제41장: Library Mess

Note before reading: If the scenes feel rushed, that means that the book still needs to be revised after completion. As I said, feedbacks are highly appreciated if there are mistakes or anything that you want to let the author know. Lovelots! 💕

After getting the art from Yoonwoo, I decided to go back to the classroom where Gunyeo was. Some of the professors had let the students have some vacant classes but the remaining ones were still going to have a few discussions.

Though, I didn’t expect to bump into Jihun — who was grabbing Naehyun by the ears and immediately pushing him inside of our room. I could already tell that he was pissed by what happened but his eyes seem to soften up as I stared at him in shock.

“If you ever get yourself in a box again, I’ll make sure not to get you out of it,” Jihun reminded Naehyun before huffing and left with a frown plastered on his face. Naehyun, on the other hand, gaze at me and sighed in relief before approaching me.

“Wait, how’d you get out of the box? I was calling out your name,” Naehyun couldn't help but wonder as I only smiled awkwardly, not wanting to tell him that Yoonwoo had already knew that he was on that box.

He would be mad if he knows it from me. Maybe it would be best if Yoonwoo was the one to tell him too since he was the one who thought of the revenge.

“I assure you that you wouldn't like it to come from me," I answered Naehyun. Before he could even ask me further questions, I realized that I still had books to borrow from the library. It was for a research that I needed to finish for next week and if I didn't get them now, I'm sure I still have to go to another library.

I quickly excused myself, hearing Naehyun trying to call me once again. But this time, I left him in the room and rushed upstairs. There was no way that I would walk over to the city's library. I need to get home early so I can really do the paper as soon as possible.

When I finally arrived at the library, I saw that there weren't many students inside. Most of them were reading and I noticed that maybe it was at least 10 to 12 students.

Going to an aisle and going to one of the books about Math, the colors of my face drained when my eyes went up and saw the book that I needed that was too high to reach.

Even my height wouldn't cooperate on this.

“Need a hand?” I heard someone's voice right beside me and I looked to my left to see Jihun watching me struggle with the book that was at the top of the bookshelf.

He wasn't teasing me, which was a good thing. He was just watching with curious eyes and with wide glance when he thought that I was going to climb the shelves just like others do in movies. Id there was a ladder, I'd be Belle.

Though, I just waved at him and laughed.

“Look, I'll try my best. No worries, I think I got this. You can go now." Jihun took this as a hint that he should gove me a bit of space. He was thinking of leaving already when I actually decided to ask for help. For real this time since I really don't know how to get it.

Smiling at Jihun, I pointed the book with the red cover. "This one. I'd like to get that one."

There was no hesitation when he had reached the book. Though, I really thought that he'd hand me the book by giving it to me with his hands. But when I heard him say ‘catch’, I panicked and opened my eyes — only to close it back since the book had already collided with my face.

Taking the book off, I saw Jihun's wide eyes and he then apologized at the sudden incident. “Look, I really thought you'd get the book by catching it with your hands. But I didn't expect it to fall on your face that hard."

“I'm fine. My nose is still good and not broken after that hard cover reached my face.” Jihun only knitted his eyebrows at me.

Suddenly his hand went to my forehead and looked if I got a bump from it. It felt a bit cold so I shuddered and pull myself away. When I told him that nothing was wrong, he then gave me the book I wanted. Opening a few pages, I decided to sit on one of the tables that were empty and jotted down notes.

“Why that book though? Is it for someone?” Jihun questioned me as I was taking down notes. "Surely a huge book like that isn't for your subject."

"It is. For my paper. It's what I need to write down this deadline," I answered before sighing. What I didn't expect was Jihun leaning over to the book to look at it then the notes that I have.

After that, he took my notebook and wrote on it — making instant outlines on it. At first, I really thought that he was messing it a bit so I get distracted on not doing it but as soon as I saw what he was writing, I only smiled.

“If you want to cite credible sources, this is the way. You were making a bit of a messy outline earlier," he stated as I thanked him. After a few minutes, he gave it back to me before he stood up.

“Anyway, have to go. There's still tasks I have to do with the council." When he walked out of the door, I soon followed and went the opposite direction — only to remember the pen he took.

Turning around, I called his name. “Jihun!”

“Can I have my pen back?” I asked him as he showed his hands.

“I don't have your pen!" I quickly noticed the glint that was on his ears so I ran to him and jumped, taking the pen that was on his ears in the process.

He was quite tall and trying tip toes probably wasn't a good idea. He was shocked to see me jump before he calmed down as he saw the pen.

But an immediate flick on the forehead came after.

“Ouch!”

“That's what happens when you scare me like that, shorty."
