Thunderstruck
When FWhip opened his eyes (well, eye- he didn't want to open his right eye as he felt blood trickling over it and that surely couldn't be a good thing), his vision was incredibly blurry. The sizzling sound could barely be heard over the ringing in his ears, and he could smell something that was burnt (smoking? His scales normally smoked slightly anyway, but this smoke smell was much stronger).
The last thing he remembered was flying around and some sort of- blueness covering his vision. He also vaguely remembered the crackling noise. He wasn't sure where that came from though.
A few moments later, the numbness of shock and adrenaline faded as FWhip let out a pained shriek at the sudden searing pain along his right wing and neck- possibly on his right arm as well but he wasn't sure.
He attempted to turn around to look but as his right eye was the one he had closed, the SkyWing dragonet couldn't even attempt to look at whatever his injuries were, and it was causing him immense pain to even move his neck so he just gave up.
FWhip lay there for a few minutes, wondering if this was how he was going to die, alone in a forest struck down by who knows what, when he heard someone humming quietly behind him.
He tensed slightly (if it was even possible to be more tense than he already was, that is), trying to determine whether the other dragon was Joel or Jimmy. By the time he had come to the conclusion that it was neither, the other dragon was already stood in front of him, peering at his right wing with a curious expression.
The dragon wasn't close enough that it was uncomfortable (the stranger seemed slightly wary, probably because FWhip had fallen out of the sky) but was still close enough so that FWhip could make out some details on this mysterious dragon.
They had a soaking wet cloak that was made out of some shiny material- not exactly velvet, but something else (with a hood, he noticed). The stranger's scales were vaguely reminiscent of Pix's, with copper-like colours at the end of their snout, legs and tail, but they faded to a warm brown with white scales scattered all over instead of the pale yellow of a SandWing, so it unfortunately wasn't Pix.
Based on the scale colours and the antennae poking out of two well-placed holes in the hood, FWhip could make out that it was a SilkWing (although he hadn't seen many before- he'd only seen SilkWing hybrids- so this was only a guess).
He then paused as he realised something. Looking at the scales on this dragon, he was pretty sure this was the dragon that he had been shouting to in the midst of the storm- the one he had mistaken for potentially being Jimmy.
The dragon sucked in a breath through their teeth. "Oh, goodness, that is- not pretty." He muttered, pulling his hood down as his brown gaze flicked to FWhip. "Why on earth didn't you take shelter in a storm?"
FWhip tried to snap back a retort, to say that he knew what he was doing thank you very much, but given the fact that he could barely form a coherent thought, it came out as a mumbled protest of, "Thgh."
The dragon laughed. "Very informative. However, flying in a storm is stupid. Lightning can strike you, you know." His gaze flicked to the raindrops evaporating as soon as they hit the slightly smoking scales of the ruby red dragonet. "Even if you're a, um- a...firescales ...SkyWing. Huh."
Oh, is that what happened? FWhip let out a practically unintelligible, "Hrgh?" in response to the stranger's statement.
"Yeah, that's what happened by the way." He glanced at FWhip's wing again. "Lightning strike. I saw it happen- it's a miracle you're not dead, dude- you fell out of the sky. Probably broke something." The SilkWing said with a shrug, before reaching for a bag that FWhip hadn't noticed. "What's your name?" He queried as he produced some sort of glass vial from his bag.
FWhip blinked, wincing and managing to croak, "FWhip."
"Cool name. Drink this." The stranger instructed, putting the vial on the ground and rolling it towards FWhip.
"And how do... you suggest. I do that?" The SkyWing said slowly. The glass will melt as soon as I try to open it, genius. At least, it will right now- I'm feeling... a lot of emotions, so- hot, hot scales.
"Hm. True. I suppose I could take you back to my house?" The SilkWing muttered thoughtfully. "I'd have to wrap up your arm anyway, it's definitely broken, but I'd probably have to wrap it in flamesilk because anything else will melt or spontaneously combust."
FWhip straightened as best as he could. "Now, hang on a- minute- when did I say I- would go with- you?" He said between attempts to catch his breath (this task was very hard).
"Well, you don't really have a choice, do you? I'm not trekking out here every day to give you medicine and stuff, and I'm not gonna leave you here. The burn will probably get infected and then you'll die." The other dragon said calmly, acting so casual that if FWhip didn't know what he was saying, he would have guessed the stranger was talking about one of his hobbies. Not FWhip dying. That's how casual he sounded.
"How would you- even get me- there?" The SkyWing huffed, squinting at the other dragon. "I can't- walk, I don't- think. And I'd burn you if you tried to let me lean- on you." He finished.
"Oh, that's easy! I have semi flame-resistant scales because, you know- flamesilk! So I'll get a very, very mild burn at most." The multi-coloured dragon said brightly.
FWhip sighed. "I don't have- a choice, do I?" He asked reluctantly.
"Nope!" The brown eyed SilkWing said brightly.
