Mount Justice

The six team members walked out of the cave and towards the beach, holding towels and surf boards.

"Hello, Megan! We should hit the beach every day!" M'gann exclaimed, throwing her arms wide.

"First, a moment of silence for our absent comrade." Robin said solemnly, dipping his head down.

"Poor Wally." M'gann sighed, tipping her head as well.

"Enough drama, let us hit the water!" Pietro exclaimed, running towards the sand. He dove in, turning around to splash the others standing at the edge. "Come on!"

Everyone ran to the water, splashing about and having a blast while Wally was having a terrible day at school. They played beach volleyball, buried Superboy in the sand, cooked weenies over the fire, and had a contest to see who could hold their breath the longest under the water, not including Kaldur.

It wasn't until late that they went back to the cave and when they entered they were shocked to see Green Arrow, Batman, and a mysterious blonde teen dressed in a green outfit with a bow.

"Uh, who is this?" Superboy asked, gesturing to the girl.

"This is Artemis, my niece and newest protégé." Green Arrow placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey." The girl waved.

Wanda's eyes widened and she took a discreet step back. Artemis eyed Wanda curiously, having caught her subtle move.

"Excuse us while we get changed." Kaldur spoke politely, gesturing to their beachwear.

The group went to their rooms and got changed into their suits, returning moments later to properly greet Artemis. They all stood around her and chatted for a bit until the zeta tubes announced Wally's arrival.

"The Wall-Man is here! Now let's get this party started!" He tripped as he came running in, falling on his face.

"Wall-Man huh? Ah, I love the uniform. What exactly are your powers?" Artemis sassed, instantly earning points in Pietro's book.

"Uh, who's this?" Wally asked, walking up between Kaldur and Robin.

"My new best friend." Pietro mumbled.

"Artemis. Your new teammate." Artemis stated proudly, smiling at Pietro's comment.

"Kid Flash. Never heard of you." Wally glared.

"She's my new protégé." Green Arrow told him.

"What happened to your old one?"

Recognize Speedy B06

"Well for starters he doesn't go by Speedy anymore. Call me Red Arrow."

"Roy, you look-"

"Replaceable." Roy hissed.

"Its not like that. You told me you were going solo." Green Arrow defended himself.

"This is awkward." Pietro mumbled to Wanda, who elbowed him the ribs.

"So why waste time finding a sub? Can she even use that bow?"

"Yes, she can." Artemis got in Roy's face.

"Who are you?" Wally asked, exasperated.

"I'm his niece."

"But she is not your replacement." Kaldur assured Roy. "We have always wanted you on the team, and we have no quota on archers."

Artemis and Wally exchanged some jabs before Kaldur asked Roy why he came to them. "A reason named Doctor Sterling Roquette." Robin pulled up her file on his hologlove, explaining who she was to the team.

"Does he know everything?" Pietro whispered to Wanda.

"Seems it." She mumbled back, an uneasy feeling entering her stomach.

"Abducted two weeks ago. By the League of Shadows." Roy corrected Robin. He explained how the doctor had already created a weapon, the Fog, for the League of Shadows. The Fog was used for theft of data and destruction of anything in its path.

"Perfect for extortion, manipulation, power brokering...yeah, sounds like the Shadows." Artemis added.

"Like you know anything about the Shadows." Wally snarked. Artemis smirked. "Who are you?!"

"Roquette is working on a virus to render the Fog inert." Roy got the team back on track. Robin mentioned that the Shadows would target her. "I stashed her at the local high school's computer lab."

"You left her alone?" Green Arrow was shocked.

"She's safe enough for now." Roy countered.

Green Arrow offered for the two of them to keep her safe and Roy rebuffed. Batman placed a hand on Arrow's shoulder. He conceded, saying it was the team's mission now.

"Sweet! Going up against assassins!" Pietro cheered. Everyone gave him a strange look. "What? Our last mission was against flying monkeys, give me a break."

Roy left, updating his zeta tube designation as he went. The team went to the bioship to head to the high school.

Happy Harbor

The team was spread out throughout the high school, Miss Martian and Superboy on the roof, Aqualad outside the lab with Scarlet Witch, Artemis, Quicksilver, Robin, Kid Flash inside the lab with the doctor.

Miss Martian, link us up. We don't want the Shadows intercepting our comms.

Everyone on?

Ugh, this is weird.

Doctor Roquette went on a rant about it being distracting and hard to work under these conditions.

Lady do you always complain when someone tries to help you?

Hey, I do not need attitude from the newbie who drove Red Arrow from the team!

Artemis and Kid Flash fought for a few minutes before she walked out to help Miss Martian and Superboy patrol the perimeter. Robin looked to Kid Flash.

You might want to cut her some slack. It was her arrow that saved you from Amazo.

What? No, that was Speedy's, I mean, Red Arrow's arrow. Right?

Quicksilver scoffed.

What's your deal, silvie?

Oh, just the fact that you're too proud to admit the truth.

Not!

Guys! Focus, fate of the world?

Aqualad asked the doctor if she could track the location of the Fog and she said she could but she would practically be giving away their location and asking to be assassinated. Aqualad assured her they would protect her and she went online, tracking the Fog.

Outside, Superboy, Artemis, and Miss Martian were patrolling the perimeter. Artemis was checking Superboy out.

Mm, that boy.

I know, right?

Uh, you two do realize we can all hear you?

We know.

Miss Martian, Roquette has located the fog. Reconfigure the bioship so Robin, Scarlet Witch, and Superboy can pursue.

After Miss Martian reconfigured the bioship, the three team members ran to the bioship and boarded, flying off towards their destination. Miss Martian confronted Artemis about embarrassing Superboy, asking if she must challenge everyone. Artemis said its how she survives.

Inside, Kid Flash followed a shadow he saw, running right onto a ground full of marbles, landing onto his back. A foot stomped on his face knocking him out.

At the computer lab, the door opened and a shuriken flew towards the doctor. Aqualad blocked it with his arm, engaging the attacker. He alerted the others that they were under attack in the computer lab.

"Where's KF?" Quicksilver asked as Miss Martian and Artemis came running into the room.

"We thought he was here." Artemis replied, firing an arrow at the assassin.

Quicksilver ran out of the room, a sinking feeling entering his stomach. He searched the building for Kid Flash, finding him in the pool, face down. He pulled Kid Flash out, trying to pump the water from his lungs. He gulped, leaning down to give him mouth to mouth.

Kid Flash coughed the water up, looking up at Quicksilver with wide eyes. Quicksilver narrowed his eyes at him. "Don't say a word."

"My lips are sealed if yours are."

"Good, now come on, they need our help." Quicksilver grabbed Kid Flash's hand pulling him to his feet. They raced back to the lab just in time to see the assassin throw a smoke bomb and disappear.

Robin came in over the comms to update the team on the situation in Philadelphia, they were too late. STAR labs was decimated. They decided to rescan for the Fog and move the doctor.

At the next location, a boat house on the water, Kid Flash and Artemis were inside with the Doctor. Artemis and Kid Flash were glaring at each other.

Stop it, both of you. I can hear you glaring.

Outside, Aqualad was hiding in the bushes before being ambushed by three Shadows, getting knocked out in the street. The three Shadows made their way to the building, breaking inside. They went to attack the doctor, Artemis and Kid Flash jumping into action.

"Don't stop working." Artemis commanded the doctor.

The Shadow with a Cheshire cat mask tackled the doctor, gasping when the doctor turned out to be Miss Martian. "We've been duped!"

At an internet café, Aqualad stood at the door, watching the streets while the real doctor worked on her virus.

With Robin, Scarlet Witch, and Superboy, they were coming up on the next target, a Wayne Tech building. Robin was explaining how they run a twenty four hour work force and how they would never evacuate the building in time. Scarlet Witch nodded, taking in a deep breath. "Leave it to me."

Artemis ran after the leader of the Shadow gang, Kid Flash yelling that she wasn't the boss of him before engaging in a fight with another Shadow. Artemis pursued the leader, fighting her briefly before getting knocked out.

Inside the building with Aqualad, he got shot with three spikes full of jelly fish toxin. "Let's test the limit of your jelly fish immunity shall we?" He ran at the leader, fighting for a moment before getting knocked out. "There, limit tested. Now, doctor. Time for my appointment."

With Robin's team he announced that the virus was downloading, but Superboy stated he didn't need it before jumping out of the bioship towards the Shadow's van. Robin yelled at him before Scarlet Witch followed. "Doesn't anyone listen to me?"

Scarlet Witch used her powers to propel herself into Wayne Tech's lobby, turning around to face the Fog as it approached. "Now or never." Her eyes lit up as she summoned the scarlet energy that lived within her, building two force fields, one around the entire Wayne Tech building and one around the entirety of the Fog. She screamed in pain as the Fog ate away at her powers as they were an extension of herself, falling to her knees. Putting more energy into the field around the Fog, she began to taste metal in her mouth as blood dripped from her nose. "Virus...please...work."

The Fog dissipated suddenly as the virus came online and Scarlet Witch fell completely to the ground, vaguely aware of footsteps running towards her. She smiled, knowing she did good work.

Mount Justice

"Is she going to be okay?" Artemis asked, looking down at her new teammate as she lay down on the medical bay bed.

Pietro sat at his sister's side, his hand entwined with hers. Wanda looked at all of her friends as they stared back in concern. "I will be fine. I just...pushed myself past my limitations. That is all."

They did not look convinced. "If you say so."

"Well, its late. We should all head home and get some rest." Robin bid everyone good night, walking towards the zeta tubes with Wally, Kaldur, and Artemis.

M'gann and Superboy left the twins be, walking to their rooms. Pietro turned to Wanda. "You really should tell them. Everything. Maybe they can help."

Wanda shook her head. "What is with the change of heart, brother? Before you did not want to be a part of this team and now you want me to spill my secrets to them." Wanda's eyes widened. "Is it because of a certain red head?"

"What? Pfft. No." Pietro looked away. "I just think this is getting out of your control."

"Pietro, trust me, I am handling it." Wanda smiled. "Now, what happened?"

Pietro stood up. "My lips are sealed. Sorry." He kissed Wanda's head. "Good night, sister. Feel better."

Wanda watched her brother leave the room, her smile slipping from her face. She hated keeping things from her twin, but there are some things he was better not knowing.
