Hidden Agenda
In Alaric's Lab, Alaric was startled to find Evengilena and her imposing bodyguard, Vajra, standing before him. Vajra's firm grip silenced Alaric's screams against the wall, while Evengilena shut the door behind her.
"Quiet, Alaric. Will you promise not to make a scene if Vajra releases you?" Evengilena demanded.
Alaric nodded . As Vajra loosened his hold, he wasted no time.
"Why are you here?" Alaric managed to ask.
"I'm here to obliterate all my Pluton-related research and kill you," Evengilena declared.
"But I'm no genius like you! Without that research, I can't replicate Pluton," Alaric pleaded.
"Pathetic," Evengilena scoffed, setting fire to the lab.
"Please, anything you ask," Alaric begged.
Handing him a vial, Evengilena laid out her terms: "Administer a drop of this serum to Elena every day for the next 70 days. You can mix it with other serums. Fail, and you die."
"But I can't risk Elena's life," Alaric protested.
"Do as I say, or face the consequences," Evengilena warned, before leaving with Vajra.
As Evengilena and Vajra walked outside, the cool night air whispered through the trees, carrying with it memories of a time long past. Evengilena was lost in nostalgia, her thoughts drifting to the years she had spent in Elysium. Vajra, however, had some questions to ask.
"What was that serum? Does Emilia know?" Vajra pressed.
"She doesn't need to know, and neither do you," Evengilena retorted, her tone final.
"This place holds so many memories. I miss some of the people," she confessed.
"You've never struck me as one to miss people," Vajra remarked.
"I detest most, but there are a select few whom I like," Evengilena admitted, her gaze distant.
"Who?" Vajra inquired.
"Nicklaus, Katherina, Eizen, and..." Her voice faltered, eyes glistening with unshed tears.
"And?" Vajra pressed.
"And my dearest friends, Salazar and Magnus," Evengilena concluded, her emotions laid bare.
As they made their way to their meeting point, they found Jerald and Emilia already waiting.
"Did you destroy your Pluton research?" Emilia inquired, her mask concealing her expression.
"Of course," replied Evengelina firmly.
"I still think we should have killed that Alaric guy, just to be safe," Emilia suggested.
"He's a fool. He can never create Pluton on his own. You have nothing to worry about," Evengelina reassured.
As they wait for Lucus, Jerald observes Emilia, who is standing alone and gazing at the moon. Behind that mask lies a girl with blue eyes and white hair, a Mickelson. "Who are you, Emilia?" he wonders.
He walks towards Emilia. "You are the daughter of Nicklaus Mickelson, right?" Jerald asks Emilia.
Emilia does not reply, her expressions hidden behind the mask.
"That can be the only explanation for you to come here to kill Draken; after all, he was the one who killed Nicklaus," says Jerald.
Still no reply.
"And your mother?" He walks closer to her. "It was Kathrina, wasn't it?"
Emilia turns towards Jerald. Jerald smiles.
"I hope she found some happiness with you all, even if it was short-lived," says Jerald as he starts walking.
He pulls a small worm-like creature from his bag and puts it in his right ear.
"Where is Lucus? He should have been here by now," Jerald wondered aloud.
The scene shifted to Mickelson Tower, where Elena was sound asleep. Suddenly, she felt a presence in her room, jolting her awake. Peering around, she saw no one, but a voice echoed.
"Elena, I need to speak with you," the voice resonated.
Unable to move or speak, Elena could only listen as the shadowy figure spoke from the corner of her room, his eyes piercing through the darkness.
"Don't be afraid. I mean you no harm," the voice assured her.
"I am Lucus Raven. I am going to bring peace to Elysium, and I want your help, a strong warrior like you..." Lucus's words were cut short by a sudden attack.
It was a man wielding a huge axe, adorned in golden armor with a crown symbol on his left breastplate - a Kingsguard of rank 2.
"Ajax Darkstone, good to see you've become a Kingsguard. However it's unfortunate your duty is to spy on a girl instead of protecting the king," Lucus taunted.
"Come on, Ajax! I wanted to hear what this traitor was going to say," a boy even younger than Elena joined, clad in silver armor and wielding a sword, his hair neatly combed backwards.
"Luke, take Elena out of here. I will handle him," Ajax commanded.
"You're letting even little boys fight now? Elysium must be in very bad condition," Lucus sneered.
"Bring your mother to my chamber, and I'll show you how 'little' I am. Oh wait! You've already killed her," Luke retorted, his voice laced with bitterness and anger.
"Luke! Did you not hear me?" Ajax exclaimed.
"I will handle this bastard! You take Elena out of here," Luke insisted, moving towards Lucus with his sword drawn.
Ajax, with a frustrated look, escorted Elena out of the tower.
"Come at me, old man! What are you waiting for?" says Luke, his voice filled with defiance.
"Your fight is with me," a voice interrupts from behind. It was Jasper.
"Ah, Jasper! So Lucus is here to break you out," Luke remarks.
"Jasper, I'll let you handle things here," Lucus says, starting to run towards where Ajax went.
"Not so fast!" Luke interjects, moving to attack Lucus.
But he's blocked by Jasper's sword. "Didn't I tell you? Your fight is with me!"
"Fine, I'll kill you first," Luke retorts.
They both engage in a fierce swordfight, the clash of their blades reverberating throughout the entire Mickelson Tower.
Jasper utilizes his Ruah to conjure flames, enveloping his sword. They exchange blows, sometimes clashing their swords and sometimes resorting to hand-to-hand combat. Both fighters are evenly matched.
"Lady Elena! Are you okay? What is happening here?" Lily, Elena's servant, enters the room amidst the chaos.
"Get out of here! It's dangerous!" Jasper shouts, trying to protect her.
Ignoring Jasper's warning, Lily moves closer. Luke swiftly advances toward her and slices her throat. Lily's lifeless body crumples to the ground, and Luke holds her severed head, a cruel smirk aimed at Jasper.
"Why did you do it?" Jasper asks with a cold expression.
"I don't see the spark in your eyes . I know you like to protect justice, so here," Luke throws Lily's head towards Jasper, "fight for her, Jasper."
Jasper's anger surges. He becomes engulfed in flames, his eyes burning with fury. In an instant, he lunges at Luke, delivering a powerful punch that sends him crashing to the ground.
As Luke rises, he taunts Jasper further, goading him into a frenzy. Jasper's movements become swift and precise, but Luke manages to block each attack with ease.
"Come on, Jasper! You need to serve justice for that woman," Luke laughs. With every taunt, Jasper's anger intensifies. Finally, he finds an opening and thrusts his sword through Luke's chest.
"This is exactly how I killed Jade Scarlet, a Celestial," Jasper declares.
"Jade was an idiot," Luke smirks.
Suddenly, a sword pierces through Jasper from behind. He turns to see Luke standing there, alive and well.
"This is what anger does. Have you forgotten the special ability of House Rosevale?" Luke pulls out the sword, preparing to deliver the final blow. But before he can strike, his sword is blocked by the sudden appearance of Jerald, surprising Luke.
"Well, well! I never would have guessed you were behind all this, Jerald," says Luke.
"And you must be the infamous Evengilena, creator of Pluton, I have heard stories about you and your bodyguard, Vajra " he asks looking at Evengilena.
"And who is this?" Luke asks pointing his sword towards Emilia.
"She is my friend. You're outnumbered young man," Evengelina replies.
"I know," says Luke, pulling out a dagger and stabbing it into his neck. "Goodbye! It was nice meeting you all," he adds before collapsing to the ground.
"Looks like he has mastered the Rosevale technique well!" Evengelina comments.
"Why did Lucus and Jasper come to Mickelson tower?" Emilia interrupts with her question to Jerald.
"We need to stop Jasper's bleeding first," Jerald replies as he places Jasper on the ground.
"Don't play dumb with me. What are you guys planning?" Emilia demands, pointing her sword at Jerald.
"I honestly don't know why Lucus came here. Our plan was just to break out Jasper, that's it. Neither Draken's murder nor the destruction of the Pluton research paper was in our plan," Jerald explains.
"I think he's telling the truth. I can sense the battle that's going on not far from here. Let's go," Evengelina suggests.
"If you find him, tell him about Jasper's situation. We need to get out of here," Jerald instructs.
Evengelina nods, and she, Emilia, and Vajra head out to find Lucus.
