The story of the beginning days of the Codfather.

Jimmy stood up, his eyes wide and searching. As he gazed around the room, he spotted a young woman in the corner. "Oh!" She cried, rushing to his side. "You're awake, dear, thank goodness." She breathed out a relieved sigh. "My name is Ado Ahkn. It's an Oceanfolk name." She says at his confused expression, swishing the scaly, web-ending tail he's only just noticed. She holds out her webbed hand. "What's your name?"

"Jimmy." He answered. He looked down and saw his webbed hands and swishing tail. "What am I?"

"An Oceanfolk." Ado Ahkn answered simply. "Now that you've recovered, you should go. None of the Oceanfolk trust me anymore." She ushered him out. As Jimmy tried to look back at her, she vanished.

Jimmy wandered for hours before he stumbled across a village. As he slipped into the small town, he spotted something; all the village people had tails, and fins instead of ears. As he tried to make sense of what he was seeing, a girl slammed into him and tumbled to the ground. "Shoot! I'm sorry!" She cried.

Jimmy stretched out his hand and she took it. "No, I'm sorry. I didn't see you."

The girl looked him up and down. "Who are you? I haven't seen you in the village before. I'm Neila, by the way."

Jimmy rubbed his neck. "I'm Jimmy, and I'm just coming here." He said.

Neila's eyes flew wide. "Oh, cool!" She said excitedly. "Do you like cod?"

He nodded enthusiastically. "Awesome!" She cried, linking his arm with hers. "Come with me, I'll show you around.

They wandered around the village for a few hours, Neila showing him all her favorite places. "Neila, who are your parents?" Jimmy inquired.

Neila's bright smile faltered, and she looked down. "Their names are Hessa and Karl, but my father is titled 'The Codfather' as he is the leader of the Empire. My mother is sometimes called 'The Codmother' on occasion because she is the wife of the leader. I don't have a title yet, but once father retires or dies, I will take his place." She said.

Jimmy smiled. "That's great! If you enjoy ruling, I suppose." He rocked back and forth on his heels.

As they headed for Neila's house, a tall, gray-finned woman burst from the palace doors, racing towards Neila and Jimmy. "Mother?" Neila asked, confused.

"Neila!" She gasped, falling at Neila's feet and bowing to her daughter. "My daughter! Your father has been murdered."

Neila covered her mouth in horror as the other villagers stopped and turned to her, bowing to the young Codmother.

Jimmy avoided her for most of the evening.

Jimmy woke late in the night to Neila shaking his shoulder. He jolted up, his heart pounding as a familiar scent hit his nose. "Salmon." He snarled. Neila nodded.

The two teens launched down the stairs, and Jimmy felt an uncomfortable weight slipping down his shoulders. He paused to look in the pond at his reflection and gaped at what he saw; His green scales had darkened to a midnight green, and his pale green webbing deepened to a shadowy blue. His skin was a darker blue than his webbing, but lighter than his scales. He was shocked at the transformation, but one look at Neila told him that he was fine.

They reached the river and the pair dove into the water.

Jimmy grasped the first salmon in his now-clawed hands and sank his fangs into the salmon's head. He ripped upwards and blood tainted the waters around him. He resurfaced, the salmon's meat still in his jaws and the dead salmon floating nearby. He spat and looked around, wiping the blood from his face.

He spotted a tall, salmon-scaled woman floating above the water, a red trident clutched in her hand. She was cackling madly. "Try all you want, dearie." She hissed, a forked tongue slithering from her lips. "You can't escape the Salmon Queen, Saela!"

She cackled again and thrusted her trident upwards. Lighning crackled and the dangerous static flew into the air. Jimmy scrabbled for the land, reaching shore as the lighting stabbed into the water.

Jimmy screamed as the electricity spread through the water. As soon as it reached Neila, the young girl shrieked and went limp.

Saela laughed and vanished.

Jimmy raced forward, his heart pounding. He swam to Neila's side and lifted her to the land. Neila coughed and spoke in an ashy tone. "Jimmy. I'm sorry I didn't get to know you any better." She smiled. "But in the small time I knew you, I understood you. I know you will make a fine Codfather." She held out her hand. "Trust....me...." Her eyes softly closed.

Jimmy sat there, gripping her hand, and gave into tears.

Jimmy sat in Neila's throne room and sighed. 'I don't belong here.' He though sadly. He stood up and moved his things to the small house on the docks. He didn't leave for days, but a knock on his door made him break and he answered. "Ado?" He asked blearily.

Ado Ahkn stood before him. "Hello, Codfather Jimmy."

Jimmy frowned, looking down. "I don't deserve that title." He said.

Ado put her hand under his chin. "That you do." She soothed. "But I will be honest now. I am not Ado Ahkn, nor am I Oceanfolk. My name is Lauren, and I am an elf." Her disguise vanished and a pair of galaxy wings spread. Jimmy's eyes flared open wide. He couldn't believe it. 

An elf? 

"And the Elf King wishes to meet you."

Historical notes:

Not much else is known about the early days of the Codfather's rule.

The boy wore a cod mask for the most of his days, and the visit he made to the elf empire of Rivendell was the first time in months that anyone saw his face. The elf king bonded instantly with the Codfather, and both their empires and relationships blossomed.

Until the tale of the twelve empires fully began.

Okay everyone! This is just an official welcome to this story. Just a small note that I'll be uploading at least once a week, but I might upload twice if I feel the need to. Also, I kind of made the Codfather thing a joke because it's Jimmy, and well... Well, yeah.

ALSO!!! I need a name for a character in Pixl's story. Anyone who has an idea can write it in the comments, and I'll consider it. The one thing is that neither Ranboo, Tubbo or Tommy can be them, because they will be appearing later on. If you have any suggestions, please tell me! :)
