Scar's Perspective-

One Month Later-

"Hey Scar." Mumbo smiled, kissing my cheek as he walked into my home.

"Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk actually." I said and Mumbo blinked.

"Oh, sure!"

We walked outside and Mumbo held my hand.

"It's okay, Scar." He said quietly.

I shook my head.

"No, it's not. I can't do this."

"Grian sacrificed himself so we could be safe."

I started to tear up and Mumbo kissed my cheek, hugging me.

Despite it being a month, I still wasn't over Grian.

The past month has just made me realize how much I love him and how he's never coming back.

No matter what I do.

"I just can't stop missing him." I cried, "He's gone forever."

"I know," Mumbo whispered, sounding on the verge of tears as well, "I know exactly how you're feeling."

"I know he did this for us, but did he have to? I wish he could come back, I wish he was still with us. I wish I was the one who died."

"Scar, no! I can't go on without you or Grian. Whichever one of you died, it would be heartbreaking."

"It's okay, you can tell me the truth that you don't love me."

Mumbo looked as though he was about to smack me.

"You idiot, of course I love you, and I will never stop loving you or Grian."

Mumbo kissed me and I held him close, kissing back.

As we broke apart, we hugged once again.

"Grian will never leave us." Mumbo said, "He'll always be a part of us."

Scott's Perspective-

I rang the doorbell, waiting for someone to answer the door.

Jimmy's mother opened the door and smiled nervously.

"Where's Jimmy?" I asked.

"He's upstairs." She said, "His sister's talking to him."

I nodded and walked up.

I knocked on Jimmy's door and I heard him crying.

"Sunflower, please open the door." I said softly, a bit concerned.

Lizzie opened it for me, and I thanked her before walking over and sitting next to Jimmy.

"I'm sorry, Petal." Jimmy sniffed, leaning on my shoulder.

"It's okay. I know how hard this has hit you. I just thought maybe today getting outside and walking around."

"Yeah Jim, get up and walk around with your boyfriend. It'll make you feel a lot better." Lizzie said.

Jimmy groaned, "No."

Lizzie sighed, "Gimme a sec, Scott. Mind waiting outside?"

I nodded and she shut the door.

"Alright, up you get!" She said, and Jimmy screamed as it sounded like she dragged him out of his bed.

I giggled and shook my head as I waited for Jimmy.

-

"Ugh, sorry about that." Jimmy said as he stepped out.

I kissed his cheek.

"It's okay."

We linked hands and walked downstairs.

We walked outside and started walking towards a nearby park.

There were some kids there, but luckily two swings were free.

"Petal, don't you wanna do something else?" Jimmy asked.

I shook my head, "Come on!"

Jimmy didn't step onto the mulch though.

"Jimmy?"

"I- just...isn't it a bit crowded?"

"Not...really." I said, looking around.

There were about five kids and a couple of parents.

I held his hand, "Come on, don't you wanna swing?"

Jimmy looked over at them and I dragged him over.

He looked scared as I beckoned him to sit down next to me and swing with me.

"Come on, Sunflower, it's not that hard."

I reached for his hand, but he moved it away.

"Sunflower?"

"I- I know it's been a month but...this is the park me and Grian would play at as kids."

My eyes widened.

"Oh, Sunflower, I'm so sorry. I had no idea."

Tears started to form in Jimmy's eyes as he watched kids run around, screaming with joy.

"We used to come here every Friday and play for hours. And we would swing together and do everything together. He would tell me everything and- and now he's gone."

He started to cry, and I sighed, wiping his eyes.

"I'm sorry," Jimmy said, trying to catch his breath, "I know it's been a month but- "

"It's okay, Sunflower. I understand."

A little boy then ran up to us and tugged on Jimmy's shirt.

"Excuse me mister, why are you crying?"

Jimmy looked at the boy and his eyes widened.

The kid looked like a mini version of Grian. Red sweater and everything.

"I- I'm just sad about a friend."

"Why?" A girl asked.

She was wearing green overalls that had a frog on them and she also had black hair pulled into a ponytail.

She looked like a mini version of Kisha.

"It's just..." Jimmy trailed off, not knowing how to explain death to four-year-olds.

He then bent down so he was on the kid's level.

"My best friend left about a month ago."

"Where'd he go?" The mini Grian asked.

"...away."

"Why did your best friend leave you?" The mini-Kisha asked.

"Because it was his time to go." Jimmy said.

"Is he going to come back?" The mini-Kisha asked.

Jimmy shook his head.

"And that's why it's so sad." He whispered.

The kids nodded in understandment.

"Well I hope you never leave me." The mini Grian said to the mini-Kisha.

"I would never!" She giggled and they raced each other to the swings.

Jimmy stood up and smiled at them.

I kissed his cheek.

"See? You're healing already."

Jimmy smiled and kissed my forehead.

"I'm sorry to put you through this, Petal."

"It's okay. It's going to be okay."

I love you.
