It was early in the morning, school hadn't even begun and Kevin was at his locker when Grantaire came up behind him.

"I have nothing to do until homeroom," Grantaire whined, leaning his back up against the locker next to his brother.

"Go get breakfast or something, I don't know."

"I ate at home."

"Ok, I understand you have no other friends but you can't hang around me all day. Hang around Heather or Cosette."

"Are you ashamed that I'm your brother?"

"I never said that Grantaire, and you know I don't think that either."

"Um... I didn't say that..." Grantaire said. Kevin turned out of his locker to see who said it but couldn't find anyone.

"Yeah, actually, I kind of am." Another voice yelled back.

"This is getting spicy," Grantaire said to Kevin.

"The only reason I came to school with you today is because my car is in the shop. I don't want to be seen with you! As far as I'm concerned, we're not related." The two voices then turn the corner revealing themselves to Kevin and Grantaire. They were Danny and his brother. Connor was right, his brother did hate him.

Danny's brother walked past Kevin and Grantaire and walked to his locker. Grantaire never took his eyes off of him. Kevin went back to his locker.

"Do you know who that is?" Grantaire asked, with his gaze still on him.

"Who? Danny? That's Connor's toxic boyfriend. The one he cheated on me with. You know him. You hate him."

"Not Danny. Him." He pointed toward Danny's younger, blonde brother.

"I'm assuming his brother, who also hates him."

"You know his name?"

"Obviously not. I didn't even know he had a brother until yesterday."

"Yesterday?" Grantaire questioned. Kevin forgot no one knew he was with Connor.

"I overheard it somewhere. Why do you care so much about his brother anyway?"

"I don't care, I'm just... curious."

"Maybe he can be your 'hot blonde friend' if you try and talk to him."

"Yeah, my 'hot blonde friend.'" Grantaire's cheeks started to turn a little pink and his stomach started to get butterflies at the thought of talking to Danny's brother. "No homo."

"...Why'd you say 'no homo'?" Kevin asked.

"It's not like I think he's hot or anything, he's just blonde." He replied so fast he sounded like Jojo Siwa.

"Ok... you do realize the 'hot blonde friend' thing is an inside joke that YOU made up, right? No one said you thought he was hot." Grantaire started to sweat. "Are you alright?" Grantaire nodded but he knew something was up. Danny's brother closed his locker and walked away and Grantaire started to ease up. "Wow... I'm going to head to class, I suggest you do the same."

On the way out of lunch, Connor stopped Kevin to talk.

"Hey, you know how I said I missed telling you all the amazing things in my life?" Connor started.

"Yes, I remember."

"Well, I want you to be the first person to know that I got accepted into NYU!"

"Oh my God really?!" Connor nodded with excitement. "That's amazing, Connor!" Kevin hugged him, but it came to a stop when someone else spoke.

"What the fuck is this?" It was Danny. Of course.

"I'm just talking to a friend," Connor replied.

"A friend who happens to be your ex. Why are you talking to him?"

"Why do I have to tell you? It's none of your business."

"The hell did you say to me?" Connor looked at Kevin scared. He could tell he normally never stood up for himself like this. Kevin gave him a reassuring nod.

"I should be able to talk to whoever the FUCK I want to without you getting in the way." Kevin gasped, he had never heard Connor swear before.

Danny hit Connor.

"I'm gonna kill him!" Kevin yelled as he lunged toward Danny.

"What the hell is going on here!" Heather said grabbing Kevin before he could do anything. Danny's brother, also being nearby, grabbed Danny so he couldn't do anything either. "What happened to Connor's face? Did you hit him? Oh, I'm gonna-"

"Whoah, Heather," Cosette said jumping in and grabbing her too.

"Cosette and I are going to take Connor to the nurse. Grantaire, you take Kevin to Cosette's dad's office." Cosette's dad, Mr. Valjean, was the principal. "I assume you'll bring Danny to Mr. Valjean as well?" Heather asked Danny's brother. He nodded. "Alright let's go." Everyone headed off to wherever Heather had directed them.

Once at the office, Mr. Valjean had asked to see Kevin and Danny at the same time leaving Grantaire and Danny's brother out in the waiting room.

"So..." Danny's brother started. Grantaire got that feeling in this stomach again.

"So..."

"I'm Enjolras, by the way. Danny's brother."

"Grantaire, Kevin's brother."

"It's nice to meet you, Grantaire. I hope the next time we meet again it's under better circumstances." He smiled at him and Grantaire started to blush.

"Yeah, me too."
