Previously...
Rushing, you unlocked your bedroom door and quietly raced to your bed, taking your phone out immediately. "It's Friday! I don't do it on Friday!"
"Right right I forgot I'm sorry!"
"Don't worry about it!"
And now...
You were still totally shocked. You hadn't really been expecting to make out with anyone as soon as you got home - especially with Micheal of all people. You were shocked, but slightly happy. Hell, making out with people is great, but also watching Micheal finally learn how to display emotions so much better than he had previously. Sighing, you rolled over in bed so that you were facing the wall rather than the door. Smiling to yourself again, you put on a lofi live stream on YouTube, and drifted off to sleep.
You were awoken rather abruptly at about 6:30 by a loud ding from your phone. Groaning, you rubbed your eyes and sluggishly tried to sit up. Failing miserably, you flopped back onto your pillow and stared at the ceiling. Picking up your phone, you saw it was a text from Tyler.
T: Hey (Y/N), wanna go 4 a drive 2 downtown in a bit?
Y: of course. Just gotta tell my parental unit(s).
T: cool cool. I'll be there in about 12 minutes if she says yes.
Y:alrighty
Throwing your phone down, you stood up from your bed, awake at last, and stretched. You stumbled out of your room and down the stairs, still yawning.
"Hey parental unit!"
"I'd prefer if you called me (mom/dad/genderless parent)."
"Of course. Sorry. But Tyler just asked me if i wanted to go to downtown with him."
"Will he be here soon?"
"Yea."
"Well, just be home before midnight, one at the latest."
"You're the best. Thank you!"
Smiling, you dashed up the stairs, and threw on some fresh clothes. You went for that 80s style that's popular right now. ET shirt, tucked into some black mom jeans, and a nice kimono jacket to put over it. "Makeup," you thought. But did you really need it? (If you want it just pretend like you did and if you don't want it that's cool too. It won't be specific to whether or not you wear makeup it's cool.)
Three minutes later, Tyler was at your door knocking. One of your parental units answered the door and greeted him. You went downstairs, smiling.
"Hey Tyler!"
"(Y/N)! Hey! You look great!"
Grinning, you turned to the parental unit.
"Do you remember what times i said," they asked.
"Midnight preferably, but 1 at the latest."
"There we go."
You hugged them goodbye, and stopped outside with Tyler.
"A perfect night!" The air was reasonably cool and you turned your face up to the sky, your eyes closed.
You hopped into the passenger seat of the car, and Tyler started the engine. Pretty soon, you were driving into the outskirts of downtown. You hadn't been here before, so you were staring at all the lights and different attractions and restaurants in amazement. You heard a chuckle. Whipping your head around, you playfully glared at Tyler.
"What's so funny," you said in a pouty voice.
"Oh you just look so happy to be here, and you stare so mesmerized by all the sights and sounds, it's adorable really. And I hadn't even gotten a chance to say it yet I've been so flustered, but you look beautiful and handsome. That aesthetic really suits you, and that kimono jacket is to die for."
You blushed, and it was incredibly obvious.
"Come on," Tyler said as he parked the car outside of a ramen shop. He leapt out quickly and before you could even reach for the door handle, it was open, with Tyler bowing you out of the car. Laughing, you stepped out and bowed slightly to him in return. He too was laughing, as he took your hand and lead you in.
To sum the place up, it was the best thing you had ever been to. The charm of the place was so authentic feeling, incredibly like a traditional Japanese ramen shop — with all the modern commodities of course. The entirety of the staff were kind and friendly, happy to do what you ask as long as you asked politely. You had no idea what to get, and according to Tyler the portions were rather large, so he ordered a ramen for both of you to share, and a Japanese soda for the both of you (your flavors are: strawberry, orange, original, melon, and grape). The Tonkotsu ramen was delicious. The pork was so tasty and juicy, and even you - with your lack of experience - could tell that the noodles had been made in house. Full to the absolute brim, you and Tyler left while chatting animatedly about various things, repeatedly going over the food and greatness of the place in general. You walked around for a bit, all the while receiving compliments from Tyler and all sorts of affection. Before the night rounded off, he had one more surprise left.
"Hey (Y/N), you like movies?"
You nodded furiously.
"Well, I know a place that plays the best movies, and even lets you bring your own snacks!"
Smiling mischievously, Tyler dipped in the convenience store to buy some candy and other snacks. He came out minutes later with a bulging plastic bag.
"All set," he asleep you.
"Ready when you are."
Smiling, he opened the door for you yet again, and you stepped in. He went around, stepped in as well, and put the bag of goodies in the back.
"Hey (Y/N), wanna see something cool?"
He pushed a button in his car, and suddenly the roof began to move back, letting in all the smells of the night air, and the lights delved in from the ever growing cracks. It was better than you could've imagined.
"Tyler this is so cool! How'd you even get this car?"
At that simple question, he turned red and started the engine. You were suspicious definitely, but shrugged it off you had an idea of what was happening.
You drove out of the city more towards the artsy part of downtown, and talked the whole way. Random topics weaseled their way in, including a competition to finish the vine. You had no idea where you were, but didn't really care, as you had someone you trusted in your life. He started slowing down, and pulled in to this fenced in empty lot. Well, not actually empty. A movie was playing, and you knew where you guys were.
"The drive-in movie theatre! Oh man this is awesome!"
Smiling, you perked up in your seat to look around more. You saw that (some old romance movie) was playing and you were ecstatic. Hell you might not've even know the movie, but you were happy at being at a drive in theatre in general. Tyler paid for your tickets and pulled into a spot, with audio boxes right next to your windows. He pushed the button again and the rood returned. Reaching in the back, Tyler grasped blindly for the bag, but eventually found it. Opening it, he handed you (your favorite candy) and (your favorite cold drink).
"Awwww Tyler, you know what I love!" You hugged him happily, and he eagerly returned it.
You two sat in silence for a while, enjoying the movie and each other's company. You had finished only a third of your candy halfway through, as that ramen filled you up. You leaned you head back against the headrest of the car seat and closed your eyes. Tyler did the same, but when you opened them you saw him staring at you.
"Is there something on my face?" (Look at you, ever the romantic)
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
"Then why're you staring?" To this he did not answer but instead smiled timidly at you. This made you blush, and you moved you arms around as they were a tad bit uncomfortable. He took your hand, and you din't expect it. Your hands had been so cold, the warmth of his really surprised you.
"(Y/N), you... you're beautiful. Not just that, you're the best person I've ever read the luck of meeting, and i cat believe we've managed to be friends for this long. I just... I love everything about you. There's not a single flaw I could point out, for even if there is one, there is a positive thing that will outweigh it tremendously."
"Tyler..." you began, but didn't get to finish as Tyler kissed you.
It was such a cliche, such a classic trope that you smiled to yourself and laughed the smallest bit. Tyler frowned a bit, and was about to pull away, when you grabbed him and kissed him right back.
(A/N): tell me this wouldn't be the best date ever. And let me tell you, Japan is actually the best at everything. Beauty is 10/10, people are 10/10, everything, is 10/10. Welp, this is the end of this chapter. It was a lot easier to type as I got a Bluetooth keyboard for my iPad to make it easier to type and take notes in general. Tadaaaaaaaaaa.
