(Toby's point of view)

She flung herself on me and....kissed me. She kissed.....me? The last time this happened it nearly killed her. She seemed so upset before. She broke away from the kiss and leaned into me. I embraced her, unsure of what else to do. She holds onto me and cries slightly.

"Toby." She says? "I'm so sorry. I didn't want you to know. Not like this. Now you know why I can't be with you." She cries.

"Ssshh Ella, its okay. I understand." I say.

She sobs into my shoulder.

"And thats why I'm going to protect you. We can just be friends if thats what you want. I'll be here for you ok? I know your strong. You'd have to be, to go through what you do. But I'll be here. If you need a friend then thats what I'll be. I'll be your foundation. I'll be the handle to your hatchet."

She looks up at me with watery eyes. "Thank you." She whispers.

She leans back into me and we embrace a while longer. Things are gonna be a little bit awkweird between us now.

There is just something about her. I didn't notice until now. When I'm with her.

I don't twitch.

Its been a few days since I slipped up. Slenderman was upset but let it slide. It's been weird around Ariella. Ben and Laughing Jack watch me like a damn hawk. It's annoying really.

Twitch.

When I first came back, Ariella had to keep them from pouncing on me. They didn't like my feelings for her.

Ben and Jeff were playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl on the Wii in the living room. Laughing Jack and Eyeless Jack are fighting as usual. Masky and hoodie are eating cheesecake. Smile is outside.

I go out to look for him and instead find Ariella. She is sitting in a tree. She's like 20 feet up. I look at her and smile. She looks at me and motions for me to come up. I start climbing and sit on a branch next to her.

"Look at the sky. Isn't it wonderful?" She asks.

It's nearly dark. The Sun is setting, turning the sky into an array of orange and purples.

"Wow." I say.

"It is very pretty, but I prefer the moon." She says.

"Really?" I ask, "So do I."

She looks at me and blushes slightly. She is so cute when she blushes.

"Toby."

"Hmm?" I ask.

"I don't want things to be awkward anymore. So let's hang out. Tomorrow we can go get pizza or something. I want to know you. Then....maybe....we can try....to....be more. I just don't want to get too close, and then you lose me because of this." She says.

I give her a soft smile.

"Ok that sounds great." I say.

We sit in the tree for a long time. Then out of no where LJ poofs in between us. Well when he did that I fell off the branch and landed on the ground. Ariella was screaming at LJ. She flashed down here and kept asking if I was ok. I keep having to remind her that I can't feel pain.

I stand up but my foot gave out and I fell on my face. LJ went hysterical with laughter.

"Damn it Jack! I think you broke his leg!" Ariella shouts.

She bends down and looks at my leg.

"Well your ankle is shattered. That much is for sure." She says. "Take your shirt off."

I blush slightly.

"What?" LJ growls.

"Look I have to make sure he didn't get cut up OK. If you hadn't made him fall this wouldn't be necessary." She snapped.

"Fine." LJ growled, and poofed away.

I took off my shirt so Ariella could see.

(Ariella's point of view)

Toby takes his shirt off and....damn! Toby's pretty built. Is that? Oh god he has a six pack. Ok Ella, whew, calm down. I guess I was staring because Toby was smirking at me.

"Enjoying the view?" He asks.

"Shut up!" I say as I spin him around, to check his back. "Hmmm....A few scrapes and bruises...nothing major." I say, "Let me see your arms."

He smiles and starts flexing.

"Thats not what I meant." I laugh.

I grab his hand and examine it.

"Well, the left wrist is sprained. Other than that, and your left ankle, you're fine." I say.

"Oh great." He says, "Slendy will be sooo thrilled."

I help him up and have him lean on me.

"Good thing we weren't too far out." I say.

"Yeah, that would've been one long walk." He laughs.

We wobble the 30 yards back to the back door. We come through the back door and into the kitchen. Masky and Hoodie were preparing a cheesecake. Jeez, how much of that stuff can they eat? Masky noticed we came in.

"Hey guys. Where have ya bee- Toby? Whats wrong with your foot?" He asked.

"Kinda fell out of a tree....and shattered his ankle." I say.

"What? How'd that happen?" Hoodie asked.

"The Laughing Jack-ass knocked me out of the tree." Toby says.

"Hey thats my line!" Eyeless Jack yells from the living room.

"Sorry Jack, needed to use it this once." Toby yells back.

"Where is LJ?" Masky growls.

Weird. Masky never growls. He is usually the calm one.

"Masky calm down." Hoodie said.

"Why should I calm down?! LJ broke Toby's ankle! He pushed him out of a tree!" Masky yells.

Slendy teleports into the kitchen.

"What is going on down here? I can sense Masky from upstairs. Toby? Are you alright?" He asks.

"Uh....well-"

Toby was interupted by Masky.

"LJ pushed him out of a tree and broke his ankle."

Slendy faced us and I set Toby in a chair.

"He what?" Slendy asked.

"No big deal sir." Toby said, "I can't feel it anyway."

"That isn't the point Toby. The point is that you are hurt, and won't be able to do anything for a while." Slendy said.

Toby got a look on his face I haven't seen before.

"Y-you mean I can't work? I can't carve? Or anything?" Toby asked.

"I'm afraid not." Slendy replied.

"But I have to work sir." Toby said sadly.

"I'm afraid I must advise against it." With that Slendy walked out with Masky trailing behind him.

"Sorry Toby." I say, "I guess we can't get pizza tomorrow."

Toby looks at me and gives me a devious grin. "Oh yes we can." He says.

"Wha? How? Slenderman said-"

"I know what he said. Just trust me."

I give him an unsure look and he wobbles into the foyer. I helped him up the stairs, and to his room. Weird. I thought his room would be darker. But it's not. It's so bright and open. Almost everything is made out of wood. He has country pictures on his wall. George Strait, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and loads more. Not exactly the kind of music you would expect someone like him to listen to. I was shocked to say the least.

"Come with me." He said and motioned to the window.

I followed and looked out the window. There was a very large oak beside his room. He climbed onto a branch and held his hand out to me. I hesitantly took it and climbed out the window to join him.

"Won't it be hard to climb with your ankle like that?" I asked.

"Yes. Unless you heal it." He said.

"Toby I've never had to heal a shattered bone before. Wait. How do you?"

"Come on Ella. You should know I do my research." He said.

Huh? Research? What does he mean by that? My thoughts were interrupted when Toby kept climbing. I climbed about 10 more feet then moved to the tree next to us. He did this until we were 70 feet up and over 200 yards away from the mansion.

He stopped, turned to me and said, "close your eyes."

I obeyed and closed them. I heard the rustling of leaves, then Toby said to open my eyes. I did and was astonished at what I saw before me.

Right in front of my eyes was a beautiful tree house.

"Toby." I said, "Its amazing. Did you do this?" I ask.

He smiled and nodded.

"About two years after I came to the mansion, I was climbing these trees. I found this perfect spot to sit and watch nature. After a while I decided why not make it more comfortable? So...this is my home away from home. My own secret get away. You're the only one I've shown." He said.

I stare at the tree house awestruck.

"Would you like a tour?" He asks.

I felt my face heat up as I nodded yes and he took my hand.
