Emerald Love

After graduation and the proposal, we left to go work at the arts institute.

Months had passed and the wedding had finally arrived.

She wore the ring every single day, threatening me when I tried to take it off and clean it.

We were happy and in love, renting out apartment together.

We've had many firsts that were spent over the course of those months.

I had decided to make love to her on our anniversary, the day we had finally gotten together as a couple.

When we joined together as one, our sweaty bodies pressed together beneath the sheets, I knew I had made the right decision.

The day of the wedding was hectic, having to get the times exact and gathering up bridesmaids.

Our wedding was themed mint tinted, green and white bouquets and seats were everywhere.

The wedding took place on a green plain, the grass freshly cut to perfection.

Everything was ready.

I was at the end of path, my suit a dark green a maroon rose on the suit pocket.

The soft sound of Spanish reggae began playing in the background.

I looked and saw her...

She glided slowly down the walkway, practically hovering above it. 

Her face was covered but her rivers of chocolate still ran down her caramel kissed shoulders.

When she got down to me, she looked up as I lifted the veil.

Her loved filled eyes glancing back at me. 

It came time to exchange vows.

"Eli, when I met you, for the very first time, prom was going on, yet you were sitting outside, tears running down your face, sad. Sadness was not a look I could stand on your angelic face. I offered you a shoulder to cry on, and I stand by that with my life. I was once a love sick fool, but you have woken me up, your emerald eyes granting me love and tranquility in ways like no other. I love you, forever and till the end of time, Eli Thompson".

She was practically sobbing, fanning her face in hopes of not ruining her make-up. 

I could only smile in adoration.

She wiped her eyed before pulling out a paper, like I had once did during graduation.

"That was beautiful. You know, when I first meet you, I was confused. A lady in a suit was talking to me, I didn't even know who you were, and I had never meet you before. But when college came, and we became roommates, I found myself falling in love with you. With every date, my feelings grew. And when you asked me out, that was one of the first best moments of my life. Time went on, and when graduation came, you shocked me beyond words. You proposed, and you told me the words that I will forever return. I love you, more than words can describe, and I will repeat them for the rest of my life".

Her eyes, glistening with love caused mine to tear up.

Only she could drive such emotions out of me.

With our exchange of vows, the priest looked between us, my hands grasping hers.

"Do you, Eli Thompson take her to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

She smiled.

"I do."

"And do you, Miss Prince charming, Zion Seville, take her to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

I smiled back.

"I do."

"Then you may kiss the bride".

She was mine, by law and by love.

She had become my everything and I couldn't have been happier.

I love you, Eli.

Her emerald eyes will always keep me going, filled with love and happiness.
