Did I create this story as an excuse to rewatch Young Justice? Mayhaps. Anyways, I am going to start straying more from episodes now, I know I said that like four chapters ago but now I am serious.

Mount Justice

August 19, 19:39 EDT

The team was gathered for training, Kaldur and Superboy in the middle at the moment. They were sparring while everyone but Robin was gathered on the outer edge of the ring. Wally and Pietro were squabbling over food while Artemis, M'gann, and Wanda were chatting.

"Kaldur's nice, don't you think?" Artemis asked M'gann, watching the two boys spar. "Handsome, commanding...you should totally ask him out."

"He's like a big brother to me." M'gann deferred. "You know who would make the cutest couple? Wanda and Robin!"

Wanda choked on air. "W-what? Me and D-Robin? Why?"

"You're both mysterious, he's all tech-y, whereas you're more...magical, you'd balance each other out Plus, you look good together." M'gann shrugged.

"She does have a point." Artemis chuckled at the blush on Wanda's cheeks.

"I don't even know his name." Wanda lied, thankful when the roof opened and Red Tornado lowered down.

Wally sped up to him. "Do you have a mission for us?"

"Mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility."

"Yeah, well the Batman is with the Robin doing the dynamic duo thing in Gotham. But you're headed somewhere, right? A hot date? A mission?" Wally finger gunned Red Tornado.

"If we can be of help." Kaldur stepped in.

Red Tornado caved, pulling up the file of Kent Nelson, explaining who he was. Wally rolled his eyes when Kaldur said he was the earth's sorcerer supreme, saying he was a fake under his breath to Artemis. Tornado gave them the key to the Tower of Fate so they could protect the Helmet of Fate since Kent Nelson was missing. The team left for the bioship.

Salem

August 19, 20:22 EDT

"We've reached Tornado's coordinates but there's nothing here." M'gann lowered the ship into the street in camouflage mode.

Kid Flash and Quicksilver ran around where the coordinates were given, coming up empty. Artemis suggested science was at work and Kid Flash agreed until Miss Martian walked up, then he changed his tune quickly, saying it was obviously the mystic arts. Quicksilver rolled his eyes.

"A test of faith. Stand behind me." Aqualad walked up to the nothingness and inserted the key, a tower appearing. Everyone was shocked.

They walked inside, the door disappearing. "Uh, where'd the door go?"

A ghostly apparition of Kent Nelson appeared. "Greetings. You've entered with a key, but the tower does not recognize you. Please state your purpose and intent."

Wally smiled, stepping forward. "We are true believers, here to find Doctor Fate."

Kent Nelson rolled his eyes and the floor beneath the team gave out, everyone falling towards a lava pit.

"Wanda!" Pietro called out, reaching for his sister.

Scarlet Witch threw her hands towards the lava pit, a red force field appearing between the walls of the pit, catching the team. She grunted when everyone landed, sweat appearing on her forehead. "Someone better think of something quick, I can't hold us forever."

"Hello, Megan! We never answered the tower's question!" She slapped her forehead. "Red Tornado sent us to see if Kent Nelson and the Helmet of Fate are safe."

The lava pit disappeared and Scarlet Witch let go of the force field, the team dropping to the floor below. Wally went up to Miss Martian and said he got her.

"Enough! Your whole impress M'gann at every turn is what almost got us killed in the first place!" Pietro yelled, pushing Wally against the wall.

"When did this become my fault?" Wally snapped.

"When you lied to that whatever it was and called yourself a true believer?" Artemis chimed in.

"Wally, you don't believe?" M'gann asked, looking at her fellow red head.

"Fine, fine! I lied about believing in magic. Magic is the real lie." Wally went on a rant about how much of a lie magic was, saying it was just a bunch of tricks. "Everything can be explained by science."

"Let us test that theory." Kaldur opened a hatch, snow flying upwards at the team. They jumped into the hatch, landing sideways on a snowy plain.

"Well this is quite the adventure." Scarlet Witch sighed, noticing she did not feel cold despite the snow.

A glowing, floating cane appeared a few yards away from the group, drawing everyone's attention. "Ooh, maybe its Nelson's magic wand."

Pietro and Wally both sped towards it, grabbing it at the same time. "I got it! Hey, I can't let go!"

A door appeared above them and they disappeared through it, landing on a platform inside the Tower, staircases going in every direction. Wally looked up, staring at three figures on another platform. "Abracadabra!"

"Well, would you look at that." The real Kent Nelson smirked, glowing at the same time as his cane. He flew towards it, grabbing hold as Pietro and Wally were able to let go. He made an elevator appear. "In here!"

Inside, he introduced himself to the two speedsters. "No, duh."

Pietro elbowed Wally. "I'm Pietro. This loud mouth is Wally."

"Well Pietro, we're up against an opponent with tremendous mystic power." Wally disputed this, saying Abracadabra was a fake who used futuristic science to fake magic. "Right you are. Abra is a charlatan, but Klarion the witch boy, the kid with the cat, is an actual lord of chaos. The ultimate enemy of a lord of order like Doctor Fate."

"Right, you're a lord of order."

Kent explained how he was just a tool that Fate used once upon a time until his wife convinced him to stop. "Anywho, Klarion is after the Helmet of Fate. If he gets his sticky little hands on it he'll turn the whole planet into his own personal playground of pandemonium."

The elevator dinged and the three of them exited to see a giant bell. They heard a noise and looked to see a door open above them, the rest of the team dropping to join them. Kent asked if they were friends. Suddenly, a bolt of magic shot at them, Wally asking if those were friends of Nelson's.

Wanda threw up a force field around her friends and Nelson, turning to the old man. "Do what you must, we will hold them back."

Nelson looked at her curiously. "I see a touch of chaos within you. Be careful, child. Don't let it consume you."

Wanda's eyes widened and her force field faltered due to her lack of concentration. A bolt of lightning broke through the field, striking the ground before her. She went flying backwards, landing harshly on the ground. "Go, Mr. Nelson! Hurry!"

Nelson struck the bell with his cane, disappearing inside with Wally. Klarion tried to follow but Wanda threw a psionic blast at him, knocking him away from the bell before he could enter.

"No, no, no, no! Not fair." The witch boy yelled, landing on a few platforms away. He turned to look at the teens as they stood in front of the bell, blocking his path, eyes settling on Wanda and Pietro. His face broke out in an eerie grin. "Ah, the claws of chaos run deep here."

Abracadabra fired his fake magic at the teens, encasing Superboy and Kaldur in lightning cages. Artemis fired arrows at the two enemies before being encased herself. "Wanda! M'gann! Do something!"

Pietro was the next one to become encased, falling at his sister's feet.

Wally! We're in trouble. Tell Kent we need Doctor Fate now!

M'gann used her telepathy to shut down Abracadabra just as she was shot with lightning, making her pass out and leaving just Wanda and Klarion.

"Wanda! Do something!" Superboy grunted.

Wanda looked to Pietro, who gave her a nod. She nodded back, letting her anger break free within her, turning back to face Klarion. Her eyes lit up scarlet as she called upon more strength than she ever had before. "You want chaos? I'll show you chaos."

Wanda's red mist encased the various stair cases surrounding the witch boy, breaking them apart. The stairs went flying at Klarion at high speeds, smashing into him from all sides. He cried out in pain, but Wanda didn't let up. She encased Klarion himself in the red mist, slowly pulling him apart molecule by molecule.

"Enough."

Wanda turned to see Doctor Fate floating towards her, arms crossed over his chest. She recognized Wally under the helmet right away. She growled at him. "He was going to kill my friends, my brother. He deserves everything coming his way."

"Maybe so, but if you go down this path of darkness, of chaos, there will be no return for you." Doctor Fate gestured to behind Wanda and she looked, seeing her friends and her brother looking at her in slight fear. She wavered. "Let me handle Klarion."

Wanda nodded, letting Klarion out of her mist. Her eyes stopped glowing and she watched as Fate approached Klarion, but the witch boy teleported away. Fate released everyone from their cages before letting Wally go and it was awkward for a few beats before Pietro mentioned going home.

Everyone agreed.

Mount Justice

August 20, 03:48 EDT

Wanda sat on her bed, staring at the wall. She heard her bed room door open and turned to see Pietro enter with an annoyed look. "Wally still refuses to admit magic is real, even after being Doctor Fate. Can you believe that guy?" He threw himself onto his sister's bed, looking at her. "Wanda. What's wrong?"

"I almost killed a person today." Wanda muttered, staring at the red mist surrounding her hands.

"No, you almost took out a dangerous interdimensional chaos being by yourself."

"Pietro-"

"That was impressive. I didn't know you could do th-"

"Pietro." Wanda put her hand on her brother's. "I am dangerous. I am a walking bomb. A living weapon. Every day my power grows and becomes harder to contain."

"What do we do?"

Wanda was quiet for a moment. "I am handling it for now. Don't worry, when it becomes too much, I'll let you know."

"Promise?"

"Of course." Wanda smiled tightly. "Now go to your room, I am exhausted."

"You did use a lot of power today." Pietro bid Wanda good night, exiting her room and closing the door.

Wanda ran to her bathroom once she was sure he was gone, leaning over her toilet and letting the contents of her guts out. Once she was done vomiting, she washed her mouth out and went back to bed, trying to keep calm so as to not alert M'gann of her worries.

That night she fell asleep with a metallic taste in her mouth and an echo of Klarion's screams in her ears.
