ten; forgive me
Lara waited for her signal, knowing that she was supposed to be there to fight soon. She waited silently from a perch, where she had teleported to keep a look out. She watched Rhodey and Tony land, and the three start talking by the chopper that was supposed to be their ride until Tony disabled it.
T'Challa joined them, before Natasha was also there. Suddenly, Lara watched with wide eyes as a red suited guy swung from an unknown place, shooting a web and grabbing Cap's shield. He landed on a luggage thing, shield in hand as Lara blinked, making sure she wasn't seeing things.
Who the hell was this guy?
Lara teleported down then, not into the action though as she snuck around. It was easy, everyone was focused on Steve they hadn't noticed how she that she had gotten a clear glimpse on where Spider-Man was sitting, readying herself to teleport to grab the shield.
"We found it. The quin-jet is in hangar five north runway," Sam said, and Lara watched as Steve lifted his hands up, which were webbed together. Clint shot an arrow, cutting them as Lara smiled.
"Alright, Lara," Steve said, and Lara teleported, hitting Spider-Man to grab it, quickly throwing it to Scott, who turned normal sized and caught it.
"I believe this is your's, Captain America," Scott said, handing Steve the shield.
"Ah great," Tony said, his head turning to look up at the building. "Alright, there's two on the parking deck, one of them's Maximoff, I'm gonna grab her. Rhodey, you wanna take Cap?"
"Got two in their terminal," Rhodey said, hovering as Tony flew away. "Wilson and Barnes."
"Barnes is mine," T'Challa said, starting to run. Lara sighed as she looked around, from where she was still standing on the luggage thing. She didn't want to fight. But it turned out she had to.
Steve through his shield up, hitting Rhodey as Lara jumped off of the luggage vehicle, jogging so she was beside the patriotic man. She watched as the kid put his fingers to his ear, knowing that he was taking to one of the other people. "Hey, Mr. Stark, what should I do?"
Obviously, he was talking to Tony.
Lara looked at Natasha as Steve ran after The Black Panther, throwing his shield at him to knock him down. The brunette got into a fighting stance in case she needed to, but noticed that Nat didn't look like she wanted to fight.
"I don't want to be here anymore than you do," Natasha said, looking at Lara with this look in her eye.
"It feels like we started a war over nothing," Lara said as she straightened up, looking around. Bucky was safe for now, and that's all she was good about.
Though, Scott seemed to have different plans as he walked over to Natasha, stressing how he didn't want to hurt her. Lara felt herself face palm as she jogged away, not wanting to see Scott get hurt.
Lara glanced over to see some airplanes and helicopters exploding where Wanda and Clint were running, seeing Tony hovering over them. The teleporting girl was going to try her best to avoid Tony in this fight, not wanting to be put against family.
Lara was glancing around, not knowing what to do or where to go. Steve had told her not to fight too much, as she did have a concussion and he didn't want her more hurt than she already was. So, as she stood there, watching everyone fight, she sighed, rushing over to Cap as Rhodey flew at him. She jumped, teleported above where Rhodey was gonna be and kicked down, smashing War Machine into the pavement.
"Sorry, Rhodey," Lara apologized, feeling guilty as she glanced over at Cap, who was smiling at her in appreciation. T'Challa attacked too, Lara dodging the blow before Cap threw him to where Rhodey was getting up, the man on the suit throwing away a shock baton.
"Hey, Cap," Scott was heard behind them, both Cap and Lara turning around to see the man jogging over to them. "Heads up." Scott threw him a toy truck, Lara's eyebrows furrowing in confusion. What did a toy truck have to do with a civil war?
"Throw it at this," Scott said, showing a tiny frisbee disk to the man. Lara was still filled with confusion, wondering where Clint had found this guy. Scott threw the frisbee, yelling at Steve to throw the truck now. Lara watched with wide eyes as Nat and T'Challa jumped out of the way as the truck grew to a full size semi, landing on Rhodey with a small explosion.
Lara gave Scott a 'really?' look, the man seemingly feeling guilty. He apologized, looking at Steve. "Awe man, I thought it was a water truck. Uh, sorry."
Lara, Scott, and Steve started running toward the hangar, Wanda and Clint meeting up with them along the way. Steve yelled for the small group to come on, Sam and Bucky meeting up with them also. It was a clear sprint to the hangar, until a beam of energy cut off their path.
Lara's eyes widened as she saw Vision hovering above them, in all his caped glory. In all seriousness, Lara felt a little intimated at the synthetic man.
"Captain Rogers," Vision yelled down, Lara glancing at Steve before looking back at Vision. "I know you believe what you are doing is right," Natasha ran over behind Vision, Tony landing beside her. "But for the collective good, you must surrender now."
T'Challa, who was hanging onto Rhodey, landed crouched beside Tony, as Rhodey landed on the other side of Vision. Spider-Man landed between War Machine and Vision, standing up from his crouched position.
Lara glanced at Wanda, who looked back at her, before staring at the other 'team'.
"What do we do, Cap?" Sam asked, Lara closing her eyes, scared of what words Steve was going to say. She already knew them, however.
"We fight."
Everyone in the line started walking forward when Steve said the words, following the man himself. They started running soon after, sprinting, meeting Tony's team in the middle. Lara dodged a kick from Natasha, teleporting to behind Spider-Man and trying to kick him. He caught her foot, however, throwing her out of the way.
She was caught by Bucky, who swung her around and kicked T'Challa, catching the Catman off guard. She started sprinting towards the hangar when she landed on her feet, only to be blocked by Tony.
"Tony, please move," Lara said, looking at him with pleading eyes. "I don't wanna fight you."
"You chose to fight me when you took his side," Tony said as he landed. Lara dodged the repulser beam, kicking Tony in the helmet. It didn't do any damage, but he did stumble a little bit. With a grunt, she jumped and kicked him in the chest, teleporting so she landed on her feet behind him before kicking him in the back of the head.
It went like this for a little bit, Lara dodging Tony's attacks, before teleporting and hitting somewhere. That was, until Tony caught her foot, throwing her to the side. The air escaped her as she landed, but she was glad she didn't hit her head on the cement ground again.
Tony then flew away, helping Rhodey with Sam, as the Falcon dodged Rhodey's attacks with ease.
Lara groaned as she tried got up, happy when she noticed a metal hand held out to her. She gratefully took it, running alongside Bucky. Bucky and her hid behind a luggage cart, Steve going to the one beside them, the three of them looking at each other.
"We gotta go," Bucky said, a little breathless. "That guy's probably in Siberia by now."
"We gotta draw out the fires," Steve said, and Lara got an idea.
"I'll teleport ahead and turn on the jet. I know how to start one, Clint wasn't able to show me the flying part of it," Lara said, and Steve nodded once at her. She tuned out the rest of the conversation as she peered around the other side, getting a good glimpse of the hangar.
Closing her eyes, she pictures it before she was in the hangar, looking at jet. Lara ran over to it, climbing into it as she rushed, going to the cockpit. She sat down in the chair, looking at all the controls and trying to remember how to do it.
Lara glanced out the windshield, eyes widening as she noticed that Scott was insanely huge, tearing a wind off of an airplane. Shaking her head to get back in the game, she looked down at the controls again and started flipping switches, remembering that they were the ones that needed to be on to start the ship.
She glanced up again just as the ship turned on, mouth falling agape as she noticed rubble falling in front of the entrance to the hangar. A scream escaped her mouth as she watched the fact that Steve and Bucky were not gonna make it. She stopped when she noticed that Wanda had caught it with her powers, stalling it until Rhodey shot her with a wave of sound waves.
She moved out of the seat when she saw that Steve and Bucky made it, her tense body relaxing. That was, until she noticed Natasha and T'Challa in the hangar. Lara's eyebrows furrowed when she watched Natasha shoot Catman with one of her tasers. Bucky and Steve then ran where Lara couldn't see, and the girl collapsed in a seat in the back.
When Steve and Bucky took the seats in the cockpit, Lara rested her head on the wall. She knew they were shooting the debris out of the way, and soon enough she felt the jet take off.
Lara suddenly started sobbing, her hands coming to to her face to muffle the sounds. She couldn't believe that just happened. The people that had been such a close group of people, a family, had fought so badly that she knew they would never be the same again. This was just the starting of what that guy wanted. To have an Empire fall.
"I'm sorry, Tony," Lara sobbed, her hand running through her hair as she continued crying. "Oh, God, I'm so sorry. Howard, Marie, forgive me."
Lara felt someone put an arm around her, her eyes meeting Bucky's blue eyes. She threw herself into his arms, enjoying the feeling as she continued crying. The girl alway kept mumbling, begging Howard, Marie, and Tony to forgive her.
She had a bad feeling about what was to come.
