"Do you think we should wake her up?" said a voice I didn't recognize.

"Let her sleep. Its not our fault she overslept." said a voice I did recognize as the chick from yesterday.

"what time is it?" I ask still keeping my eyes closed. I hear a small shriek then hear someone say" 7 o'clock."

"what time do classes start?" I ask still with my eyes closed. "oh and do you know when John will be by?"

"classes start at 8. there's a note here that says he'll stop by at 7:15. Why is he coming by anyway?"

"he's my mentor." I say while getting up. "what are the guidelines for what we wear."

"Whatever is in your dresser you can wear and any shoes you got."

I look in the dresser and see black tights, skirts in soild red and plaid red, black dress pants, then red or black V-neck tshirts and jackets, also red sweaters. and of course underwear and socks.

I pick up a pair of dress pants, underwear and red V-neck. as I go to the bathroom to change I notice that the other girls uniform is different with the girl form last night in blue and the other one in green. I got dressed, peed, combed my hair, washed my face, and brushed my teeth.

when I got out the girls were still there so I asked, "why are your uniforms different colors?"

"we specialize in a different element so we have a different color.so let me introduce ourselves. I'm Rosa and she's Lucy."

right at that moment someone knocked on the door. which I was thankful for since that gives me an excuse to not give my name. At the door was John.

Deciding to continue what I did yesterday I continue giving him the silent treatment. (which is a childish but effective way to piss someone off)
He gives me tour of the place showing me the cafeteria (which was the size of a ballroom but filled with tables), the grounds/garden, the normal(ish) classrooms, training rooms, and gym.
While giving me the tour he tried talking to me and asking me questions, but I never answered once and keep a blank face acting like I never heard.

Once done with the tour he toke me to the cafeteria then gave me my schedule. It showed :

1- supernaturals : people and customs professor sweets

2- world history Professor Smith

3- elemental training

4- lunch

5- fighting

6- study hall

7- drama Mrs.Night

8- honors geometry Mrs. Morse

"class starts in 15 minutes do you want me to take you to your class?"

I shake my head no then head out to find my first bell. ten minutes later I hit another dead end and could officially say that I was lost. as I turn around I see John standing there smirking at me.

"do you want me to take you to your class?" he says.

I nod my head yes.

"You have to say it out loud. just say please take me to my class then I will show you."

I contemplate on what to do. get shown to a class that I don't want to be in on time and putting aside my pride or staying lost but my pride is still intact. easy answer. I shake my head no. minutes pass with each of us not saying anything waiting for the other to cave in. the bell that signals class begins rang when John finally caves saying it's his job to make sure I get to class.

when we get there Prof. sweets just finished attendance. then John says "sorry she's late. she got lost and I had to find her and bring her here. she's so forgetful and clumsy." I glare at him for saying the last part. john then quickly leaves.

"you must be Ember. will you tell us three things about yourself?"

since john wasn't there anymore there was no reason not to talk so I said, "I love to read, I'm scarred for life for seeing my roommate having sex in front of me yesterday, and I really don't want to be at this school. where should I sit?"

"sit any where you want. Sarah will you get her a book. Today we will be reviewing since there's a new student. you all should know the drill. what are the six major supernatural species?" Prof. Sweets said as I walk to the back row and sit down.

"elves, fairies/fae, mermaids/sirens, witches, werewolves, and vampires." 

"good. what is the main thing we will be learning in here?"

"the government, people who run it and other need to know facts of a species."

the rest of the class went on like that with him asking questions while the student answer. the bell went off signaling the end of class. before we could leave he asked Sarah to take me to my next bell class.

"so did you really see your roommate have sex?"

"sadly yes. I was reading when they walked in already pretty much having sex as they walked to her bed. they didn't even notice me until I said for them to stop."

"I feel sorry for you. is your roommate named Lucy by any chance?"

"yes." I said as we walked in. the teacher was a middle age women with some grey hairs but the rest were blonde.

"there is a new student so I'm going to do a quick review before going on. All the major and some minor wars are caused by supernaturals. Of course not all of our wars seep into the human realm but the big ones do. this year we are going to be focusing on point of view." Prof. Smith said.

she then went on how we are starting a new topic the crusades and how they were actually caused by werewolves invading the vampire lands because they thought the vampires kidnapped the werewolf king's daughter. unlike what I normally have to do I actually pay attention because it's interesting not because I have to. before I knew it class was over and I had to go to next bell.

as it turns out Sarah and I have all the same classes so she takes me to my next class. as we walk to class we talk about random things but when I enter the class I go silent. I really didn't want to see him any more but there his is. once class starts John walks to the front and says "to day your going to work with your mentor." as soon as he say that I know I'm going to hate this class.

I stay where I am waiting for John to come to me. the first thing he says to me is "are you still going to give me the silent treatment?" I stay silent. "I'm going to take that as a yes. so the first thing I need to know have you every summoned your fire?"

I shake my head no.

"this is going to hard." he mumbles then says louder "well I what you to focus on a moment where you felt a strong emotion. then I want you to focus that emotion and turn it into energy. that energy will cause a small fireball above your hand so put your hand up."

I focus on the moment I found out Danny died. I felt nothing but sorrow and utter grief at that one moment. but nothing happened. I can't figure out how to turn that emotion in to energy. I tried focusing on good happy moment with him or my family but nothing would work. by the end of the bell I still hadn't done anything.

"we will try again tomorrow but for now go enjoy lunch."

lunch went by quickly with me eating mac and cheese outside by myself. but sad to say next bell didn't go any better than the last with me being put in a group learning to do fencing(until you master it or good enough for the instructor to pass you on to next group) but the bad part was that the instructor is Ashton the only good thing is that Sarah is in the same group.

needless to say he worked my but off making me do the same thing over and over until it was exactly how he wanted it. even though it was hard and tiring it was over quickly and I was of to study hall which the only thing I did there was read since I had nothing to do but I did learn that if I wanted I could go to the training room to work on my element or fencing.

next was drama. as soon as I walked into the auditorium (which is where the drama classes take place) I noticed I women probably in her early twenties on top of the stage. she was really pretty and if I was a boy I would say hot. when she called the class together every one listened right away then she told us we were going to start a play Romeo and Juliet. but the seniors were going to modernize it and change. also tryouts were mandatory and every was given the same part to practice( gender wise females didn't do the same as the boys). I practiced in a group that the teacher picked out. like all the other classes it went by quickly.

the last bell was geometry which should be pretty easy. I was right the class was easy but it seemed to go on forever. also unlike the other classes I was given homework to do book pages. I got to my dorm room with any help or getting lost and started my homework. it was done within a hour so I read until dinner which like lunch I eat alone and out side but I ate a pulled pork sandwich with barbecue sauce on it and fries and a diet coke.

I got to my room after I was done took a shower. when I came out of the shower I found I note that said : the headmaster wants to see you tomorrow in his office at your study hall tomorrow.- John

oh good just what I need I think as I go to my bed. again just as I fall asleep I hear the door opening and arguing.
