"Okay you have to keep your necklace on at all times, Stefan says it has Vervain in it, it keeps them from compelling you."

I nod my head as I get ready

"Hey, are you sure you gonna still let Stef go?" I look over to Elena as she's sitting on my bed picking at her jeans, she shrugs her shoulders.

"So you might get pissed but Damon took my necklace." She looks up and groans

"Can't you keep one thing, Liz? You always have to lose something." I put my hands on my hips

"For your information, I was fighting for my life over there! Blondie left my ass." She snickers as she rolls her eyes

"Oh come on by the time Stefan got there he said you were gone, you didn't even have a scratch, and if I remember correctly you chased Caroline off the lawn."

"I told the bitch to stay off my lawn, I had to teach her ass a lesson." She shakes her head and rolls off my bed walking out the door and heading downstairs, I follow behind her.

I hear Jeremy singing I knew you were trouble

"I knew you were trouble when you walked in!" I snicker, he was singing with a hairbrush as I creep behind him

"Oh my god, the next Beyoncé!" I yell as I pull his underwear up

"omg, Liz! Not again! Jenna!" I look over as Jenna approaches

"Can she seriously lift your ass, Jeremy! Holy shit she just gave your ass a wedgie!" She laughs her ass off as she makes her way to the kitchen, snickering as she goes. Jeremy shakes me off and starts getting ready

"Where is your ass going?" He looks back at me

"the police station, they're organizing a search party for Vicky." I sigh as Elena makes her way to us

"wait, shouldn't you be going to school."

"Wait you're kidding me right?"

"You shouldn't be skipping school, if they find her we'll know, that's what cell phones are." I roll my eyes knowing this will end up being a fight.

"your lips keep moving but I don't know why." I try and hold my laughter in, but I failed miserably.

"O come on that come back was on point!" I turn and hold my hand up

"Come on, don't leave me hanging Jer!" I laugh, my hope falls through as Jeremy shoves through me and out of the door.

"Good job Lena."

"What did I do?" I shake my head as I make my way to the kitchen.

"Mattie baby hate to see you leave, but love to watch you go!"

"Mattie baby love me!" I yell as I envelop Matt in a hug.

"Omg Liz I know you feel sorry, but please don't get clingy." I pout as I let him go

"you gonna be okay babe?" He shakes his head

"I don't know anymore Liz." He puts his head down as he walks away. I shake my head

"Okay come on we're going to the boarding house." My eyes pop

"Are you kidding me? No! Hell no! I almost died in there!" She rolls her eyes

"I swear you're the dumb girl that dies first in a movie, and I'm going to die because of you." She shakes her head as she makes her way towards the doors dragging me with her.

Elena knocks on the door as I stand with my hands crossed. Please be Stefan, please be Stefan." Hello Liz, Elena." I give Damon a curt nod as I keep my head down avoiding Day's eyes.

"Is Stefan here?"

"Yep." I look up to Damon leaning against the door, staring at me.

"Good morning to you little miss I'm on a mission." Elena pushes past him leaving me all alone on the porch. I try and send a twin signal to Elena, but the bitch never comes back.

"It's been too long Liz."

"You killed Vicky."

"She came back, tada problem solved." I step up to Damon

"Why didn't you kill me Day?" I look into his eyes as he tries to avoid the question

"you know, you left your little vervain necklace here the other day." I nod, putting my head down, my eyes catch Damon pulling something out of this pocket, I watch as he puts it near my face

"Here." I look up, and slowly take the necklace from his hands, as it burns him

"Why?"

"Take it as a truce." I smile

"Thanks, Day." I walk through the door while pulling my necklace over my head, trying and failing to put it on

"here, I'll help." I turn halfway and nod as Damon takes the necklace and clips it around my neck, his hands are so cold, I could feel his breath on the back of my neck. I wonder how long they have been that way. How long has it been since he's had someone hold them?

I make my way towards the living room as Damon leaves. It's quiet, too quiet. "Hello?" I say as I look around the corner not seeing anything, I take a step forward, and I hear a creek from behind me. My heart starts thumping in fear, does the universe want my ass to die here? I turn slowly around and there's nothing in sight.

"Boo!" I turn forward, and see Vicky with her fangs out, I grab the nearest things and hit Vicky repeatedly on the head with a figurine

"you thought bitch!" I yell as I bring my other hand and continue to hit the bitch

"ow okay, Eliza that's enough!" I stop and give a smile, I hit her one more time for good measure.

"I hope you think about the next time you try me hoe!" Stefan speeds in the back of Vicky

"Wow, you finally showed up! You're a little late Stef." I tell Stefan as I pat his shoulder, throw the figurine to the side and make my way to Elena.

"I'm working with her, Elena it's going to take time."

"What are we going to tell Mattie and Jer?"

"She needs time, and I didn't have someone to learn control, but I'm here, I can teach her." Elena nods her head as she stares up at Stefan.

"I'm going to keep her here until she can control it."

"How long is that?" I look over to Vicky as she enters the hall, I stick my tongue at her.

"We can talk about that later."

"Hey, Vicky how are you?" My eyes pop, it was going to end up being a fight, Elena and Vicky have never gotten along.

"How am I? You're kidding right?" I snort and make my way toward the door

"well I've got a busy day, I'm a popular girl you know!" I yell as I close the door get into the car and take off.

"I've got your costume, it's all here." I look up to Caroline as she hands Bonnie her Halloween costume, I look over Bonnie's shoulder as she pulls it out.

"Seriously come on Care." I glare at Caroline as I watch Bonnie examine the Witch costume.

"Can someone please be excited that it's Halloween?" I roll my eyes as I pull my book from Damon out of my locker.

"Where did you get that?" I look u at Caroline

"from a friend, it's very old and precious to me." Caroline nods her head, still examining the book in my hands.

"I just want to have fun some frilly, fluffy Damon-free fun." I groan as Caroline yet again pokes at Damon. Bonnie pulls out an old-looking necklace,

"Hey isn't this the one from Damon?"

"Yep. You can wear it, throw it away, I don't care. Hey have you seen Elena I need to know what she's going to wear I chuckle

"I honestly don't know if we're even going this year." She gives me a pout. The bell rings disrupting us, we make our way to class.

Elena rushes home, "hey are you okay? What's up?" She gives me a nod indicating we were going to talk later.

"Hey, Jeremy wanna go to the Halloween thing at school? It could be fun." He gives her a snicker,

"ya sure totally fun." He says in a smart-ass way

"be an asshole one more time, imma knock your ass down a peg." I walk up the stairs going to the back of my closet, retrieving last year's costume. I look into the mirror as I apply my red lipstick, completing my Wonder Woman Costume.

"Come on Jeremy, Liz!" Elena yells from downstairs, I start making my way to the door.

As we make it to the party at school I see Matt out front going with our idea, he's wearing last year's costume as well. It's a little awkward as Matt and Elena are matching now.

"Last year's costume as well?" I give him a small smile

"ya, we didn't know we were coming till the last minute."

"Hey, I'm sorry about Vicky Mattie."

"O about that she's fine, she's even here too." I and Elena meet eyes with panic

"she's here?"

"Ya, you can't miss her she's a vampire."

"Of course." I grab Elena and start moving

"Okay, you go left I'll go right call immediately if you see Jeremy or Vicky." Elena shakes her head at my commands and starts running left, I start my way right looking around frantically.

"I didn't peg you for a Wonder Woman chick."

"You don't know much about me Day."

"Hey!" I turn around, and Damon takes my face into his hands

"what's wrong? Why are you making that face."

"Vicky's here, and Jeremy's here and I'm worried that she can't control it!" He shakes his head,

"Okay I need you to calm down Gilbert, let me listen." I shake my head and watch as Damon listens for Jeremy.

"Out back, follow me." I shake my head as Damon grabs my hand and we take off dodging and weaving through the crowds.

"Omg, Vicky what are you doing!" Jeremy yells as we make our way to the buses, I let go of Damon and run towards Jeremy, jumping in front of him.

"Vicky I need you to calm down, you don't want to hurt him remember?" I try and talk Vicky out of hurting Jeremy, but her eyes have yet to change

"but I'm so hungry!" She yells as she charges at us, I push Jeremy out of the way as Vicky rips my head back pulling my curls, and bites down. I yell as the pain envelopes me, I look over to Jeremy on the ground, and I mouth I love you to him.

"Omg! Liz!" I hear Elena yell as I'm ripped from Vicky. I look up as Damon throws Vicky to the ground, Stefan stabs her with a stake in the heart. I could hear Jeremy yelling for Vicky, but I could hear my heart pounding over everything. I pull my hand to my neck, and I could feel the blood pushing out, I pull my hand back, and I shockingly look at my hand. I hadn't noticed I was shaking, or that Elena had made her way over to me. I look up at Damon as he stands in front of me, I couldn't tell what he was feeling, his eyes were guarded.

"Day?" I shakily say, he slowly makes his way to me and helps me up, I look over to Jeremy as he yells and cry's over Vicky

"Jer?"

"You need to go Liz." I shake my head and give Damon's hand a squeeze silently thanking him. I make my way to Jer and help Elena pick him up, covering my wound as we make our way out as fast as we could go.

" Hey, are you okay?" Jeremy shakes his head as I sit down next to him. I hug him from the side,

"do you understand what happened?"

"No, I don't."

"She was going to kill you, She almost killed me, it had to happen."

"It hurts Liz."

"I know," I say as I hug him. I make my way downstairs and out the door.

"I don't think he's going to get through this." Elena shakes her head

"Stefan, can you take his pain away?" I look up shocked at Elena

"no we can't take his memory away, he needs to heal on his own, please don't do this Lena."

"He needs help. Losing mom and dad broke him, he's not going to get over this."

"Don't take his choice away."

"I can do it." I turn around as Damon makes his way toward me

"If you want me to I can do it." I silently shake my head, I grab Damon's hand

"please I don't think this is right." He looks into my eyes

"do it." I look over to Elena, he shakes his head and makes his way to Jeremy. This isn't right, we can't take his choice away, I don't know why Elena couldn't see it.

"Hey, why are you still up?" I look to the window seeing Damon

"I can't sleep, I see Vicky's face every time I try and shut my eyes." He shakes his head in understanding. He makes his way towards my bed, and he takes his shoes off and crawls in, I lay my head on his chest.

"I want to thank you for saving me Day." He hums

"I'm not going to give up on you." He shakes his head

"There's nothing human left anymore, I can help you sleep." I look up to him

"would you?" He nods, he looks into my eyes,

"I need to take your necklace off." I nod my head as he does. I could see his eyes move as he compels me to sleep, the last thing I see is his eyes.
