Chapter 8
Fawn opened her cabin on the Ghost, pausing in the entrance. Everything looked completely how she'd left it. The paintings on the walls weren't different at all, reminding Fawn of her past on the ship. The dragons trotted into the room, sniffing and purring with pleasure at the state of the cabin. They chose their spots and Fawn was relived there weren't as many as there was last time she stayed in the Rebellion. Sharing a room with more than thirty dragons was cramped and difficult. Now there was only fifteen, it was needless to say Fawn was perfectly content. She began unpacking when she heard the door slide open. Glancing over, she saw Kanan standing in then doorway.
"Hey Kanan" Fawn greeted, turning back to her crates.
"What can I do for you?"
"Well there's two things, Hera sent me to tell you we're coming out of hyperspace soon and the second thing is Ezra."
Upon hearing the mention of her brother, Fawn's attention instantly snapped to the Jedi.
"What's wrong with him?" She asked.
"He missed you Fawn, you and Whiplash. He wasn't himself for a few days after you left. He eventually perked up, but the loss at Malacore messed with him" Kanan explained.
"You'd better come in" Fawn took a crate from her meditation chair and allowed Kanan to sit on it.
"Tell me everything" Fawn sat opposite the man.
The dragons stopped talking and looked over at the two Jedi curiously.
"Fawn, Ezra was in emotional pain after Malacore's events. He...he even opened the Sith Holocron in his state."
Fawn sucked in a breath of shock at this. Ezra, her own brother, opened a Sith Holocron? She couldn't believe it. She remembered what her Master told her a while back;
Aliby looked at his Padawan seriously.
"Fawn, listen to me. Remember in your younger years how you had no restraint over your Dark side connection and once lost all sense of control and went completely in over your head?" He asked.
"As much as I'd like to forget those memories, I do remember" Fawn admitted to her Master dryly.
"Well, I fear the same for your brother" Aliby said.
He was right all along. Ezra had fallen to the call of the Dark Side.
"You took care of it, I hope?" Fawn asked.
"Yes, the Holocron isn't even functional anymore so there's no way he can use it again" Kanan replied.
"Well that's good to hear" Fawn sighed in relief.
"However, now that you and Whiplash are back, I've noticed he still hasn't come right. I talked with him the other day and he said he was angry because you'd chosen your home over him. It hurt him Fawn, I don't blame you for your choice, but you need to sort things out with Ezra."
Fawn gazed at the floor, guilt twisting her heart as she thought about Kanan's words.
"I'll talk to him" she said.
"I promise."

The Ghost jumped from hyperspace and entered Attalon's star system. The dragons and Fawn gazed at the golden brown planet that was the rebels base.
"Seems like a very remote place" Fawn remarked.
"And that's why it makes such a good place to keep our forces" Hera told the Gray Jedi.
The Ghost approached the planet and broke through the surface. The Krykna spiders scuttled along the sandy plains of the planet, chittering as the ship passed them.
"Son of the Force, what are those things?" Colour Fly stared at the creatures.
"Krykna spiders" Sabine replied.
"A real nuisance to us. We had to put sensor markers around the base so they couldn't attack us."
"I hate em" Zeb growled.
"You hate everything with more than two legs" Bludgeon grinned teasingly.
Ezra and Whiplash chuckled then looked at each other in surprise. Fawn noticed how unbalanced their bond was when they turned away from one another and made a mental promise to set it right.
The Ghost rested in the landing ports and hissed as the ramp lowered.
"Let's go" Hera stood and left the cockpit with the others.
The rebels and dragons went down the ramp, going towards the Command Center.
"Fawn?" Rex exclaimed looking up from the crates he was sorting through.
"Huh?" Wedge, who was working with him asked.
The pilot turned to look and felt his jaw drop. Everything moved in slow motion to him as Fawn walked, eyelids battering and a sweet smile on her face. Her eyes shone in the reflection of the sun, while her caramel hair flowed over her glinting armour. Wedge felt his heart twist and watched as Fawn and the others continued on their way to the Command Center.
"Who's that?" Wedge asked, tapping Rex on the shoulder.
"Ha! She will squash you like a bug" Rex said.
"Her name" Wedge told the Clone.
"Fawn Bridger, sister of Ezra and a Gray Jedi" Rex replied, then noticed how Wedge was looking at her.
"Hey, no staring, she's not something put on display" he said sharply before walking over to the group.
Wedge watched as Rex went over and felt himself smile. Fawn. Her name, was Fawn.
"Fawn!" Rex said as he caught up.
The Gray Jedi looked over in surprise, then her face broke into a smile.
"Rex! Hey, how've you been?" She asked.
"Good thanks, and you?"
"Never better now that I'm back" Fawn replied.
"It's good that you're here, we need your help" Rex said.
"Yeah, I heard about the pilot dilemer."
They reached the Center and Commander Sato stood at the projection table, looking over plans.
"Commander Sato" Hera said as they approached.
The man looked up and gave them a nod.
"Captain Syndulla" he said.
"Your mission?"
"Grant it a sucess" Hera replied moving aside so Fawn could step forward.
Sato smiled at Fawn who returned the expression.
"Hello Commander" Fawn saluted the man.
"Fawn Bridger" the Commander replied.
"I brought fifteen of my best dragons with me, I apologize if it isn't enough."
"No, fifteen is a good amount, thank you for rejoining our cause Fawn" Sato said.
"Thanks for giving me the chance."
Suggestions are open and appreciated.
