Eclipse stood up with a small bow, "I'm Eclipse from the Ember kingdom, this is Ash and Astrid. And you are?"

The girl did not seem relieved by her answer, "Uh, I'm Madi from um, Bou Georgia. Why are you here?"

Eclipse smiled, "It might sound odd, but I dreamt of being here. In the dream, I felt safe and happy. And that's something considering our situation."

"Situation?" Madi asked curiously, now closing the door. She stayed close by though just in case.

Eclipse nodded and frowned, "Yeah, we're kinda being hunted by a military leader and another boy. Not to forget the two that attacked me earlier. Who knows who's working with them," She paused, "You're not working with them, are you?"

Madi shook her head, "No? I have no clue what you're even talking about. Why are people chasing you?"

Astrid examined the girl, "Apparently, Eclipse and I are different from the others or something."

"What do you mean different?"

"We don't know. But I guess it's significant enough for us to have kidnapping traitors after us."

"So let me get this straight," Madi points to Eclipse and Astrid, "You have someone chasing you."

The girls nodded. Madi continued and pointed to Eclipse, "You had a dream that you were here and felt safe," Eclipse nodded before Madi continued, "And you thought it was a good idea that you come in my house and then what?"

Eclipse shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe stay here a while until we contact my parents."

Madi sighed, "Fine. My parents are on vacation anyways. I guess you can stay here until you call your parents. Do you have your phone with you?" She paused, "Okay, that's a dumb question. There's not even a great phone signal out here. Hold on. Today is Tuesday, how about you come to school with me tomorrow and then we can call your parents then."

Ash took another step forward, "We're not going anywhere with-"

Eclipse cut him off, "That would be great. Thanks," She looked towards Ash and narrowed her eyes. He backed off and went to sit next to her again.

Madi walked further into the cabin and grabbed a rectangular box with buttons. Ash watched suspiciously while the girls were curious. Madi clicked a red button and the rectangle on the wall lit up. Eclipse drew her attention to the lights. She glanced back at Madi and caught her looking at her. Madi questioned her, "Have you never seen a t.v. before?"

Eclipse shook her head then brought her attention back to the screen. She watched as a girl was shooting fireballs out of thin air at people and buildings. Then the girl made a helicopter explode. She looked back at Madi, "Who's that and why is she attacking those people?"

"That's Charlie. And those are the bad people that captured her to use for experiments. It's only self defense."

Ash kept his attention on Charlie, "Why is she inside the t.v?"

"It's a movie. She's not really inside the screen."

"Then where is she?"

"I don't know. Why do you care?"

"I think she should teach me how to do that. It was awesome. I've never seen someone be able to do that."

Madi looked at Ash confused, "Well of course you haven't seen anyone do it because it's only special effects. No one can really create fire out of nothing."

Ash tilted his head, "Does your clan not have any fire elements? Well, I can show you my little party trick."

Eclipse looked at him, "Are you really gonna show that off? Why do you always have to brag about that? It's not even that impressive"

"Oh shush now. She's never seen a fire elemental before, she's missing out," Ash said while he was holding his hand in front of his face. He stared at his fingers and one by one, his fingertips caught on fire.

Madi's eyes widened, "How did you do that? Wait no. I must've fallen asleep in class. I was supposed to be the only one."

Ash put his flames out while Eclipse started talking, "Only one? What do you mean?"

Madi sighed and looked to the ground, "Okay, I know I'll probably sound insane when I tell this, but I think you should know. My parents died a while ago. Well a while being well over a hundred years. I was told by them that I'm special, I was the only one with any sort of ability. I guess it's immortality and this weird plant thing I can do."

Eclipse frowned, "I'm sorry about your parents."

Madi waved her hand, "It was a long time ago. I was thirty-two when they died in a car crash. So that would mean it was about a hundred and thirty years ago. Since then, I've been moving around every few years."

Eclipse held up her fingers and counted, "So that makes you around a hundred and sixty?" She kept counting, "That's only twenty years older than we are."

"You're telling me you're immortal as well?" Madi looked up with a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

Astrid shook her head, "No, No one is immortal. I believe the oldest elder in any clan I know of was nine hundred and eighty years old."

Madi tilted her head, "The oldest normal human was only a hundred and twenty-two years old."

Ash looked away from the screen where Charlie was now entering a very large building. "That's really young. Also another question, what are humans?"

If it were possible, Madi tilted her head even more, "We're all humans. A bit odd, but humans non the less. Where were you raised? Locked up in an underground bunker or something?"

Eclipse laughed a bit, "I actually live in the kingdom's castle, Ash lives in my kingdom, and I'm not quite sure about Astrid. Maybe you've just been living in the future."

Madi waved her hands again dramatically, "You're trying to tell me that you live in a castle. How is that even possible?"

Eclipse shrugged, "Easy, my parents are queen and king of the Ember clan and I'm their daughter along with my sister."

They talked until it started getting dark outside. What Eclipse learnt was that dragonkin were not the only people. There were also humans. While they were talking, Madi changed the channel to the news and explained what everything was. Madi also was able to hack into the school board and enroll the three in her classes. They also went over the rules of how to fit in.

Once it was pretty late, they figured out the sleeping conditions. Eclipse and Astrid could share the guest bedroom that had two beds while Ash could have the couch. Sleep came easily for the kids that night. For once, they felt safe since getting in a van with two traitors.

Madi woke everyone up quite early to get ready for school. She made enough pancakes to feed an army instead of just for four kids. Madi only had one backpack and not enough school supplies for everyone so they decided to stop at a store. They also had to get new clothes at the store since theirs were worn out from being on the run.

When they started walking, it was still dark outside. It took them ten minutes to walk into the city limit of Bou. Madi led them through the quiet streets to a small store. She waved to the older woman tending the cash register, "Hi Linda, how's business doing?"

Linda smiled, "It's doing well. How can I help you and your friends?"

"It's their first day at school so they need some supplies and some new clothes."

"I can get the essential school supplies while y'all look for some clothes."

"That's very kind of you, thank you."

Madi led them to the back of the store where the clothes section was. Ash went to the boy section while Madi led the girls to the girl section. After looking around, Astrid found a plain white shirt, a pink plaid jacket, and light blue skinny jeans. Eclipse grabbed some blue skinny jeans but didn't see anything else she liked and went to look in the boy's section. Ash was holding a pair of jeans and a white shirt.

She looked over the shirts and settled with a black shirt and then went to look at the jackets. She chose a black jacket with a bull skull and an american flag that was gray. She went back to the group and held the jacket up, "I'm in love with this jacket, it's so cool looking."

Madi nodded and offered a smile, "I guess it is," She looked at her watch, "We should get going or else we might be late for class."

They walked to the front desk where Linda had three backpacks laying in front of her. She handed the kids the bags and smiled, "No need to pay, all I ask is for some help around here from time to time whenever you're able to."

Madi thanked her and promised that they would be back after school to help out. She looked at her watch again and started speed walking to the door. The others followed closely behind. Astrid and Eclipse had no trouble keeping up, Ash on the other hand was having some trouble keeping up with the girls.

Madi stopped in front of a bid brick building with a sign that read 'Bou Middle School'. She turned around and scanned the other kids' faces, "Okay, remember the rules. I'll be staying with you all day, but still. Another thing, you're my cousins who just moved here. The majority of the teachers and students are nice but if you have trouble with anyone let me know. The schedule is English, math, lunch, science, and lastly science," She took a deep breath, "Okay, let's do this."

When they entered the building, they had to dodge kids as they were hurrying to their first class. Madi kept glancing back to make sure none of them got lost in the sea of kids. They finally made it to their first classroom with only a few bruises. Madi walked up to the teacher's desk while the others stood by the door. Eclipse thought that the teacher looked like they were about to cry or yell from frustration with their noisy room.

Madi walked back over with a smile and told them to just find an empty seat. Eclipse was able to sit next to Madi near the front of the room, Astrid took a back corner seat, Ash was unluckily left with a seat in the middle of the room.
