Chapter 11: A Girl of Many Talents
I walked into gym class and tucked the necklace Dick gave me into my shirt. I looked at the board to see what we were going to do today. Gymnastics. I walked over and stood next to Dick.
"May the best one win." I smirked.
Our gym teacher walked in. He called a few people up to perform and they were okay. He called Dick up, and he -of course- performed a perfect routine. It was going ot be hard to beat that.
"Beat that." Dick whispered as he walked past me.
"(L/n), you're up."
I walked up and took a deep breath. I went through my routine, and by the end I was out of breath. The class was silent before bursting out into applause. I smiled and walked up to Dick.
"I think I beat that." I smirked.
I sat in choir boredly with Dick. Right now people were just going up and singing.
"(Y/n), perhaps you'd like to sing next," my head shot up and I could hear Dick snickering, "the song is already cued."
I slowly walked to the front of the room and looked at the music. I was relieved to find that I already knew the song. I nodded to the teacher and waited for the song to start.
"Think of me, think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me, once in a while
Please, promise me you'll try
When you find that once again you long
To take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment
Spare a thought for me
We never said "our love was evergreen"
Or "as unchanging as the sea"
But if you can still remember,
Stop and think of me
Think of all the things
We've shared and seen
Don't think about the way
Things might have been
Think of me, think of me waking
Silent and resigned
Imagine me trying too hard
To put you from my mind
Recall those days, look back on all those times
Think of the things we'll never do
There will never be a day
When I won't think of you
Flowers fade, the fruit of summer fade
They have their seasons, so do we
But please promise me that sometimes
You will think
Ah Ah Ah Ah
Ah Ah Ah Ah
Of me."
The class stared at me wide eyed and open mouthed.
"How can you sing like that?" Dick asked whispering.
"I practice a lot when I'm alone." I smiled.
