Ch. 1 The Preface
A thundering sound awakens a beautiful female with fire-like red hair from her slumber. She opened her eyes, revealing an emerald green color. She looked at her surroundings, seeing the waves crashing against the ship, causing the boat to go up and down.
" Lucille?" A masculine voice speaks, grabbing the beautiful female's attention.
Lucille turns her gaze to the right, seeing her husband, Harold, a handsome male with raven-feather black hair and ocean-like blue eyes, staring at her in worry.
" I need to check up on Elaine," Lucille whispered. She got out of bed, walked out of their bedroom, and approached a door. She opens the door and warmly smiles when she sees her daughter, Elaine, a two-year-old female with fire-like red hair and ocean-like blue eyes looking at her with a scared gaze.
" Did the thunder frighten you?" Lucille softly asked.
Elaine nodded. She held her small arms out to Lucille and smiled when she saw her mother enter the room and hug her.
" Hush now, my baby. Be still now, don't cry." Lucille softly sings while rocking Elaine.
" Sleep like the stream rocks you." Lucille gently kissed Elaine's forehead.
" Sleep and remember, my lullaby." Lucille gently brushed Elaine's fire-like red hair away from her face.
" And I'll be with you when you dream." Lucille's emerald-like green eyes blinked when she heard a crashing sound coming from outside. She looked at Elaine and softly smiled when she saw her daughter asleep.
" Rest well." Lucille tucked Elaine into bed and walked out of the bedroom when she heard footsteps running around the ship.
" What is going on?" Lucille asked while closing the door and seeing Harold leaving their bedroom, fixing his clothing.
" There is fire on the Crow's nest. One of the men says that the lighting struck the Crow's nest, causing it to spread fire all over the ship." Harold explained.
Lucille looked at Harold with a concerned gaze.
" Stay here with Elaine. I am going to help the men out." Harold lovingly kissed Lucille on the lips. He turns around and runs to the main deck to help the crew.
Lucille looked at the closed door where Elaine was sleeping and where Harold went. She lightly bites her lips, feeling conflicted since she wanted to help out, but she also didn't want to leave her daughter defenseless.
Lucille's emerald-like green eyes blinked when she felt something wet. She looked down, and her eyes widened when she saw that her flats got covered by water.
' There's a leak in the ship!' Lucille internally speaks, and she begins to panic. " I have to warn Harold and the others." She whispered.
Lucille looked back at the closed door and decided it was best to get Elaine out of her bedroom. She opened the door and approached her slumbering daughter.
" Elaine. My Sunlight." Lucille whispered awakening Elaine from her slumber. " We need to get going." She grabs her daughter and runs out of the bedroom.
Elaine hugs Lucille, looking confused and scared since she was waking up from her slumber.
" Ma?" Elaine's ocean-like blue eyes stared at Lucille with worry.
" Everything is going to be alright," Lucille reassured. She walks onto the main deck, and her emerald-like green eyes widen when she sees the ship covered with flames and water.
" Traitors! I cannot believe you will leave us like this!" Harold shouts when he sees most crew members leaving the ship in smaller boats.
" Da?" Elaine called out, looking at Harold.
" Harold!" Lucille shouts, causing Harold to turn around and stare at his wife and daughter.
" The ship is sinking," Lucille confessed.
" The ship is also burning fast," Harold responded.
Lucille and Harold looked at Elaine with mixed emotions.
" There is only one boat left, but it can only fit two people," Harold speaks.
Lucille's emerald-like green eyes widened. She had known Harold since they were children and had been married to him for one year. She knew her husband planned to die with the ship while wanting her and Elaine to take the smaller boat.
" I cannot leave you here to die alone." Lucille firmly speaks.
" Elaine needs her mother." Harold firmly responded.
Lucille walks towards the small boat with Elaine in her embrace.
Harold looked relieved, thinking that Lucille and Elaine would leave the ship safely.
Lucille gently sits Elaine on the small boat and looks at her lovingly.
" Ma?" Elaine looked at Lucille with a confused and scared stare.
" Your Father and I love you so much. You will always be our beautiful Sunshine." Lucille teared up and began to bring the smaller ship to the Ocean.
Harold's ocean-like blue eyes widened when he realized what Lucille planned to do.
Lucille watched the smaller ship with Elaine fall onto the ocean waves. She stared at the dark sea with tears falling from her emerald-like green eyes.
" Ocean. Oh, Ocean! Flow gently for me. You have such precious cargo you bear. Do you know somewhere she can be safe? Ocean. Dear Ocean, deliver her there." Lucille sings while watching the smaller ship with Elaine in it sail away.
Elaine's ocean-like blue eyes intently watched the ship, with Lucille and Harold getting smaller and smaller and disappearing among the waves.
" Mama? Dada?" Elaine called out, crawling out of the small boat, but she fell into the dark water.
Unbeknownst to Elaine, struggling to get back onto the small boat, a glowing light swam in her direction. The light transformed into a feminine humanoid figure.
" Shh. Little One. You are safe." A feminine voice speaks, causing Elaine to stop struggling and look at the beautiful light.
" Mama?" Elaine called out, thinking that she was back in Lucille's embrace.
" Close. I am Mama Cocha. Inca Goddess of the Ocean. I have heard a cry from a mother and have come to take you somewhere safe." The feminine voice calmly speaks.
Elaine's ocean-like blue eyes blinked when she saw Mama Cocha for the first time.
Elaine noticed that Mama Cocha had black hair with a blue hue, ocean-like blue eyes, and tan skin, wearing royal attire.
" Shhh. Everything will be alright. I shall take you to a safe place. My Child." Mama Cocha gently kissed Elaine's forehead, causing her to fall asleep in her embrace.
Mama Cocha gracefully glides through the Ocean with Elaine in her embrace. She reached an island, turned her head back, and saw the Sun coming from behind her.
" Cocha. I have seen that you have found a child and claim it as your own?" A masculine voice speaks, causing Mama Cocha to turn to the mountains and see Inti, the Inca Sun God appear.
" A mother prayed to me to save their child and bring them to safety. And I have. However, this child needs love and care." Mama Cocha responded.
Inti appeared beside Mama Cocha and looked at Elaine, slumbering. He lightly grabs some of her fire-like red hair with his fingers.
" Her hair. It reminds me of the Sun." Inti speaks.
" And her eyes are that of the Ocean." Mama Cocha commented.
Inti hummed in response. He carefully takes Elaine from Mama Cocha, causing the Ocean Goddess to eye him.
Inti held Elaine and noticed how small and frail she looked in his big, muscular hands.
" We shall bless her." Inti turns his gaze to Mama Cocha.
Mama Cocha nodded. She lightly puts her hand on top of Inti's hand on Elaine's back. She and her husband closed their eyes as they claimed Elaine. For protection, they blessed her with some of their divine gifts.
" The son of the Village's Leader is approaching." Mama Cocha opened her Ocean-like blue eyes.
Inti nodded. He watched Mama Cocha take Elaine from his embrace and gently place her on the boat with the name Pacha carved on the side.
" Little One. You might not remember who you are. But, you will get loved by so many people." Inti whispered as he and Mama Cocha disappeared within the morning mist.
A twenty-two-year-old male with black hair and chocolate brown eyes named Pacha arrived at the beach to do his morning fishing routine. He approached his boat, and his eyes widened when he saw a beautiful little girl with fire-like red hair wearing royal attire asleep in his fishing boat.
