||Chapter 12 - Block||

Lyra's POV

I messed with the end of my sleeve, trying my best to concentrate.

Meditating? How is everyone able to do this so freely without any problems? How was Aang able to enter the Spirit World or speak to his past lives so easily?

I huffed in annoyance, my brows furrowed as I tried to concentrate.

"Lyra, don't be so tense." I heard Wane tell me with a shuffle of his shoes. I felt someone kneel behind me and repositioned my shoulders.

"Wane, I'm trying to concentrate."

"You can't force yourself to concentrate- You have to slowly ease yourself into it." He told me and I sighed heavily, mentally rolling my eyes.

I shook my head and stood up, staring down at him.

"Look. I appreciate the help but- I don't think with you two being here is helping me." I told them and Hotaru narrowed her eyes, "But you asked us to stay-!"

"Now she is asking us to go, Flame Brains." Wane told her before she unleashed her wrath upon me. The two got up and walked to the door, Wane sent me a small nod of encouragement and I smiled, glad to have his support. Hotaru will come around shortly, she always did.

I sat back down cross-legged and rested my forearms on the top of my thighs, taking a deep breath and relaxing my shoulders.

You can do this, Lyra.

---

Lyra sat there for a good half hour, trying her best to do whatever she was supposed to be doing. But no luck is what came to her.

In the usual city of Shima, a riot was about to outbreak in front of their very doorstep.

"Where is the Firelord?!"

"Why hasn't she outlawed those scoundrels?!"

Left and right people shouted making the guards brains scramble with jumbled up information- Not knowing what either was saying. But it all had to do with the Firelord.

"Firelord Lea is currently in a meeting- Please calm down."

"No! All she has ever done is being in a meeting! This Nation has gone to hell ever since Firelord Zuko passed away!" A woman yelled and many yelled in agreement. The guard looked to his buddy, nervously nodding at him to go and get the Firelord or at least someone who could diminish their hatred.

"Alright, alright! Everyone calm down, we will get someone down here to resolve whatever issues you all are having-" He was caught off guard when a bright light expelled from the other side of the city. The beam soared high into the sky that many for miles could see it from their very eyes. People were taking pictures, eyes wide in surprise and amazement. The beam of light had stopped the people right in their tracks- Not knowing what it was or what or who it came from.

Mr. Min bursted into the room, eyes wide in worry when he was blinded by the light, having no choice but to block his eyes so he didn't become permanently blind.

Sat on the floor was Lyra- Hair flying upward with eyes bright in color. Looking almost possessed but unmoving. No one from the doorway could see her fully, they were more preoccupied on trying to not get blinded.

Rows of past lives whizzed past her- Their eyes a lit and expressions firm and prominent amongst their other features. Lyra didn't know any of their names- And yet she could recognize all of them and name them off if asked. It came naturally to her- Especially once it became to the oldest of Avatars.

The first ever Avatar whizzed past her and evaporated into particles before reappearing in front of her. Korra stood idly by him, arms folded while his hands were on his hips. They looked to one another before their eyes went back to Lyra. Nothing was said, but through action Lyra could tell they were communicating.

How did she get here? All she remember was closing her eyes and trying to clear her mind from any thoughts- Which only created more thoughts and backfired on her. What was going on?

The two past lives walked towards her, each hand resting up her right and left shoulder firmly. Their mouths opened and in sync with the words of hundreds of voices reached her ears.

"Block. Strike down the barricade." The words were vague. But Lyra couldn't question them as she was frozen in place, unable to move any limbs. Her eyes were the only things on her body that could move. Even so, she was brought back to the real world with a sudden push of the two past lives, pushing her backwards.

Lyra fell flat on her back and the light diminished. Lyra groaned in pain, feeling exhaustion take its toll on her for unknown reasons.

She cracked an eye open, her eyes stinging with tears of pain. 'What just happened?' She asked herself.

"Lyra!" She heard someone yell but her hearing was clogged and any sound in the room or house or even outside was hard to hear. She felt herself being helped up into a sitting position with her legs outstretched in front of her. She rubbed at her eyes, trying to wipe away any stray tears and her sleepiness.

"What just happened?" Hotaru asked her grandfather, eyes narrowed. Grandpa Min leant against the doorway, his brows furrowed in worry for his granddaughter's best friend.

"I do not know, I-I have never seen anything like that happen before." Lyra blinked rapidly, her eyes still adjusting to the light of the room. She glanced up, seeing a prominent hole in the roof and debris around them.

"What...?"

"Do you need to lie down?" Wane asked her and she shook her head. He muttered some curse word under his breath, not wanting to swear loudly in front of adults. "...We really should have stayed in here!"

"Dear, don't be yourself up about it. We had no clue what was going to happen." Mrs. Min told Wane in attempts to comfort his guilt filled mind.

"Mommy." Said Lin, her voice smaller than the usual highly spirited loud one. Mrs. Min looked to her daughter, seeing the other twin had her back towards them.

"It's alright, Lyra is okay-"

"We know but Mommy... Why are those eyes glowing?" Mrs. Min went over to where Sue was, stopping her spot at the sight of the statue they kept in their garden of Avatar Roku. Fear striked her body like a bolt of light in, shivers running up and down her spine at the unsettling sight.

"Oh my..." She trailed off, having no others words to describe what she felt.

The statue's eyes were glowing a faint red with red liquid pouring out of the sockets of the supposedly solid statue.

Statues of past Avatars around the world showed the same fate- Leaving no answers to more questions. Avatar Lyra- A Non-Bender, her story was only just getting started.
