A sick day
I woke up the next morning with a pounding in my head. My body was hot and my eyes watered as I yawned. I slowly sat up and held my head clenching my jaw as it pounded. I sighed and stood up pulling on my uniform and held my Scabbard firmly in my hands as I walked down stairs. My hair hanging in my eyes and hitting my back as I walked. I slowly walked into the kitchen and stopped as I saw Yew once again reading. I would never understand his obsession with reading.
I slowly walked past him to the bread and put a piece in my mouth, but soon spit it out. I sighed as I threw it away and laid my head on the counter like I was a fussing small child. Yew looked up and stood up walking over and wrapped his arms around me. I sighed a little in relief for another warmth against my body. Yew pulled back alarmed by how hot I felt and lightly pulled away.
I rose my head to look at him and he rose a hand and touched my face. His fingertips grazing my cheek bones causing my face to heat up. His fingers were so cold from the winter air and his cheeks were Rosie from cold. "You're burning up," he said and I pulled away and shook my head.
" I'm fine," I said and turned to grab my scabbard that I had laid on the counter. I stopped as Yew grabbed my wrist and I looked over at him and glare.
" No. You're not," he yelled at me and I slowly shook my head. " You're in no condition to do your duties. I demand you to stay home and rest".
" Demand? You may be the leader of the crystal Cavaliers, but away from the field you have no right to order me around," I glared and he starred at me for a moment. I slowly shook my head and he looked away.
" I just don't want you hurt. You mean... a lot to me Janne," he whispered and I looked away and I slowly shook my head not knowing what to say. Yew slowly loosened his grip on my wrist and ran it up to intertwine our fingers. A blush covered his face as he looked at our hand so delicately intertwined as if they could break any moment. I slowly shook my head once more.
" I have a job to do. If I don't help it will be all on you and that isn't very fair is it?," I said feeling as if I found a reasonable argument against him. He sighed and looked at our hands once more as I slowly pulled away.
" Then I will take a sick day to," he smiled as he said it and I opened my mouth to protest but nothing came out so he continued to talk. " I can give other the list of duties and he and his men can do them. There is nothing special other than loading and paperwork so that's settled. I will stay here with you".
" Normally I would protest," I said as I grabbed my scabbard," but I can see no matter what you are going to do this. I'm not willing to fight with you today". I sighed and slowly began walking towards the door with Yew following.
" Wow. You really are sick," he said in astonishment and I glared at him annoyed by his comment. I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bed slowly closing my eyes. Yew smiled and walked over and laid next to me. He starred at the ceiling for a few minutes and then looked at me.
" What are you looking at?," I mumbled through my arm and he smiled a little and laughed. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at him for a moment and smiled but hid it with my arm.
" I'm looking at you," he said and I sighed as he continued to laugh. I slowly rose my head slightly to look at him and shook my head.
" There isn't much to look at," I said and he shook his head and hugged me. I slowly got on my knees to hug him back and buried my face in his neck. Yew smiled and squeezed me before pulling back.
" There is plenty to keep me busy for a long time," he said and I shook my head and laid back down. I sighed as he cuddled up next to me and I slowly closed my eyes. I turned to face him and our noses lightly touched. My heart skipped beats and my face heat up as Yew blushed as well and we slowly leaned in.
The door flew open and Nikolai walked in holding his staff tight. I flew out of my bed and stood in front of him and Yew stood up soon after. Both of our faces red and felt like they were on fire.
" I heard you were sick," he said looking at me and Yew who was holding his breath. " I came to heal you so you can carry on your duties," He said and I sighed. That was the best news I have heard in awhile. I looked over at Yew and blushed as I imagined what would have happened if it wasn't for Nikolai. I owe the old man a favor. Still... what would such a kiss feel like? One with someone who hate but at the same time love.
Sounds to complicated for me to figure out.
