sighed his words getting caught in his throat " That wasn't even the end of it...I passed out so I don't remember much before closing my eyes but when I opened them again...I really wish I didn't." He closed his fist tightly "There was so many losses...Me gray and erza all lost our best friend! I was at the clinic when I first woke up, it was only a few hours after. No one was able to find my brother that's the first thing I was told...they knew I would ask about him. After getting an answer I really didn't like I went out looking for him, not minding my injuries at all. After hours more of searching I was ready to give up but...just as soon as I was about to lay down on the cold ground I-" he paused and I felt the feeling of grief intensify.

"I found him with his head detached."
