Ch. 4 I will love Lucia with all my heart
Lucia sat on Pacha's lap, looking at everyone. She saw Diego and Juan making funny faces at her to entertain her. She turns her gaze to the left and sees Chicha and Fabiana conversing about what they should make to eat when Chicha and Pacha's fathers come.
Lucia's ocean-blue eyes blinked, and she lifted her head, seeing Pacha looking gloomy. She frowned since she didn't like seeing her Papa looking worried.
" Papa!" Lucia called out, grabbing Pacha's attention.
" Hm?" Pacha looks down at Lucia.
" Smile!" Lucia brightly smiled.
Pacha's gaze softened. Even though he is worried about the Chief coming to his home to meet Lucia, seeing the young girl smiling at him warmed his heart.
A knock on the door grabbed everyone's attention. Chicha turned her gaze to Pacha, and the two looked at each other with a knowing stare. They knew their fathers had arrived to meet their family's newest addition.
Diego and Juan walked towards the door and opened it. They smiled when they saw their father, Santiago, with the Village's Chief, Izan.
" Hi, Dad! Hi Chief!" Diego and Juan greeted.
Santiago and Izan entered the house and watched Diego and Juan close it since the Villagers were trying to catch a glimpse of Lucia.
" Hello, my Sons. Thank you for looking after the girls when Pacha was out." Santiago greeted while looking at Diego and Juan.
Diego and Juan nodded. The twins turned and walked towards Chicha and Fabiana to keep them company.
Pacha stood when he saw Izan enter the house. He looks at the Chief while holding Lucia in his arms securely.
" Hello, Father." Pacha greeted.
Lucia's ocean-blue eyes blinked, looking worried, when she sensed Pacha's nervousness towards Izan.
Izan looked at Pacha and frowned when he saw his son looking at him warily. " Pacha. You know I will never hurt you and your loved ones. You are the only family I have left." He speaks.
Pacha looks at Izan, Chicha, and Lucia.
" I know. But, ever since you became Chief. I must ensure my family's safety first before the Village's safety." Pacha firmly speaks. " I cannot risk you exploiting my daughter because of her divine status." He snapped.
Lucia hugged Pacha tightly when she sensed her father's anger towards Izan.
Fabiana opened her mouth to say something, but one look from Chicha caused her to stop.
" Pacha. I am not going to exploit your daughter." Izan calmly speaks. " All I want is to meet my Granddaughter." He reassured.
" You can meet your Granddaughter after you tell these people to leave." Pacha gently pats Lucia's back while motioning to the Villagers outside his house.
" Of course." Izan nodded.
Pacha watched Izan walk towards the door, open it, and step out, closing it behind him.
Fabiana turns her gaze to Chicha.
" Why are you letting your husband treat the Chief that way?" Fabiana softly asked Chicha.
Chicha turns her gaze to Fabiana.
" Mom. Even though the Gods blessed us with their child, Pacha and I would want her to have a normal childhood." Chicha responded. " And we do not want her to feel pressured to do whatever the Village plans for her to do." She turns her gaze to Lucia.
Lucia snuggles against Pacha, wanting to comfort him.
" But the girl is the Village's blessing." Fabiana looks at Chicha. " She can command the rain and sun all over our crops so we can have food for seasons and seasons." She reasons with her daughter.
Chicha opens her mouth to say something, but Diego and Juan cut her off.
" Mama!" Diego wraps his arm around Fabiana's shoulders.
" Our beautiful, beautiful Mama." Juan stood at the other side of Fabiana, causing her to look at her sons.
" How would you feel if people asked Chicha to do things for them?" Diego looked at Fabiana.
" And not have a normal childhood like the rest of the children?" Juan looked at Fabiana.
" Knowing our sister." Diego and Juan turned their gaze to Chicha. " She would have used those powers against the Village and destroyed everything because they saw her as a tool, not as a person." They spoke in unison.
Chicha blushes, getting embarrassed since her older twin brothers know her best.
" So, it is for the best that our adorable niece gets raised like a normal child, and it's her choice if she wants to help out the Village or not when she gets older." Diego and Juan looked at Chicha with loving gazes.
" Fabiana. Izan and I agreed that Pacha and Chicha should raise the child how they want to raise her." Santiago speaks.
Fabiana looked at her husband, children, and Lucia with mixed emotions. She could already imagine the whole Village getting destroyed if they forced Lucia to do things for them.
" You are right." Fabiana sighed and nodded.
Chicha's gaze softened, mouthing out a thank you to Diego and Juan.
Diego and Juan winked at Chicha.
Chicha turns her gaze to Santiago. " Is that what you two came here for, to give us the blessing to raise Lucia?" She asked.
Santiago turns his gaze to Chicha.
" There must be a reason why the Gods have chosen you and Pacha to raise their beloved child," Santiago speaks. " And Izan and I cannot take that responsibility away from you two." He softly smiled. " We cannot risk angering the Gods." He turns his gaze to a painting of the Sun and Ocean Gods in the living room.
Chicha nodded. " I assure you that Pacha and I will raise Lucia with so much love." She warmly smiled.
Santiago nodded.
Outside, Izan stood before the whole Village. He saw everyone holding various gifts to give to Lucia.
" Chief Izan! When will we get to see the young Goddess?" A male villager asked.
" Will she be able to heal my sick child?" A female villager asked while holding a sick toddler.
Izan's hands tightly grasped his cane and stomped it on the ground, grabbing everyone's attention.
" Everyone go home!" Izan shouts, causing the whole Village to whisper, wondering why their Chief won't let them see their young Goddess. " I cannot let everyone see my Granddaughter." He glares.
" We want to see the Young Goddess!" The whole Village begins to chant.
" I figured coming here is a bad idea. Why did I agree to take you here?" Papi looks at Kronk.
" Because I wanted to see the pretty Goddess," Kronk mumbled, getting shy.
Mama Cocha and Inti watched the whole scene unfold on top of a mountain.
" I figured this would happen," Inti murmured. " All people want these days is blessing after blessing." He turns his gaze to Mama Cocha. " They don't appreciate what they have right now." He sighed.
" We should give them a warning that we are watching them." Mama Cocha speaks.
" What's your plan?" Inti asked, looking at Mama Cocha with a smirk.
Mama Cocha's eyes glowed, and she raised her hands to the sky. The usual blue skies begin to turn dark, causing rain to fall in the Village. Soon thunder begins to roar, with lightning following it.
Everyone stopped chanting to look at the sky.
" Start burning some of the forests." Mama Cocha glanced at Inti.
"Intimidation. I like that." Inti winks.
Inti snapped his fingers, using Mama Cocha's lightning to hit the forest to start the fire.
" Look!" A female Villager shouts while pointing at the forest.
The whole Village turned its gaze to the forest and saw flames heading in their direction.
Izan looked at the disaster with a knowing stare.
" It's a sign! The Gods are disappointed in this Village's behavior towards their daughter." Izan speaks.
Papi picks up Kronk and holds him when he sees the Village start to panic.
" Watch. Everyone is going to freak out when I appear." Inti jumps off the mountain and lands in the fire. He begins to walk towards the Village.
" Show off." Mama Cocha murmured. " But that's what I love about you." She warmly smiled.
" Children of Pimentel!" Inti shouts while stepping out of the burning forest.
" No way." Pacha mouths out when he sees Inti walking out of the forest from inside the house.
" What's going on?" Chicha asked, looking concerned.
Lucia turned her gaze to the window, and her ocean-blue eyes sparkled when she saw Inti. She didn't know why, but the beautiful man outside felt familiar.
" It's the Sun God." Pacha turns his gaze to Chicha and her family. " He must have seen how the whole Village reacted towards Lucia's presence." He whispered.
Fabiana looked at Inti with mixed emotions. Even though she should be in awe that their God is approaching their Village, she feels immense fear.
" He looks so cool." Diego and Juan whispered.
" He must have come to warn the Villagers to leave his daughter alone." Santiago turns his gaze to Lucia.
Lucia continued to stare at Inti with familiarity. She held her hands out to the Sun God, wanting him to carry her since she recalled his warm hands making her feel safe.
" Pa-Pa!" Lucia shouts, causing Pacha to look at her and then at Inti.
" I am going to take her outside," Pacha speaks. He held Lucia close as he walked towards the door, opened it, and stepped out of the house.
" I am going with you!" Chicha shouts. She walks past her parents and siblings to get to Pacha and Lucia.
Pacha, Chicha, and Lucia stepped out of the house, causing Izan to turn and stare at them.
" I told them to go home, but they started chanting. Inti must have heard them and didn't like their behavior, so his appearance must have caused the fire in the forest." Izan explains.
Pacha nodded. He watched Inti approach, unknowingly causing him to hold Lucia protectively.
Inti stopped walking and looked down at Pacha since he was taller than the other male.
" Pa-Pa!" Lucia held her hands out to Inti and smiled at him.
Inti and Pacha turned their gaze to Lucia.
" May I?" Inti asked while looking at Pacha.
" Oh! Um! Of course." Pacha carefully passed Lucia to Inti.
Inti securely holds Lucia and smiles at her fondly.
Chicha approaches Pacha and stands next to him. Izan stood behind them, looking at his son and wife worriedly.
" He's so beautiful," Chicha whispered, looking at Inti in awe. Pacha nodded in agreement.
" We should have presented Lucia to you two personally," Inti speaks, causing Pacha and Chicha to return to reality.
Inti turns his gaze to the Villagers.
All the Villagers bowed to Inti since they didn't know what to do and were scared.
Inti looks back at Pacha and Chicha.
" My husband and I wanted our daughter to understand what it is like to be human." Mama Cocha speaks, causing the trio and Lucia to watch her appear before them.
"We believe you two are perfect for raising our little girl." Inti tickles Lucia's stomach, causing her to giggle.
Pacha and Chicha felt touched and honored that their Gods chose them to raise Lucia.
" Your Highness. I mean, Lord Inti." Pacha speaks, causing Inti to look at him. " I assure you I will love Lucia with all my heart and raise her and care for her as though she is biologically mine." He bows his head.
" We will teach her so many things," Chicha reassured while looking at Mama Cocha.
" And she will grow up to be loved, cared for, and respected." Pacha and Chicha looked at each other.
Inti and Mama Cocha smiled at Pacha and Chicha.
" All we want is for Lucia to get raised like a human. No responsibilities until she is old enough to decide if she wants to help out in the Village." Mama Cocha turns her gaze to Izna.
Izna nodded.
" And please do not hurt her because if I hear someone hurts her, there will be consequences." Inti firmly speaks.
All the Villagers nodded, sensing anger radiating off of the Sun God.
" That is all." Mama Cocha waved her hand, causing the rain to fall on the forest, calming the fire.
" Be a good girl to your parents, Lucia," Inti whispered while lovingly kissing Lucia's fire-red hair.
Lucia nodded. She yawned, getting tired since Inti's warmth made her sleepy.
" We will always be there for you." Inti softly speaks. He gently passed Lucia to Pacha.
Pacha held Lucia close and smiled when he felt the young girl cuddling against him.
Chicha looked at Lucia with a loving gaze. She turned to look at Inti and Mama Cocha and watched them disappear.
Izna watched the sky turn back to normal. He turns his gaze to the Villagers and tells everyone to go home, which they oblige.
" Pacha. Chicha." Diego and Juan approached the couple. " We wanted to let you guys know if you two ever need anything. We are here to help you." They smiled.
"Thank you, guys." Chicha warmly smiled, feeling touched.
" We need lots of help since we are now first-time parents." Pacha looks down at Lucia, watching her sleep.
" Fabiana, Chief, and I are also here for you two if you need advice on parenting." Santiago warmly smiled.
" Very much appreciative." Pacha nodded. " Hey, Chicha. Can you take Lucia to our room so that she can rest? I need to talk to my Dad." He turns to Chicha.
" Of course." Chicha nodded. She takes Lucia from Pacha's grasp and holds her close. She turns around and walks towards the house with her parents and siblings following her.
Pacha turns around and looks at Izna.
" Dad," Pacha calls out, causing Izna to turn and stare at him. " I am sorry for the way I acted earlier." He apologizes.
" No need to apologize," Izna reassured. " It's understandable how you felt because you wanted to protect your daughter from getting advantaged by people because of her Godly heritage." He speaks.
" You are welcome to be in her life, you know." Pacha and Izna looked at each other intently.
Izna's gaze softened, and he nodded. He walks towards Pacha, and the two males hug each other tightly.
" I love you, Dad," Pacha whispered.
" I love you too. And I will always be there for you and your family." Izna whispered.
" Thank you." Pacha warmly smiled. He lets go of Izna and escorts him to his house so the two families can celebrate having a new family member.
