"Mimic!" Crystal yelled as she ducked from an oncoming blow to the head. Her wings darted out and knocked several men off their feet and through the windows behind them. Four more guards advanced on the sixteen year old, all holding guns up towards her with smirks on their faces. She rolled her eyes at their attempts and thrust her right hand forward, watching with her own smirk as the guns began to break. The first burst into flames, darting from the weapon onto the guard, setting him alight and running.
One of the other guards tried to shoot, only to hit the blonde with water before the gun jammed and back fired on him, sending him tumbling out of the already broken window. Just as a third man tried to fire his weapon vines crawled up from the ground and surrounded him, snapping the gun and pinning him to his spot. The final guard was a female who had her eyes dating between the tied up male and blonde female. Before she could run a gust of wind swept her off her feet, carrying her into the air before dropping her outside the window, sending her falling to her death.
Suddenly a throwing knife skimmed the green eyed girls head, causing her to jump slightly as it embedded itself into another guards head behind her. "So much for just knocking them out." Ruby muttered, kicking someone else in the stomach sending them through the window. In her hand the blue eyed female held a gold and blue sceptre, the gem at the end glowing brightly. She spun it once in her hand before holding it like a baseball bat and hitting an Agent in the face with it.
"Is that it?"
"Must be, it looks like the pictures." Crystal nodded and ran towards her friend, holding her arm out for her to copy the wings. However when Ruby grabbed the green eyed girls arm instead of mimicking the wings she turned them both invisible, slipping her hand down to hold Crystal's wrists instead of her arm. The pair fell silent for a few moments until two people stormed into the room, one male and one female, both with brown hair and neither looking happy. They surveyed the damage as another Agent hurried into the room and began cutting the vine tied man free.
"What could have happened here?" The male questioned, turning to his female colleague who shrugged her shoulders before looking down at the tablet she held in her hands.
"By the looks of the security cameras we were infiltrated by two blonde females but we can't get a match on them, they didn't look at any of the cameras once. They were last seen in this room but just disappeared into thin air."
"So no facial recognition?"
"Out of the question, sorry Coulson but looks like we were caught out this time."
"Don't worry Hill, did they take anything before they vanished?"
"Sir!" The Agent who was cutting his friend free exclaimed, leaving the guard as his shook off all the vines. "The sceptre retrieved from New York is no longer here!" Coulson and Hill exchanged glances before the man grumbled.
"Hill call in the Avengers, we need to track down whoever has the sceptre and retrieve it once more."
"Who do you think could have taken it?" Agent Hill asked as the group of four left the room once more in a hurry. Once Crystal and Ruby couldn't hear anymore of the conversation the straight haired girl made them visible once more before quickly copying the younger girls wings before she could pull away.
"They're already onto us!" Crystal said as they walked towards the smashed window, the elder girl dropping from the ledge before spreading her mimicked wings.
"No they just know it's two girls with blonde hair." She countered. "Besides by the time they work out anything we'll be in Sokovia."
"I guess you're right." Another silence fell over the pair as they flew amongst the clouds, Crystal occasionally darted through clouds with a large smile on her face. Ruby watched as the younger girl laughed aloud when she shot up through a cloud and out of sight. It was rare the two had so much fun while on a mission, they were serious things and the only exceptions were long missions where they had to blend into society before striking. The green eyed girl clutched the sceptre tighter in her hand.
"Hey R, come look at this quick!" Miss Evans called, causing Miss Jackson to zoom into the clouds herself. Once up there another soft smile passed both girls lips. The sun was setting to them as they were above the clouds, the rays dimmer than when they were any other time of the day in the clouds. A sense of peacefulness washed over the atmosphere, both girls feeling calm before the chaos of work could begin again, even though they were used to getting job after job.
"Come on C, we need to be under the clouds to see where we're going." Ruby spoke up after several minutes of silence. The curly haired female nodded in agreement and allowed herself to drop below the clouds once more, soon followed by the seventeen year old. Together the girls zoomed into the distance, weaving around buildings in their way. Every once in a while they would pass by a plane, making sure to fly above or below it so no one could see them and question. Simple stealth techniques.
They flew for hours, making their way from America to Europe with ease. Peacefulness continued to travel with the girls, keeping them calm before they walked into the storm that was HYDRA. The large compound that Strucker and HYDRA had claimed in Sokovia soon came into view, the stone structure dark and looming over the city below. It was nearly midnight local time, meaning that most were asleep. Crystal and Ruby landed on the roof, the wings Ruby had mimicked disappearing instantly.
"And we're back." Crystal sighed as Ruby swung the sceptre in her hands a few times.
"Let's get this over with, I want sleep before we start the new assignment tomorrow, what ever that assignment happens to be."
