I love you

The day of graduation.

Much to my expense, most students didn't get to wear maroon colors, instead being left with the plain black ones, the maroon being reserved for valedictorians.

She was valedictorian...

She deserved to wear those colors.

The music played as we walked through the doors of the auditorium, parents of other students cheering and yelling in support.

I didn't care if my caretakers had shown up, the commoners not giving much of care when I left originally.

Once seated, the arts teachers have their speeches, the headmaster giving the longest.

Then they called her up.

Everyone cheered but I cheered the loudest. 

I was so proud of her, and loved her for everything that she is and will ever be to me.

When she finished her speech, she went to leave, but was told to stay on the stage.

Confusion littered her features but she did as she was told.

And then I walked up the stairs, to the love my life.

"What...what are you doing up here?"

"Just give me a moment..."

The headmaster introduced me to the crowd, my hands in my gown robe shuffling around for the paper so I give me speech.

I walked up to podium, scared, but ready for anything.

"Hello everyone. Today is a special night for many reasons, but for me, it's more than that. To night, you have been given a speech from my living girlfriend, the most beautiful valedictorian you will ever see, give her another round of applause".

I smiled at the crowd as they gave her another thundering round of applause, her face slightly cotton candy pink.

"But that is not what I came up here for. This wonderful woman as given me some of the best days of my entire life. I was once a desperate kid, just leaving high school and traveling away from my hometown. When I got here, she was the last person I thought I would've met. We shared a dorm, and from there, blossomed the feelings that I have today. I had been oblivious to how she felt, and I will always feel sorry for that. But through trial and error, we got together and I have spent two amazing year as her girlfriend. I love her more than words can describe, her eyes filled with love for me, and me alone".

I turned around, grasping the mic...

I got down on one knee, gasps and scattered cheers racing through the auditorium.

I opened the box, the large emerald on the rose gold wedding band sparkling just like her eyes.

I smiled up at her, the love for her showing in my eyes.

"Madame Green eyes, Eli Thompson, will you do me the honor of being mine forever in till the end of time?"

"Will you marry me?"

Screams echoed throughout the crowd, cheers rushing up and slamming into my ears.

Tears ran down hers and multiple teachers faces, their eyes lit alight like flames, joy radiating off of them.

...She nodded.

She got down on her knees and hugged me, my smile wide while hers was tearful.

I placed the mic near her mouth since I couldn't hear her whispers over the booming crowd.

She pulled back and leaned into the mic...

"Yes!"

I leaned up and kissed her, for all that she was worth.

I moved the mic away from her face, and placing the ring on her finger.

"I love you Eli"

"I love you too".
