Kavod was bored at home, wondering what to do. His half-brother, Branchstorm, sat on the chair beside his. Suddenly, he thought of an idea.

"Let's go explore beyond the Land of the Elves!" he said to his brother.

Branchstorm nodded and they saddled up on two different dragons: Branchstorm on Beastly Lightbeak and Kavod on his own dragon, Slayer Clawbrood.

Clawbroods were black dragons with crimson red bellies, snouts, and tails. Kavod raised them himself. He always wanted to raise a dragon, so he went and found a baby Clawbrood: Slayer.

They got equipment that they thought they might need: swords, water, food, bows and arrows, some books, a map of the Land of the Elves, a map that Branchstorm made of the Land of the Branches (Kavod wanted his own map of his homeland, but Branchstorm told him that he had to make the map), and armor.

Then they were all set to go explore beyond the Land of the Elves.

They finished getting the saddles on the dragons and got on them, but Kavod was a little scared about riding a dragon for the first time.

Branchstorm told him it would be OK, but still, Kavod worried: "What if I fall? What if I lose you? What if I lose the food?"

Branchstorm got off his dragon and helped Kavod calm down and explained to him what it felt like to ride one. Finally, he got back onto Beastly and they flew over the Land of the Elves, looking for adventure.
