Eclipse groggily sat up in her bed. After rubbing her eyes, she blinked a couple times to clear the blurriness. She walked over to her dresser and changed into clothes for the day, nothing fancy, just some jeans and a shirt that was slightly oversized. The room door creaked open and her sister, Star, stood in the doorway. Still half asleep, Eclipse's words ran together, "What do you want?"

Star seemed way too happy for it to be morning, "Have you forgotten? We leave for training today. Aren't you ready to go?" A quick glance at Eclipse answered Star's questions, she sighed annoyed, "I know you're not wearing that on the first day."

This news woke Eclipse up. How could she forget about such an important event? Self-consciously she looked at her outfit, a different shirt wouldn't hurt. While opening the dresser again she responded to her sister, "I totally forgot, must've slipped my mind. Do you mind telling mom and dad that I'll be down in a bit? I still need to pack my bags"

Star shook her head and agreed as she shut the door behind herself. Eclipse found a nicer shirt, this one was actually the right size believe it or not. It was light pink and had long, elegantly designed sleeves. Her jeans definitely didn't work with this shirt so she changed into light blue jeggings.

Now about the empty bags on the floor. Not truly worrying about what she packed, Eclipse grabbed random clothes and put them into the bags. If her outfits didn't work, she'd just borrow something from Star.

After putting her long, black hair into a neat bun, she added the brush to one of the bags. She put on a pair of white sneakers and added a few pairs of shoes into the bags. Grabbing the bags on the way out of her room, she made her way through the large hallway.

Living in a castle had its ups and downs. Such as having her own room. On the downside it was on the third floor. Now normally it's not a problem, but when you're carrying bags full of clothes, that's a different story.

Once at the bottom of the stairs, Eclipse was greeted by one of the chambermaids as they made their way up the stairs. Perhaps Eclipse should have tidied up her room a bit before coming down. Oh well, she was not walking back up the stairs. For the moment, she was going to eat breakfast.

Eclipse left her bags in front of the dining room doors. Once she entered the room, she saw that the majority of the chairs were taken. She found a spot between her best friend, Ash, and Star. After looking around the table she could recognize most of the faces. There was also a kid she didn't know.

The main doors opened and her parents walked in the room and sat at each end of the table. As they were sitting down, the kitchen doors opened and servers entered carrying plates of food. Eclipse looked at the plate that was set in front of her. Breakfast today was waffles with fresh fruit and either a cup of milk or orange juice. Eclipse preferred orange juice over milk, unlike her sister.

Her mother began to speak, "Thank you for joining us today. As you all know, it is time for the Spark group to begin their training. The group will be taught by our military leader, Tyson," She gestured to the man to her left, "The main training will last for a few months or however long Tyson believes is necessary. At the end of the main training, there will be a test where the group is left alone for a month. After training they will return here and begin an internship at their assigned occupations. Any questions for us?"

The boy across from Eclipse spoke, "Where are we going to train? And what are we training for?"

Tyson answered the boy's questions, "We are going to travel around during our training, we'll stay in one location for a week at most. The training includes basic survival skills along with exploring your abilities which will factor into which occupation you will be assigned to. Any other questions?"

No one else spoke and Eclipse assumed it was permitted to begin eating. She looked over at Ash, he looked so excited. She had to admit, she couldn't wait to leave either. Once older groups return from their training, they tend to brag about it to the younger groups who are still in school. Only this time, it was Eclipse's turn to brag.

Breakfast seemed to last forever. Finally, Eclipse's mom stood up, "Once again, I thank you for attending breakfast with us here. Now it's time to say goodbye to the kids. Speaking of which, when you are ready, please meet with Tyson out front with your luggage."

Eclipse glanced around watching as parents hugged their children. She stood up and started making her way to her own parents. Star was already there when Eclipse joined them. She looked up at her mom who looked to be holding back a few tears. That's unusual since Eclipse has only seen her mother cry a couple of times within the past hundred years. The most recent being when her closest friend passed away while in war.

Eclipse looked at her father who held his hand out with a warm smile, "Anya, it'll be fine. We both knew this day would come."

Her mother laughed a little while she dabbed at her eyes with her handkerchief, "I know, I know. I just never thought it would be so soon."

Their mother pulled the two girls into a hug, "I'll see you both when you get back, I'm going to miss you for every second," She pushed her daughters to arm length, "Now go, don't want to make you miss the most important moment of your lives."

The girls gave a quick hug to their father and made their way out of the dining hall. Eclipse felt her heart drop when she didn't see her bag. One of the workers approached the girls with a smile, "I've already loaded both of your luggage into the vans."

Star grabbed her sister's hand and practically dragged her outside. In the large open area near the castle gates, three black vans were parked and Tyson stood with a clipboard. Star continued pulling Eclipse towards the vans. Tyson pointed to Star, "Star, you are riding in number one. Eclipse, you're in two."

Star could barely contain her excitement, "I'll see you when we get there. Wherever there is."

Eclipse nodded as she walked to the second van and got in through the open back doors. Inside, there were already two other kids sitting. Eclipse was relieved to find Ash inside, now at least she wouldn't be sitting with two strangers. She turned her gaze to the other boy that was there, "Hey, I don't think we've met, I'm Eclipse."

The boy laughed nervously, "Oh, I already knew that, I'm sure everyone knows your name. You're a princess after all," He paused for a moment until he noticed Eclipse still looking at him, he laughed again, "I'm sorry, I'm rambling. I mean my name isn't rambling, my name is Cole."

Eclipse gave a small smile and shrugged, "It's fine," She turned to Ash, "What do you think we're gonna do first?"

Ash's face lit up, "I have no clue, but whatever it is, it's going to be amazing."

"Yeah, it can't be any worse than the mundane schoolwork. Besides, you always make things interesting," Eclipse lightly punched Ash on his shoulder.

"Listen, just because I got us lost in the woods for a few days doesn't mean I'm going to do something like that again," Ash couldn't hold back his smile as he said this.

Eclipse just nodded her head. He's done notably more than just getting the two of them lost in the woods. But thankfully, he had her. She was always getting him out of trouble, if it were up to him, they would still be lost in the woods.

Eclipse jumped slightly when she heard Tyson talk from behind her, "Okay, we're nearly ready to go. I'm riding in the first van so if you need anything just call for Blaze."

He closed the back doors as he left, leaving the back of the van dark. Not that Eclipse noticed, she could practically see perfectly in the pitch black. As a matter of fact, she actually had trouble in bright light. Star on the contrary is the exact opposite. Eclipse could see the slight panic on Cole's face. She sighed and turned on the dim light on the roof, "Scared of the dark huh?"

Cole blushed, "N-no, of course not. Why would I be?"

Eclipse rolled her eyes and leaned her head against the back doors, "Wake me up whenever we stop."
