Chapter 3
"Are you sure about this Captain Syndulla?" Commander Sato asked.
"Positive sir. We need Fawn, I'm going to try to convince her to come back" Hera replied.
"Athem."
The Twe'lik looked over her shoulder at the rest of the Ghost Crew. Sabine stood at the front with a raised brow.
"We're going to try to convince her to come back" Hera corrected herself.
Sato gave a nod.
"Very well" he agreed.
"But if you don't succeed, at least ask her if she can keep in touch about information that might come in useful."
"Of course."
Hera then turned and walked back to her ship with the crew behind her.
"So we're seriously going back to Kabera?" Zeb asked.
"Unless you want to stay here" Hera told him.
"Are you kidding? I would give up my bow rifle to see Kabera again."
Hera smiled slightly at that then glanced over at Ezra. His arms were crossed as he gazed at the ground.
"Ezra? Are you excited about seeing Whiplash again?" She asked.
The boy didn't reply. He kept his focus on the ground and didn't make a sound. Hera opened her mouth to ask again but Kanan put a hand on her shoulder.
"Let him be for now" he said quietly.
"Remember he hasn't seen Fawn for six months."
Hera placed a hand over Kanan's to show she understood before climbing the ladder. Everyone else followed her into the cockpit where Hera started up the controls as she sat down.
"We'll be back in a hour or two" she told the others.
The Ghost lifted from the plains of Atalon and flew into the sky. Ezra watched as the blue and white streaks of hyperspace met his gaze.
'I'm going back to Kabera' he kept thinking.
'I'm going back to my dragon...and my sister.'
Ezra felt her stomach twist. He didn't know why he felt nervous. He always got along well with Fawn so why did he feel so anxious? He felt a hand rest on his shoulder while calming waves came through the Force. Ezra looked up to see Kanan standing above him.
'I'll be fine' Ezra thought.
'I've got the others.'
It wasn't long before the Ghost dropped from hyperspace. The large, golden star cluster stood menacingly in space. Zeb stood at the front of the cockpit, bow rifle in hand. He struck the dashboard and yellow lightning crackled over the controls. Ezra and Kanan rested their hands on Zeb's back, letting the Force flow. While they did so, Hera piloted the Ghost towards the star cluster and jumped into hyperspace. Ezra was almost thrown off his feet. He dug his boots into the floor and was forced to close his eyes as the bright light filled his vision. He'd forgotten how wild the journey was to Kabera. Considering he hadn't visited in a while, the memory of a glaze and trippy motion had left his memory. Another thing Ezra forgotten was when they'd first traveled to Kabera, he'd fallen unconscious. Once again, the darkness was consuming his vision. Latching onto Kanan for support, Ezra did his best to steady himself. The older Jedi placed a a reasurring hand on Ezra's shoulder, also trying to stay on his feet.
"There's something wrong with the stabilizers!" Hera exclaimed as the ship shuddered and bucked dangerously.
"Do you mean we could get stuck in here?" Sabine asked in terror.
"I don't want to think about it" Hera answered, squinting through the glare of light.
Ezra couldn't hold on anymore. His legs gave out from underneath him and he collasped. Beside him, he heard the thudding of Sabine falling. It wasn't long before Kanan and Zeb were on their knees, struggling to remain conscious. Ezra crumped to the floor, the colourful streaks of hyperspace the last thing he saw. The Ghost shuddered again as his eyelids slid shut and Ezra knew no more.
