Months passed and Cookie's stomach has grown into a large bump. "Hello, Lucious and Cookie it's time to find out the sex of the baby, or do you want to be surprised?" Dr. Sanders asked.

Lucious and Cookie look at each other for a few minutes. Before Lucious replied. "We decorated the nursery gender neutral until we knew for certain what the sex of the baby is," Lucious replied.

"So Yes we would like to know if we are having a boy or a girl." Cookie said.

"Okay let's see what the cub is." Dr. Sanders replied.

Dr. Sanders places the gel on Cookies' stomach and moving the probe around until she saw it.

"Congratulations you two it's a girl." Dr. Sanders said.

"Oh my god, we're having a girl baby." Cookie exclaimed.

"Our little Kayla is a beautiful baby," Lucious replied.

"Yeah, she is the perfect mixture of us." Cookie said.

Meanwhile at Cookie and Lucious house Candace Carol their boyfriend's Bunkie Shanice Vernon Jackie Thirsty and Rochelle were busy decorating the house and setting up food to celebrate the news of what the sex of the baby is though they won't find out until Cookie and Lucious returned.

A few hours later Cookie and Lucious returned home. "Well, are we having a niece or a nephew?" Candace asked.

"It's a girl." Cookie and Lucious shout. Cheers and hugs rang out in the Lyon household.

"Oh, that's great you two we are happy for you," Bunkie replied.

"Thanks, Bunkie."Cookie said.

"Don't mention it," Bunkie replied.

Cookie then passed the ultrasound picture around allowing everyone to get a look at it.

It was a wonderful celebration filled with love for Cookie and Lucious and their baby girl.

They had tons of food for everyone. It was great fun for all of them.

They gathered around Cookie rubbing her belly and welcoming little Kayla Jasmine Lyon to the family.

Lucious made Cookie sit down to keep her feet from swelling and bad from hurting.

Now that she was showing more noticeable now Lucious was more protective of her and the baby. He now woke up before her making her breakfast in bed making sure she didn't carry anything heavy including laundry baskets trash cans boxes and the like.

He rubbed her feet and back made sure the house was filled with her craving foods and treated her like a queen of course she appreciated all that Lucious did for her.

"Baby thank you for everything you do for me." Cookie said.

"Baby you don't even have to thank me for taking care of my girls that's my job," Lucious replied.

"I love you Lucious." Cookie said.

"I love you too Cookie," Lucious replied.

He leaned in kissing her passionately she returned the kiss with passion.

Lucious grabbed the big pillow he got to help support Cookies back making sure she was comfortable.

When he left her at home alone he made sure she always had the spare gun near her he had made sure to take her to shoot it so she could handle it without issue.

Cookie was writing in her journal with her walkman on.

She didn't she was comfortable and relaxed and before Lucious left he made sure she had her craving foods and water.

Cookie only needed to get up to pee.

She would adjust when she needed to get more comfortable.

Lucious also decided that he would bring food home to keep Cookie from cooking and being on her feet. Or he would cook something himself.

Cookie was napping with her headphones on she didn't hear Lucious came home or even enter the bedroom. Cookie slowly wakes up to the smell of food and Lucious showering kisses on her.

"Hey baby, when did you get back?" Cookie asked.

"Just a few minutes ago you fell asleep with your headphones on," Lucious replied.

"Yeah, I did I don't know for how long though." Cookie said.

"Well, I brought us dinner how about dinner in bed tonight?" Lucious asked.

"Sure Kayla has been very active she seems to settle when I read out loud." Cookie said.

"Seems she's gonna like to read like you," Lucious replied.

"Or write rhymes like you." Cookie said.

"Well, whatever she will be she's going to be great at it," Lucious replied.

"Yeah, she's gonna have a bright future." Cookie said. As she rubbed her rounding belly.

"We all will once our Empire is up and running," Lucious replied.

"Your right baby." Cookie said.

Lucious changes into pajama pants and gets in bed next to Cookie having finished their dinner.

They sat up in bed and cuddled Lucious felt the baby move.

"Hey baby girl, it's your daddy, mommy says you like when she reads to you so I'm going to get mommy more books so she and I can read to you how does that sound?" Lucious asked.

Lucious still with his hand on Cookies' stomach feels a kick.

"Alright, baby girl ill take that as yes," Lucious replied kissing the spot he felt the kick.

Lucious held Cookie close and they fell asleep that way peacefully.

The next morning Cookie and Lucious were woken by the smell of food Cooking.

They sit up in bed as they hear a knock on the door.

"Lucious Cookie you guys decent?" Vernon asked.

"Yeah Vernon come in," Lucious replied.

Vernon with Bunkie behind him brought two trays of food.

"Here you guys are a nice home-cooked breakfast," Bunkie said.

"You guys didn't have to do that," Lucious replied.

"No we didn't but we wanted to Lucious you and Cookie and the baby are families and we look out for the family," Vernon said.

"Well thank you both it does help." Cookie replied.

"No thanks needed that's what family is for," Bunkie said.

"Well, if you ever need anything from us you got it, we owe you both for all the help you both have given us," Lucious replied.

Lucious and Cookie ate breakfast in silence while Bunkie and Vernon cleaned up their mess and then took the shopping list of the fridge and bought them more groceries.

Half an hour later they returned with everything needed.

Unpacking everything putting it away once they finished they have Lucious his change and leave the couple to have alone time.

They locked the door behind them when they left.

"It was nice of them to make us breakfast." Cookie said.

"Yeah it was they care about the three of us and they are showing it," Lucious replied.

Later that evening Bunkie and Vernon returned with a nursery bookcase and books to fill it they assembled the bookcase and put it on the other wall opposite the rocking chair.

By this time Lucious and Cookie were standing in the doorway of the nursery and were happy with the bookcase full of children's books.

"Vernon and Bunkie you have always had my back since we met and you extended that to my girls and I will never forget that," Lucious said.

"We got you," Bunkie replied. As he grips Lucious shoulder.

Bunkie and Vernon also hand Lucious a bag of food so they wouldn't have to cook.

Lucious and Cookie are left alone again they ate their food throwing the trash away Lucious picks Cookie up in his arms and carries her up to the bedroom.

"Lucious put me down." Cookie said giggling.

He puts her down carefully on her side of the bed making sure her pillow was to securely behind her back.

Getting in bed beside her he spooned beside her and then they fall asleep.

The next morning Cookie woke up alone she notices a note on his side of the bed.

"Well, Kayla it looks like it's just you and mommy for a while." Cookie said.

Cookie felt a kick in response Cookie then gets up taking her back pillow with her and goes to the nursery grabbing a book off the bookshelf she adjusts the back pillow and sits down and begins to read aloud.

Meanwhile, Lucious beeper kept going off, he was making drops left and right, he had codes for drops and codes for his music and his DJ friends would circulate his music during most of their gigs which circulated his name as a local rapper.

But that was only the beginning word spread to other local rappers and then challenges started getting issued.

Cookie was still in the nursery she had fallen asleep. The front door opens Jackie Rochelle and Shanice walks inside looking around they don't see Cookie they go upstairs and see her sleeping.

"Cookie wake up and get dressed," Jackie said.

"Oh my god, Jackie you scared me!" Cookie shouted.

"Sorry Cookie but come on and get dressed we are leaving," Jackie said.

"Where are we going?" Cookie asked.

"You'll see hurry up and get dressed we'll get the pillow for your back," Jackie said.

Cookie goes to her bedroom and changes clothes. Coming out a few minutes later. "Now can someone please tell me where we are going?" Cookie asked.

"No now come on," Jackie said.

"Okay okay, I'm going." Cookie replied.

They get in Jackie's car and drive Cookie is looking around utterly confused until they stopped outside of a large building with cars surrounding it and people getting out and walking inside loud music could be heard blasting. Luckily they were in the middle of nowhere so no one would make noise complaints.

"Jackie are you serious I'm pregnant I wouldn't fit in at a party like this." Cookie said.

"Trust me Cookie you'll fit in there is a reason I brought you here.

They go inside and see people hyped up and two people standing on stage facing each other. Jackie sees Bunkie Thirsty and Vernon  Shanice with a chair in handsets it in the front of the stage where Thirsty and the others were standing.

"What's going on?" Cookie asked.

"You'll see, "Jackie replied.

Cookie looked up at the stage when she noticed Lucious standing up there he was next in line to battle.

"Why didn't you tell me Lucious was in a rap battle?" Cookie asked.

"Cookie because we wanted it to be a surprise Lucious doesn't even know your here you've been cooped up in the house the majority of this pregnancy and we wanted to give you something else to look at," Shanice replied.

He looked cool as a cucumber just that at the rap party that would change both their lives Cookie sat in her chair rubbing her stomach as the baby kicked reacting to the noise all around.

"Since when did Lucious start battle rapping?" Cookie asked.

"His music got heard by other local rappers and they wanted to take him on so Lucious accepted and his fan base is growing because of it," Bunkie replied.

"Wow, he never told me that." Cookie said.

"He wasn't trying to keep that from you he just wanted you to not worry and focus on Kayla." Thirsty replied.

"I'm not upset about it I'm just surprised." Cookie said.

They continue to watch the battle and of course, the crowd cheered harder for Lucious when it was all said and done.

Lucious walked off the stage he still hadn't seen Cookie sitting there. "Hey Jackie, Rochelle, Shay I didn't know you'd be here I'd thought you would be at my house with Cookie," Lucious said.

"Oh, we were at your house and brought Cookie with us," Shanice replied.

"You brought Cookie with you where is she? I don't want my girls getting hurt." Lucious asked.

"Baby we're right here."Cookie replied.

Lucious turned to see Cookie sitting in a chair with her back supported.

"I'm sorry baby I didn't see you there," Lucious said.

"It's alright I didn't plan to come I was napping in the nursery when they came and got me but you did great and Kayla has been kicking up a storm being around all these new sounds." Cookie replied.

"Let me feel," Lucious asked. Lucious laid his hand on her stomach "Woah it feels like she's having a party in your stomach." Lucious exclaimed.

The others who felt Cookies' stomach all nodded in agreement.

People walked up to Lucious congratulating him on a wonderful battle even exchanging cards with him so that they could invite him to other battles.

Before he and Cookie left Lucious was handed the money he won from the battle.

The group left heading back to Lucious and Cookie's house after stopping off to get dinner.

Lucious and Cookie sat on the couch eating while the rest sat around them and joined in the fun of eating and family.

"I want to thank you guys for bringing Cookie to the battle she's been cooped up here as her pregnancy gets further along I have been working hard to get our goal off the ground and she hasn't been able to leave the house except for doctors appointment's and what trips you girls take her on," Lucious said.

"Your welcome again we are family so no problem at all," Jackie replied.

Lucious hugged the girls that he considered sisters and thanked them again.

They continue to eat in silence and eventually started to play games.

It was a fun night for all involved and finally, Cookie got tired and went up to bed while Lucious and the others cleaned up everything preparing to leave so Lucious could go to bed.

Lucious walked into the bedroom finding Cookie fast asleep.

Lucious changes into pajama pants and gets in bed next to his beautiful sleeping wife.

The next morning Lucious was gone again leaving a note and breakfast for Cookie.

Lucious pulls up to the cemetery it just so happens both his and Cookies dad's were buried here.

Dad goes to his father's grave first.

"Hey Dad I know I haven't been down here to visit in a while and I'm sorry for that I've just been working a lot of things have changed since I've been here last I met my soul mate and we fell in love though her dad didn't want her anywhere near me I'm sure you two have met up there though since he died shortly after he kicked her out. Her name is Loretha but to me, she's my Cookie Lyon and your gonna be a grandfather to our little girl Kayla. Also, I'm sure you know what happened to Mama she was so lost without you here one minute trying to kill herself the next me, and then going on to that loving mother's behavior I had to have her hospitalized for her safety as well as my own. Don't think I blame you because I don't I blame those that took you from us because if they hadn't who's to say mama would be where she is now. I love you dad ill see you later." Lucious said as he walked away.

Lucious walked to the row that was a few yards away from his father and finally there it was the grave of John Holloway.

"Hello Mr. Holloway I never thought I would be standing in front of your grave to finally talk to you I know you don't like me and
you hate that Cookie and I love each other but you really can't help who you fall in love with I'm taking good care of her and you have a beautiful baby granddaughter on the way that we want the best for her we would have liked for both her grandfathers to be involved in her life but that isn't in the cards for her I wish things could have been different between us and ill always regret that things didn't go right between all of us I better get back before Cookie gets worried," Lucious said.

Lucious leaves the cemetery and heads toward home.

Cookie was sitting at the kitchen table cutting board on the table peeling and cutting potatoes she didn't hear Lucious come in who was standing against the wall watching her not saying a word.

Having cut the last of the potatoes she gets up taking them to the sink to wash and rinse them off then she puts them on the stove to boil next to the point of collard greens.

Lucious walks up behind Cookie wrapping his arms around her.

"Lucious I swear are you trying to scare me into an early labor?" Cookie asked.

"No baby I'm sorry I wasn't trying to scare you surprise you yes but not scare you," Lucious replied.

Cookie turns back around and started to make the smothered pork chops.

Lucious cleaned the dishes that were in the sink once he was done he helped make a dessert which was peach cobbler they talked and laughed he didn't tell Cookie about his visit to the graveyard.

After dinner, they settled on the couch to watch television.

They watched television till they both fell asleep on the couch Half an hour later Lucious wakes up carrying Cookie up to their bedroom.

He goes back to sleep holding Cookie closest to him just like every night before.

The next morning just like usual Cookie found a note and breakfast waiting for her. Getting ready for the day after eating her breakfast once she was done with that she did some light cleaning around the house.

Once she was done with that she looked into her kitchen deciding what she was going to make for dinner having the mashed potatoes and greens leftover from the night before she decided steak would be a good choice for that night's dinner.

But she didn't have to worry about that until later.

Meanwhile, Lucious and the guys had to collect more product because their supplies were running out. Lucious and the guys were top sellers the always gave their boss his cut and was never once short.

Lucious and his boys were smart they never kept the drugs on them and they were never kept in their houses the had a storage spot they used to get the product as needed.
