"And then she had the nerve to say it was my fault!" Heather was finishing telling Kevin and Cosette a story from some party she went to last night after they went to the mall. They were eating lunch at school when all of a sudden a tray dropped next to Kevin.

"I hate this school." Grantaire, Kevin's younger brother, said. "Like all I want to do is have friends, is that so much to ask? And if I do have friends, they're not actually my friends, they just know that you're my brother and your friends are hot blondes."

"Someone's having a rough day," Heather said and Cosette nodded.

"Are people being mean to you? Who is it? I'll fight them right here and right now!" Kevin was very protective of his little brother, Whizzer never cared for Kevin and he wish he did, so he does everything he can to make sure Grantaire feels safe.

"No, don't. I'll just be even more of a loser and sit with my brother for lunch." He said defeated. Kevin tried not to take offense to his statement.

"Hey, don't think of it as sitting with your brother. Think of it as sitting with your brother's hot blonde friend." Heather said trying to cheer him up. He smiled in response. "We're your friends."

"Yeah, but you guys are seniors and I'm a junior, which means I won't have you guys next year so I have to make other friends."

"You will bud, but don't worry about next year right now. Who knows, maybe you'll find some friends who aren't my 'hot blonde' friends in the near future. Maybe you'll find your own hot blonde friend." Kevin said.

"Maybe a hot blonde friend that becomes more than friends." Heather teased. Grantaire rolled his eyes in response.

"Cosette?" Kevin said. She seemed out of it and was staring off in the distance. Cosette hummed in response. "You seem a bit... distracted."

"I'm not distracted..." she lied.

"What are you staring at?" Heather curiously turned her head around. "Oh. I see" She wiggles her eyebrows at Cosette. "You're staring at Marius."

"I... I don't know what you're talking about." She quickly looked away from him and focused her attention back on her friends.

"Why don't you invite him to sit with us?" Kevin asked.

"No no no! I can't do that! Besides, he's clearly about to go sit down with Courfeyrac and Eponine-"

"Hey, Marius!" Heather yelled getting his attention. He stopped in his tracks and turned towards their table. Cosette put her head down in embarrassment. "Come sit with us!" He looked confused and looked back at his friends who gave him a nod. He then started to make his way over to their table.

"I'm gonna kill you, Heather," Cosette whispered.

"You're gonna thank me. Hey Marius!" Heather said when Marius made it over. "Here, right next to Cosette." He puts his tray down next to her and takes a seat.

Grantaire leaned over and whispered so that only Heather and Kevin could hear. "No homo, but Cosette picked a cutie."

"Right... anyway," Kevin started, ignoring his brothers' comment. "I need to know if you're planning on going to a party tonight, I always order dinner for the both of us and you're not there and I always end up eating your meal at two in the morning."

"Ew, who goes to parties on a Monday."

"Yeah Kev, think about what you're talking about for a second." Heather scoffed.

"Honestly, at this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if you went to a party on a Monday, that's why I asked."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Grantaire said defensively and a bit offended. Heather sat there in shock not knowing whether she should interject or not. Marius and Cosette were off in their own little world not knowing what the others were talking about.

"I don't know, you're just... always out at parties. I don't want you getting drunk again. you're young and not old enough to drink."

"That was one time. I haven't drank since." Kevin gave his younger brother a look that said 'I don't believe you.' "I'm serious, Kevin."

"Ok, I'll believe you." There was a little pause the three of them not knowing what to say for a second, Marius and Cosette still off on their own. Heather spoke up.

"Are you gonna tell him?"

"Now?" Kevin replied.

"I don't see why not. Only the three of us are paying attention."

"Tell me what?" Grantaire asked in a confused tone. Kevin sighed.

"Whizzer and Marvin are coming for a visit."

"...Why..."

"They probably dropped out of college." Heather huffed and sat back in her chair.

"Heather..."

"What? I wouldn't be surprised."

"Are you guys alright? You seem a bit upset." Cosette said.

"We're good," Heather responded.

"Just checking." She smiled and went back to her conversation with Marius.

"Does this mean I have to clean my room?" Grantaire whined.

"Yes," Kevin replied. Grantaire groaned. The bell rang meaning lunch was done. "Heather's house after school?" Heather and Cosette nodded.

"Bring Grantaire too," Heather stated.

"Do I have to?"

"Yes. Make sure he doesn't go to any parties." Heather said sarcastically.

"Serious, who goes to parties on Mondays?!" Grantaire stressed. They all got up and headed off to their lockers to get ready for their next class.

Kevin opened his locker and a note fell out. He was a tad bit confused. Who would put a not in his locker? He picked it up and read it.

"Hey, Kevin,
Could we talk after school? Don't tell Danny, He'll freak.

If the comments don't make any sense on this chapter it originally had a fight scene in it and a few characters were added. Same with other chapters, I'm rewriting this mess of a book I wrote a year ago 😐
