"Lotor," Keith spoke in an authoritative tone of voice. "Drop it."

"Oh, Keith." Lotor flashed a nefarious smirk. "Do you really want nations to be erased from existence just because of your emotional unstableness?"

"Why are you doing this, you brat?" you asked.

"Earth took everything from me. . ." he dramatically answered.

"He's never even gone there—" Lance said from the back.

"True, very true—BUT STILL!" Lotor held up the enabler. You all gasped at the sudden movement. "Now, hand over Voltron. Unless you want cataclysm."

"You'll only do the same thing with Voltron!" Pidge countered.

Lotor grinned. "Why must you have so little trust for me?"

"Is that a trick question?" you groaned.

"Backtalking will get you nowhere."

"No, but this will." Lance whipped out a deck of cards. You all looked at him, unimpressed. "Misdirection~" Lance vocalized, before the cards fell onto the floor. He then hunched over and pouted.

"What the chiz, Lance." Keith lifted his eyebrow in a judgmental way.

"Am I a joke to you?" Lotor asked.

When all hope seemed lost, an Ex Machina dialed its way into the situation. The door to the elevator opened up, revealing Matt and his furry friends.

"GET'EM, GUYS!" Matt screeched. All the furries darted at Lotor, leaving him in complete shock. After being stampeded, Shiro ran over and picked up the enabler for the eon cannon.

"WHERE'S THE EARRINGS?" you shouted over the noise.

"I GOT THEM," Lance assured, holding them up. Man, he was fast. So, that's the time you had to make your exit.

Just as you and the others stepped into the elevator, Haggar woke up. She unexpectedly charged in your direction and began powering up her magic—causing Keith to pull you back into a protective embrace. You screwed your eyes shut and prepared for the worst. Hunk and Lance aimed their Bayards at her, but right before anything bad happened, the elevator doors closed. A loud thud was heard as the hag slammed into it.

"Ha." Pidge grinned.

You trembled and looked up at Keith. He stared down at you in concern, asking, "(Y/N), are you okay??"

"I think—"

"Are you sure? That was a pretty rough fight and if you got hurt, I could never forg—"

Stopping Keith mid sentence, you abruptly placed your hand on his cheek and pulled him toward you, ending that tense moment with an endearing kiss. He widened his eyes, unsure of what to do or say next. He felt as if he was going to have a heart attack, but knowing that you were safe and sound in his arms—gave him an overwhelming sense of peace. Keith then closed his eyes and returned the kiss.

Pulling back after a few seconds, you admitted, "We could be on Earth, an unknown planet—or even Zarkon's ship in outer space with an evil witch trying to kill us. It doesn't matter because as long as I'm with you, I feel safer than I've ever felt before."

He carefully stroked your messy hair before replying in a soft tone, "From the day I first met you, I didn't think I'd care about you as much as I do now. With that being said, I won't let anyone lay a finger on you."

As you and Keith gazed into each other's eyes, you both completely forgot you had an audience. Pidge and Hunk we're probably dead from all the shipping fuel, Lance was just screaming inside, and Shiro couldn't help but watch in awe.

Keith then broke the moment and looked at them. "Staring is rude."

"Oh, right." Shiro looked away awkwardly, all while trying to contain his smile. Pidge and Hunk were shaking uncontrollably, since they were practically waiting for you two to kiss since day one. Lance only started sobbing into Shiro's arm.

"We're gonna get through this," Keith assured, taking your hand. You looked at him and nodded eagerly.

"What do we do with the earrings though?" Hunk asked.

"We need to destroy them or something," Shiro suggested.

"Well, let's just throw them into the sun or whatever," you answered.

"Maybe we should. . ." Keith held his chin and pondered. "Could we shoot them off in a pod or something?"

Pidge joined in, "I think so. That's a good idea—we just need to get back on the Castle, that's all."

After the elevator stopped—you all made a break for it and headed where the Lions were parked. It was challenging trying to get back, but it was a success. After escaping several Galra soldiers, you found them.

"Time to go, guys!" Shiro said as he hopped into the Black Lion. You ran inside the Red Lion, clutching onto Keith's seat. You knew it was going to be a bumpy ride.

"Alright!" Keith sat down, revving up the engine. "Time to get rid of these forsaken earrings, once and for all."

"JUST GO ALREADY," you shrieked out of anxiousness.

Eventually, they did just that and zipped off.

In a way, you couldn't believe it. Your team had the earrings now, and you didn't even think you'd get out of this alive. But it wasn't over yet, there would probably be an entire army of Galra chasing you.

"And I was right," you said to yourself. Keith heard your words, unsure of what you were referring to.

"Wha?"

"The Galra are chasing us—" you alerted. He looked back and saw this.

"Oh, great. We're gonna have to get rid of these earrings really quick." Keith turned on his radio channel and messaged the other Paladins, "THEY'RE COMING AFTER US, JUST SHOOT THE EARRINGS INTO THE SUN OR SOMETHING—"

"LANCE—YOU STILL HAVE THEM?" Shiro shouted.

"YEAH, I'LL SEND THEM OFF."

It was like a race between Team Voltron and the Galra. Keith's haywire piloting was starting to give you vertigo. You could barely hold on due to all the barrel rolls and flips he was pulling. After a few seconds, a chair spawned for you to sit on. And of course, you did. Thank goodness for that.

Lance placed the earrings in a small pod—preparing it for takeoff.

"I'm going to have to fly closer to the sun," Lance spoke. Probably the most illogical thing you've heard today—but the logic dropped a long time ago.

"Alright," Shiro responded. "Don't get too close because there's only so much the Lions can take. We'll cover for you."

"Alright." Lance steered the Blue Lion in the direction of that star.

"I mean, I guess it's better that it's Lance instead of someone else doing it," you remarked.

"HEY, I HEARD THAT!" Lance whined.

"YOU WERE MEANT TO!"

Keith sent the Red Lion in the direction of the Galra. He was now attempting to fight off the enemy ships heading in the direction of Lance. You fretfully searched out the window. You've never experienced so much anxiety before in your life. It was almost like the grand fight scene in a movie at a cinema—except this time it was real. More real than you ever wanted, to be frank. Every time a lazar fired off in the distance, you couldn't help but let out a shriek.

"It's okay!" Keith attempted to reassure. "When Lance gets rid of that necklace, we're hitting hyperdrive and we're bailing."

"I just want a nice, hot bath after this," you mumbled. Your anxiety hit the top of the meter once again because Shiro nearly scraped the side of the Red Lion. This made you grab Keith's radio and screech, "WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING, SUNDAY-DRIVER!"

Keith blocked his ear with his hand due to the ringing you caused him.

"I DIDN'T DO IT ON PURPOSE!" he defended himself.

"UGH!"

Finally, just when it seemed that things were starting to take a fall for the worst—Lance got close enough to shoot the earrings out. When he did, it was victorious.

"GUYS! THE EARRINGS ARE GONE, WE CAN GET OUT OF HERE!"

Keith slammed the hyperdrive lever back—along with the others. It was a triumph.

You finally got rid of those stupid earrings.
