-The day at the arena battling-

Sweat formed on her forehead.Doing push ups was not as easy as it looks.Today was finally here.The arena was starting to opened and all the upper-formers have already gotten their sits there.

On the highest platform in the arena placed tall grand looking chairs that were meant for the teachers and professors to sit in.And in the middle of all these chairs were two even higher chairs,Those chairs were meant for the Headmasters.From what Lilia have heard,the Upper Formers' arena battling date was due only next week.And was even more dangerous,like a hundred times by one thousand dangerous.It also seems like at the Junior Nevers have to enter.If not,they'll get in real trouble.

The mood here was serious as everyone do some more push ups or training that they can before they were called into the arena.Suddenly,a group of people came into the field.Everyone lifted their heads from whatever they were doing and stare at them.Lilia could see a girl infront of her cowering from their presence.Whoever these people are.

A girl who is in the group walked up to Lilia and her friends.She seems to be the leader from them seeing to how she walked.She had her head high in the air as she inspected Lilia.She sneered.

"Well,well,well,if it wasn't the newbie with her disgusting friends back there."The girl said to Lilia.Lilia's eyes twitched.She keep her poker face on."What have I done to have you whatever your name is girl to say like that to me?"Lilia said with a calm voice,not seemingly affected by what the girl had said just now.The girl's face crumbled at what she said before looking disdainfully at her again.

"You see,newbie,me and my friends here,"She gestured at the people behind her."Have decided that because you're new here,you don't really seems to know that,"She pointed her finger at Briar and Trisha."The friends you have back there suck.They're weirdos to be exact.So we're asking you to join us in our little gang and leave these pathetic so-called friends they are.Imagine being popular!"The girl said.Lilia inspected her nails.

"Say,are you by chance done finish saying with ugly little foul mouth?I don't switch friends for popularity like you.I'm happy as I am now.If you're done,please step aside.I need to practice."Lilia said all that in one breath with a calm tone.The girl's face change into a furious one.

"You are such a sadist!No wonder you stick with them all the time.Guess all the freaks stick together,huh?"The girl said in a cruel tone.Her friends laughed with her.Lilia stared at the girl before she gave a cold little laugh.The girl glowered at her."What's so funny,newbie?"She hissed.

"Nothing.You know,if you really want to bully me,at least make it a little more hurting.A sadist?Weirdos?Freaks?I've heard that too many times.For your information,you ugly little b****,people in my village called me a witch.You're just repeating the same old thing over and over again.Now please leave."Lilia sigh.

"Wow,I didn't even know that.What a horrible past you must have.I bet all your friends try to kill themselves when they found who they just befriend."The girl said in a sneering tone.Lilia had enough.She hold the knife at her throat as she glowered at her with a murderous look.If looks could kill,the girl would have already been dead.

"You don't scare me,you weak brat.Go find someone else to bully."Lilia growled at her.Putting her knife back,she turned and went a few steps ahead of the girl and just to tease her,turned her back to the girl and continued doing her practices while ignoring her like she was the air itself.

"Weak...brat?"The girl said in a deadly voice.

"May all the Junior Nevers come into the arena please."A voice announced around them.The Nevers lined up and went in quietly.Save by the voice.Taking a deep breath,she walked into the arena.

Lilia gasped at the size of the arena.It.Was.Huge.

Tall walls surrounded the arena. She could see all the teachers and professors up on the most high up level on the arena. There were two chairs in the middle of them. Probably meant for The Headmasters. Looks like they didn't come. They were requested to sit and waited for their turn as the students pick draws. The rules went like this: The students will have to pick draws to find out who their opponents were. They will fight their opponent until someone from the teachers up there,presumbly a professor,said that the fight was over and who the winner was.They will not determined the placings by who win and who lose,but rather how the loser or the winner have improved in the classes.It would have given newbies like Lilia a lot of trouble if they had determined the placings on who won and who lost.

Lilia pick her paper.She opened it.Her eyes widened slightly.

Keith Rielork?!

She saw Keith stared at her and smirked. A fire in her belly appeared. Oho,so he thinks she's just gonna give up that easily. No way. No way in a thousand years. A whole lot of crap it was if she just went down without a fight.Bring it on,you bastard.

They were requested to sit and watched as others battle and waited for their turn.Lilia sat up straight when it was Briar's turn.She watched as Briar pulled out...a whip?! Briar was smiling in a creepy way as she cracked her whip against the ground.

In the end Briar won against a guy who use an axe.Seriously,an axe.Trust it on the author's imagination to think of that.

Me: "Shut your mouth! My imagination is awesome.You suck Lilia!"

Excuse me?

Me: "Hmph!"

Whatever.I watch dully as students battle against students after seemingly endless rounds.

It seems like that so called bully girl was Natalie.She lost at her battle and went sulking in a corner.She's really an idiot.Instead of sulking,she should work harder and do harder next time!Silly girl.Lilia shook her head.

Lilia watched as Trisha battled with another girl who used a spear.She watch closely as Trisha pulled an...

Ohmygosh.That is so wow.It took Trisha only a while before defeating the girl.Remind her to never make the girl angry.

"Next battle,please welcome...Lilia Shadoefel and Keith Rielock!"

At once the clearing went to complete silence.Everyone watch as Lilia went into the arena.She gave Keith a steel look as he smirked at her.

"Let's see what you got,you stupid brat."

"Good idea,you arrogant bastard."

"Ready, set,fight!!"

Keith circled around her before landing the first strike.She blocked it with ease.It looks like he was only checking her skills out.Good trick.

Once the fight began,the two begun to fight fiercely,neither of them letting the other go.Like a lion they would circle each other as they each landed blow
one and another.

"This seems like the first time Keith even last this long in the arena without winning already."One of the teachers said.

"I agreed.This girl has quite the potential.I like her already."A professor replied.

"I should know better.After all,I was the one who train her."Professor Richald watch proudly.

"If you're the one that train her,then I have no doubt of her.She has quite good skills,I must admit."A voice sounded around them.The teachers and professors look around widely.There,sitting on the black high chair,was a man with a cloak covering him.

"Headmaster Bryan!"

"Its not just brother whose here,you know.I'm here too,people."A man popped out of nowhere and sat on the white high chair.

"Headmaster Brandon!"

Headmaster Brandon grinned.He too,wore a cloak."Hello, people!Miss me?"

They exchanged glances."Why are the two of you here,Headmasters?"One of the teacher asked.Headmaster Brandon's face felled."Awe,nobody miss me?"

They ignore his statement.

"We finally finish all the paperwork so we thought we'll see the battles.There's no rules about me and my brother can't be here,is they?"Headmaster Bryan asked slyly.

"No of course not."

Me: "What they meant was that they lost a game of chess with me so they need to come here as part of the bargain."

Headmaster Bryan grumbled under his breath."Women."

Me: "Men."

"Whatever."

They watched the battle continued with silence.Lilia did not saw the conversation up there as she was busy concentrating on Keith.A twitch on his leg told her where he would attack.

They matched up blow to blow,neither of them yielding.Both of them were already exhausted but their pride would not make them give in.Keith stopped for a while to rest and Lilia took the chance.Hoping her luck hold,she darted forward and use that technique that the professor had told her yesterday.

Professor Richald sat up straight."It can't be..."

Headmaster Bryan grinned.

-Flashback-

"Are you sure you want to do this,Lilia?"

"Yes."

"Alright then.This technique is normally use to end a battle between two people in the fastest way.The timing must be precise or you could be the one who will lose.In this technique, you are like a leopard on the hunt.Quiet but deadly you attack with the fastest speed and catch your pray of guarded.Remember,you are the hunter,not the hunted."

"Yes sir."

-Flashback ended-

With inhuman speed,Lilia dashed forward as she lunged at Keith.His eyes widened as he try to deflect it but was too late.I am the huntress.I am no pray.With quick strokes,she slashed at Keith.

His dagger dropped to the ground.Lilia's knife was now currently pointing at his throat,her face inches from his."I won."Lilia said.

Silence continued.

Cheers erupted like roars.They started changing her name."Lilia,Lilia,Lilia!!"Taking Keith's dagger,she silently gave it back to him.

"It was a good fight."

Keith stared at her.His hand slowly reached out and took the dagger."Yeah, it was."

With that she helped him stood up and went back to her place with her friends where Briar begun to squealed and hug her while Trisha shook her hand.

"The Wind.A high technique that even fewer Upper Formers could do."A professor said in awe.Headmaster Brandon looked at Professor Richald.

"When did you teach here that?"

"Y-yesterday.."The professor replied,still recovering from his state of shock.

Headmaster Brandon gave a smile."Interesting.."

Lilia walked around The School with her friends.It would took a while before the announcement about the placing was made and they decided to breath in the fresh air for a while.Briar forgot to took something from her drawer (typical of her) and they were walking to get it now.

Lilia suddenly stop walking.Her friends looked at her."Um, Lilia?"Lilia manage a small smile and looks at them."Do you guys mind if you go first?I'll catch up later."

"Okay.."Trisha said suspiciously.

Lilia waited until they were truly gone before looking around d her.She was standing at the edge of a forest called The Forgotten Forest."Come out,whatever you are.I know you've been following me."Lilia called to the forest.Moments later a pair of blue eyes appeared.It watch her intently."Come out."Lilia commanded.The eyes blinked before slowly coming out from its hiding place,letting her see who's pair of eyes it belongs to.

Lilia's breath was caught in her chest.

It was a magnificent wolf with blue eyes.It was larger than a normal wolf.

Hello,Lilia.Its nice to finally meet my partner.

Lilia jumped at the sound of the voice in her head.She narrowed her eyes."What are you?"

I am your familiar.The voice you're hearing now is me,the wolf.

Lilia had heard of familiars before.They were your partner,friend,comrade and even family.They were an important part of you, and can never be trade for.

Apparently this wolf is her familiar.

My name is Shadow.

Lilia jumped at her voice.She forgot that familiars can read their partner's mind and thoughts.

I'm a male,not a female.

"Sorry."

Its fine.

"So we're partners?Just like that only?"

No.There is still part of the process that needs to be complete. Put your hand on my head.

Slowly Lilia reached out to his head.She hestion inches before his head.

Relax.

Taking a deep breath,she put her hand on his head.Electricity sparkled between the two of them as a mark appeared on her left hand.

It is done.With the bond now completed, we can talk mind to mind and feel each other's feelings.I'm sure you already feel it.The mark on your hand is proof that we are partners.I also have the same mark on my head now.

Lilia looked at his forehead closely and saw that he was right.There was a mark on there.She could also feel foreign feelings that were not her's.

"May all students gathered in the arena now."A voice announced

Lilia look at Shadow.She decide to use to try the new 'thing'.

Hey Shadow.Can you hear me?

Perfectly.

Do you mind if we keep this while thing a secret for a while?I'm still trying to get to knew all this.

Of course,It is quite a large to wrap in your mind in such a short time.

I want to take you with me to the arena but...

That can be easily solved.

Shadow turned into a tattoo on her left forearm.Tugging at her sleeve,she hid it away from sight.

Yay!Done!This is my longest chapter ever!2165 words.Now,I know some of you is probably wondering why I updated this chapter so late,but things has been a bit busy for me this week so I didn't really had time to write.But I would 'at least' post one chapter a week at the minimum up to three to four chapters in a week.I'm so sorry about that!
