It was 4p.m. and my shift was now ending, "Adam!" I yelled across the room to him.

"I'm about to clock out, you'll be ok right?"

"Go ahead... someone will be in shortly," he responded.

I took off my apron as I walked to the breakroom, and snatched my jacket off of the hook. As I clocked out and headed back to the front, I grabbed a danish and a bottle of water and yelled out to Adam, "Okay... I'll see you later!"

"Okay kid! and be safe," he warned, as he looked at me with hard eyes.

"Yup..." I replied, as I walked out.

I pulled out my phone to text Jess as I started the car, to let her know that I would be home later.

The drive was silent, no radio playing, nothing. Just me and my thoughts and of course you know where I was heading. Even though I promised Adam and Jess that I would stay away from the wooded area, I couldn't.

I guess they felt like being there was holding me back from moving forward, and maybe it was, maybe I wasn't ready to move forward, I don't know... the only thing that I did know, was that in some crazy way it was comforting, It was the only place that I felt like I could be close to her.
