Yes
I threw on some water on my face, hoping that she didn't decide to leave while I got myself ready.
I knew what had to do...
I just had to do it right.
I opened the door, finally somewhat decent and...
She looked just has haggard as me.
We didn't say a word to each other, the tension so thick that it practically oozes from our pores and clings to our clothes in desperation.
She broke the silence first.
"I...I'm sorry I was gone."
"It's okay...its understandable."
"No...what I did was uncalled for and-"
"No it wasn't, you have your reasons."
"Yes it was, and-"
"I'm not done yet".
She instantly grew silent again, waiting for me to continue.
"I...I have been blind to your feelings. All those times, those times when we went out together, we laughed and had such a wonderful time. You had feelings for me, and I had been oblivious."
"It's fine-"
"No it's not, and now that we've been away from each other, I've come to realize...that I really like you. You've made me happier then words alone could describe, you've made me worried for your safety, and comfortable around you. And for that, thank you".
She looked at me, tears in her eyes obvious through my entire speech.
"But...what I really came to tell you, or more less who you, is this" I grasped her hand and gently pulled her into our shared cavern.
Three paintings...
Three paintings dedicated to every single date we have shared together.
"What-"
"These are paintings showcasing few of the best moments in my life, the dates that I've been on with you. From singing in the park, to dancing to Spanish reggae in that small joint restaurant. You've made realize many things, and I've never felted happier than in those moments I've spent with you".
Tears leaked down her face, cascading down her caramel curves in her face, hand clasped over her mouth.
"So what I wanted to ask you......is will you go out with me?"
I pulled the maroon roses out from behind my back, a ribbon tied around then.
Her body stiffened in shock, her eyes widening at my words, glancing from me, to the flowers and back.
As the second after those words left my mouth were deafening, my heart racing.
What if she said no?
Did I read the situation wrong?
But finally...after some intense seconds, she wiped her eyes hastily, before looking at me, and throwing her arms around my neck, hugging me tight.
Tears leaking from her eyes still, a single word was uttered from her magenta lips...
"Yes."
