"Hey kid, how are you holding up over here?" Adam asked, as he walked over to me.

"I'm ok..." I uttered, while sweeping the floor in the seating area.

"Are you sure? you were acting a little off today," he noticed.

"Wow...! That whole in tune with me thing that you do, yeah... it's definitely starting to become a little suspect," I said, sarcastically.

"Suspect?!" he repeated and chuckled, "to know you is to love you kid..." he carried on saying.

"Guess you're right about that," I agreed.

"But seriously what's up, something on your mind you want to talk about?" he wondered.

"Yeah, there is... but if I tell you, you have to promise you won't get too excited, promise?"

"I promise," he said, as he became curious.

"So, you remember the guy that came in a few days ago that I was talking with?"

His eyes rolled to the ceiling, as he stood there trying to remember.

"Oh my god Adam... the guy that helped me with the flat tire," I said, staring at him.

"Oh yeah... I remember, so what about him?" he asked.

"Well I'm supposed to go hangout with him tomorrow night, and I'm a little freaked out about it, that's all," I sighed.

"Hold on! you mean you're going out on a date?" he asked, as a smile grew upon his face. "I guess... if that's what you want to call it," I said, as I finished sweeping the floor.

"Kid that's great!" he responded and grabbed me for a hug.

"Ugh... Adam...! you promised you wouldn't get too excited."

"I'm sorry, but this is good news," he grinned.

"Yeah... so you and Jess both said," I replied, rolling my eyes.

"You think it's not?"

"I'm not really sure..." I sighed.

"Well you won't know until then, so just go and try to have a good time," he insisted.

"I guess there's no harm in trying, huh..." I replied, trying to convince myself.

"Exactly!"he said, with a smile.
