Aru's POV

So, not only did Sophie raise a magic wand and teleport Aru, Aiden, Mini, Brynne, and Rudy to a freezing cold, rocky cliffside, she wanted them to jump into a whirlpool.

"NO WAY!" Rudy shouted over the salt spray and rushing waves. "I'M TOO FABULOUS TO DIE." 

"It'll be fine, trust me," Sophie reassured him. The naga still shook his head and hid behind Mini. "YOU SEE THIS OUTFIT? IT'S FROM THE NEW SUMMER COLLECTION!" He was wearing a neon orange tracksuit and bright yellow shoes. "IT'S TOO AMAZING TO GET WET, AND SO AM I." Sophie sighed.  

Aru, meanwhile, thought that the spinny whirlpool was awesome. "YEE-HAWWWWWWW!" she yelled and cannonballed into the whirlpool. She whooped and laughed all the way down the waterslide.

She landed on a bouncy, poofy sponge. "That was awesome!" she whispered to herself, making snow angels in the strange material. Life was awesome, until a blur rocketed into her stomach. "Oof," Aru groaned. 

"Shah, you were in the way," Aiden sighed. Aru rolled over and smushed her face into the sponge. "Oof," she repeated stubbornly. "Ow, Wifey. That hurt."

"Look out!" Aiden dragged Aru out of the way of a second collision. Rudy, as it seemed, had been too scared to go down alone and had to hold Mini's hand. The two tumbled onto the sponge and Rudy had his eyes squeezed tight in fear. Mini tried to coax him to open them as Brynne slid onto the sponge, and finally Sophie. 

For the first time, Aru really got a chance to look around. Sophie told them they were in Atlantis. Tall, skyscraper-like buildings and castles that glittered rose into the sky. A huge force field surrounded the city, protecting it from the water.

"This is amazing," Aiden breathed, whipping out Shadowfax from his backpack and snapping photos. 

"This is gross," Aru sighed. "I mean, I like sparkles, but this is a sparkle overload." Sophie grinned. 

"I felt the same way when I first arrived - still do. Now follow me. You are all in human clothes, and so am I. Let's take you to a store, and then we'll go to Mysterium." 

Sophie took them to a store called Slurps and Burps. The door belched as they walked in. The shelves were lined with cool potions like a wizard's lair. Aru liked it.

A man with strawberry-blond hair walked out of the back of the shop, wiping his hands on his apron. He spoke in a strange language to Sophie, and she spoke back. "What is he saying?" Brynne asked. Sophie grinned evilly. "It's makeover time!"

Aiden threw his hands up. "Last time Nikita said makeover time, I ended up in a ball gown with a tiara on my head and enough makeup for a whole clown car." Aru snickered. She still had the photos on her phone. 

Sophie shook her head. "No, you don't understand. It's time for a makeover, Elvin style."

Sophie's POV

Kesler flitted around the shelves, grabbing elixirs and handing them to the rest of the group, as well as Sophie. He was kind enough to not ask questions. 

"Drink these," Sophie told the Potatoes in English. They downed the elixirs, gagging on the awful flavors, and watched themselves in awe transform in the mirror.

Aru's eyes shifted to a dark indigo. Her skin lightened to honey, and she took out her braid as her dark hair curled and tightened into a lighter brown. Freckles now dotted her nose. She gaped at herself in the mirror.

Aiden's hair turned a light blond and turned shaggier. His skin lightened and his eyes shifted to ice blue. Sophie glanced at Kesler, who smiled softly. While Aiden didn't look exactly like Keefe, he now looked similar. Sophie had a feeling that Kesler had meant this to be an act of love but in reality, it just made her situation hurt more. 

Mini's eyes became violet blue, and her short hair became kinky and longer. Her honey skin got darker by a few shades, and she blinked a couple of times before removing her glasses. When she spoke, her voice was an octave higher - "Hey! I've got perfect vision now!" She placed her glasses carefully in her pocket.

Brynne grinned as she watched herself transform in the mirror. Her eyes changed to a very dark blue, almost black. Her hair changed to ginger and shortened into a choppy bob cut. Her already large muscles bulged even bigger, and she flexed in the mirror, making Sophie jealous.

Finally, Rudy tried his elixirs. He was scared at first to change his "perfect, beautiful face," but chugged a bottle that Sophie told him was called "Mustache of the Century." A very thin but dark layer of peach fuzz began to grow on his upper lip, then thickened into a real mustache. About six inches was added onto his height, so his tracksuit looked comically small. His eyes switched to a blinding electric blue.

"Whoa, Sophie, look at yourself," Mini told her. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her skin was tanner, her hair a chocolatey brown now, and her entire face was dotted in freckles. Her eyes were a pale sky blue and were wider. Her lips were thinner. 

Kesler gave the Potatoes and Sophie tunics and Elvin clothes to Mysterium. Rudy was loving his new outfit even more than his horrendous tracksuit, but the rest of the Potatoes tugged at the fabric. Aru tried to pick the jewels off of the hem of her tunic, but Sophie slapped her hand away.

"Let's go to Mysterium!" she chanted.
