Confessions
This chapter will make those peeps who said that Rick was tearing Scott and Jimmy apart happy. I'm sure everyone's realized that Rick wasn't doing that. Anyway enjoy ig
Jimmy's Perspective-
I took a deep breath and knocked on Scott's door.
Scott opened it, looking nervous.
"Hey Jim!" He said and I waved nervously.
"So, this is Jimmy?"
I felt my palms start to sweat as Scott's father looked at me up and down.
"Uh- yeah, this is Jimmy." Scott said awkwardly.
His father nodded, not taking his eyes off of me.
"Nice to meet you." I said, stretching out my hand.
He shook it and then Scott said,
"Well, Jimmy, wanna go wait in my room until Grian arrive?"
I nodded, "Sure."
"It's just upstairs to the right."
I nodded again and left.
I entered Scott's room and sighed as I sat down on his floor.
I saw something colorful under Scott's bed and bent down, curious.
I noticed basically everything that made Scott...well, Scott, was tucked under his bed.
I saw a box and reached out to grab it.
"Jim?"
I banged my head and quickly stumbled out from under the bed.
Grian raised an eyebrow, and I flushed red.
"I- just...don't ask."
Grian smiled jokingly, "Sure, I'll leave you alone."
My smile faded.
Grian sat down next to me.
"You've changed, you know that?" I asked, not looking at him.
"What do you mean?"
"You normally make fun of me every chance you get. I've noticed you changing, Grian. I've been friends with you since we were 5."
Grian looked down, "Yeah...I- I know. But look, it's not easy for me, I've been through a lot!"
"Have you? Because no one's told me anything. I thought we were best friends. Whenever something went wrong, I was the first person you told. But now I'm just getting shoved aside with no explanation! I- I really felt like nothing for a while..."
"Yeah...Kisha's been getting on my case about talking to you."
Scott then walked in.
"Sorry, my dad's giving me a hard time about shit." He said, sitting down next to us.
"Alright, Grian, let's get started, shall we?"
Grian took a deep breath and nodded.
"Why don't I just answer your questions?" Grian asked and I looked him dead in the eyes.
"What is going on with you and everyone else that I can't know about?"
Grian sighed, "I thought that would be your first question. It's...well Jimmy, it's about Watchers."
...
"What the frick is that?"
Grian tried his best to laugh, "It's...well I'm not entirely sure, I think their thing is that they go into different dimensions to get what they want. They watch over everything."
"Are you a Watcher?"
Grian shook his head, "I was supposed to be one but since I tried to kill myself that one time...they uh- split me in half."
My eyes widened.
"And uh- yeah. It sucked. I kept glitching and seeing different things in the other dimension that my half was sent to. Terrible things. And when I glitched, it felt like it did when I was getting torn apart. A splitting pain that made your heart tear apart. Eventually, I had to fight to get my other half back. And that's where Martyn sacrificed himself. He was killed by them, and I was whole again. I was sent back here and...I thought it was the end of this adventure."
Grian then looked up at me.
"And that's where Rick comes in."
"Rick was a part of this?"
Grian nodded.
"He...was a Watcher."
"What?! Why?"
Scott handed me a piece of paper which turned out to be a letter.
I read it and still didn't understand.
"Wait, what? So...this is so confusing. Rick was sent here and ended up getting killed by the Watchers. Wait but why was he sent here?"
"We don't know." Grian said, "All we know is that he was tricked and came from a different home."
"A home where he was dating Martyn. And I was dating...you." Scott said, looking at me.
I blushed and Grian then mockingly shouted,
"OoOoOo!"
"GRIAN!" I shouted and Grian laughed.
I laughed as well before sighing, my smile fading.
"I missed you." I said and Grian hugged me.
"I did too. And I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner. You're my best friend."
"It's okay, besides, it's my fault for not being patient. Tango told me that you would tell me everything when the time is right. And I guess that's now."
Grian nodded.
"But...is that the end with the Watchers?" I asked.
"I'm sure it isn't." Grian said, "I feel like there's something we're missing..."
Scott then sprang up and searched his bag.
"What are you doing?" Me and Grian asked.
"I just remembered, a substitute teacher asked me to give this to you, Grian." Scott said, handing Grian a letter.
He looked at it and narrowed his eyes.
"Who was the sub?" I asked.
Scott shrugged, "Not sure. I'm pretty sure he's new."
Grian put the letter in his pocket.
"I'll open that later, I don't want to deal with that right now."
"Why did a sub want to give Grian a letter?" I asked.
"He said he was tasked to from a different teacher."
"Oh, it's probably Mrs. Polly, she told me she wanted to give my family a thank you letter or something for donating her books."
Grian then got up and stretched.
"I better be heading home, I just remembered the project I have. Bye guys."
Grian left and we waved goodbye.
Me and Scott sat there in silence before I asked,
"So uh- do you believe everything that Rick mentioned in his letter?"
I was thinking about the part where he mentioned how I loved Scott.
Scott nodded and I flushed red.
"But...don't you still love Martyn?" I asked slowly.
"I do."
"So...what are you going to do?"
"I...want to date you, Jimmy, I really do, but I think I just need some time. I know I'm not, but I keep on thinking I'm betraying Martyn or something. I know we broke up months before he died, but I just...I still liked him, despite us being over. And now I realize what he meant when he said we couldn't be together."
I patted Scott's back and Scott smiled weakly at me.
"If we can just stay...close friends for now, I think that would be good. I just need some time."
"Of course, yeah. I'll...I'll be waiting." I said, smiling and Scott smiled back, both of us red.
"Thank you, Jimmy. And know that I do really like you, I'm just...not ready."
"Yeah, I understand, Scott. Don't worry. Take all the time you need."
Scott smiled, "Thank you."
"Don't worry about it, I'm always here."
Scott leaned his head on my shoulder, making me flush a darker shade of red, and we stared outside his window, watching as a bird made its nest.
Though I didn't understand everything that happened today,
I at least had a good ending to it.
