Night in the Forest

Yasmin's POV

"So how did you end up emperor Kuzco's bride?" he asks me.

"Mum summoned me home had me dressed as a bride and sent me to the palace. There were seven other girls, more beautiful then me. But he liked my attitude and picked me" I explain.

"So you don't love him?" Pacha asks me.

"Don't know him well enough and so far I want to kill him" I tell him. "Especially, as if I wasn't his bride. I'd probably be human right now" I state.

"Who do you think did this to you both?" he asks me.

"If I had to blame someone, it'd be Kuzco's former advisor Yzma. He fired her just before you arrive and she did not look happy. Though I don't understand I what I did to get her wrath also" I tell him. We hear a balloon pop, shortly followed by a scream. "That's Kuzco!" I shout and we run to a cliff.

We see Kuzco on another cliff cornered by a pride of jaguars. "We gotta save him" Pacha states.

"How?" I ask him worried. He looks around and grabs a thick vine. He slings me onto his back.

"Hang on tight" he tells me and swings off of the cliff. "Aah-eee! Aah!" he shouts and we swing pass them. "Ahh!" he screams swinging us around. He uses his free arm to grab Kuzco before he was eaten by the jaguars. "Don't worry, Your Highness. I gotcha. You're safe now" Pacha tells him.

We suddenly slam into a broken tree trunk. The vine wraps around us, tying us to the try. Me in between the two guys. Both of them on opposite sides of the trunk. "Maybe I just new to this whole rescuing thing, but this, to me, might be considered kind of a step backwards, wouldn't you say?" Kuzco asks us.

"You could be dead" I remind him.

"It's--It's OK. This--This is all right. We can figure this out" Pacha tells us. The trunk starts to break.

"I hate you" Kuzco tells Pacha. The trunk breaks and we fall. Landing in the river below. When we surface, we cough up water. But are still tied to the tree trunk. "I don't know about you both, but I'm getting all funned out" he tells us.

"Same" I tell him shaking my head the best I can.

"Uh oh" Pacha says and I turn my head gasping.

"Oh no" I whimper.

"Don't tell me. We're about to go over a huge waterfall" Kuzco says sarcastically.

"Yes" I whimper trying to break free.

"Sharp rocks at the bottom?" he asks.

"Most likely" Pacha says in a monotone.

"Bring it on" Kuzco tells us. We go over the edge screaming. We hit the water again and the trunk breaks. I swim over to shore as Pacha saves an unconscious Kuzco.

"He breathing?" I ask him and he shrugs.

"Your Highness. Your Highness, can you hear me? Oh, boy. Come on, breathe. Breathe!" Pacha says.

"Give him CPR" I tell him. He looks at me surprised. "I'm a llama, I can't do it" I state. He sighs opening Kuzco's mouth and his tongue pops our.

"Ohh. Why me? Ooh! All right" Pacha groans. He lines down to blow air into Kuzco's lungs. When Kuzco suddenly wakes and Pacha pulls away as they both gag. I laugh my head off, that was hilarious. Pacha starts to try lit a fire as Kuzco rinses his mouth.

"For the last time, it was not a kiss" I tell him. He spits the water on Pacha's small fire.

"Well, whatever you call it... it was disgusting" he states. "And if you would've done what I ordered you to do in the first place, we all could've been spared your little kiss of life" he adds. "Why couldn't you of down it?" he asks me with a whine.

"I'm a llama, not built to give CPR" I tell him. He rolls his eyes and uses Pacha's poncho to dry himself. Before tossing it on the new small fire Pacha had made.

"But now that you both are here, Pacha will take us back to the palace. I'll have Yzma change us back, and then I'll start construction on Kuzcotopia.  And we'll marry.Oh, yeah" Kuzco states.

"OK, now, look, I think we got off on the wrong foot here" Pacha says as he hangs his wet poncho on a branch. Kuzco hums in acknowledgment. "I think if you really thought about it, you'd decide to build your summer home on a different hilltop" he states.

"I agree, there are plenty of other free ones" I state.

"And why would I do that?" Kuzco asks us.

"Because... deep down, I think you'll realize that you're forcing an entire village out of their homes just for you" I tell him.

"And that's... Bad?" he asks confused.

"Well yes, no one is that heartless" I tell him.

"Mmm. Now take us back" he orders Pacha.

"What? Wait, wait. How can you be this way? All you care about is building your summer home and filling it with stuff for you. And a future wife, that doesn't love you" Pacha says hotly.

"Uh, yeah. Doy. Me and my bride. Everyone else in the kingdom gets it. You two are the only ones that doesn't seem to be with the program, eh, Pacha? Yasmin?" he asks us.

"You know what? Someday, you're going to wind up all alone, and you'll have no one to blame but yourself" I snap. I lay down with my back to him.

"Thanks for that. I'll log that away. Now, for the final time, I order you to take me back to the palace" he tells Pacha.

"Looks to me like you're stuck out here. 'Cause unlese you change your mind, I'm not takin' you back. And Yasmin won't ever fall for you" Pacha tells him. Kuzco throws a small rock at Pacha. Before going to curl up by a rock wall away from the fire, Pacha finally starts.

"He's never gonna change his mind" I tell Pacha.

"You never know" he tells me. A few hours we hear Kuzco'z teeth chattering from the cold.

"Please do something about that, or I'll never fall asleep" I tell Pacha pleadingly. He takes his now dry poncho and drapes it over Kuzco's shivering form. He stops shivering as Pacha returns to the fire. "Finally, peace and quite" I say and fall asleep happily.
