Kira:

The king stood up and walked to the end of the hall. I followed him curious of what we were doing now. He turned to the guard at the door.

"Prepare my carriage." Then he left the room and I scurried after him. He leads me to the edge of the palace and we stood on the golden steps waiting for his carriage. I watched the clouds sail by so close underneath us when a beautiful carriage pulled by gleaming white Pegasuses. It was gold lined with pearls and white satin cushions. A guard skipped down the steps and opened the door. The king stepped in and I followed suit. Then with a toss of their manes the Pegasuses their wings and took off at a tremendous speed. I watched as the city disappeared behind me and the clouds flew past us. We started getting lower and I saw below us a huge lake with a forest on one side and a volcano on the other. We finally crossed the water and was flying over the forest. Then the horses started to decline till we finally touched the ground. We had landed in the middle of a stone circle that was elevated with stairs surrounding it. As soon as we touched down two elves ran up to us, a boy and a girl. The boy had brown eyes the girl had green-brown.

"King Mandez we have been expecting you." The girl said her long hair swinging as she advanced towards us.

"Abigail, I have a visitor here that I need you to attend to while I visit King Arburan about a matter." He said gesturing to me.

"Of course King Mandez," She said and bowed. I stood up and followed the elves off of the platform and looked up as the Pegasus took off and the landing pad transformed into a gazebo.

"So what's your name?" I asked looking at the elves. The boy turned around. I hadn't been able to get a good look at him before but now I could. he had long brown hair that hung half way down his back and the front parts were gathered and pulled back by a fishtail braid at the back. He also had dark brown eyes. I immediately thought that he was cute.
"I'm Nick and that's my partner Abigail." He nodded to the girl who also turned around. She had the same kind of hair style as Nick.

"What's your name?" She asked smiling. She looked nice enough.

"Kira," I said "By the way why do you have different braids on the back of your heads?
"They symbolize what your position is in the city. We are warriors so we have a fishtail braid." Nick said then turned around.
"Also where are we?" I knew it was a dumb question but I was so confused.

"You're in Eldenwood, home of the elves," Abigail said as we stopped in front of a house made of the same gray rock as all the other buildings in the city.

"This is your room for your stay. Inside will be a change of clothes and we will come to get you when the king is ready for you." At that, Abigail and Nick turned around and started to walk away but I did notice that Abigail was limping and had a bandage on the top of her arm.
