It took me a second to adjust my eyes, only to find two ocean blue eyes staring back right into mine.

His ragged breath fanning my face.

His close presence and his mesmerizing eyes got me lost for a moment.

He was smirking, obviously noticing my state.

"So Renée, let's begin."

Get a hold of yourself idiot!

I set my hands on his arms which were currently caging me.

Maybe he thought I was gonna make a move on him because he came closer.

But, you know what happens when an asshole with too big of an ego has his head stuck up in his ass?

It's simple.

He gets his hairy ass kicked. Hard.

And that's exactly what I did.

Kicking him in the shin, I ducked under his arms and made a classic move of mine.
I jumped and turned in a circle dramatically and kicked him behind his head.

Sounds cool right? Well, it better sound cool, because I worked my ass off to learn that one bit.

He was so close to the wall that my kick made him splat on the wall.

I was waiting with my arms crossed for him to gain his balance.
And when he did, he turned around to give me the deadliest glare anyone could muster.
I admit it would have been pretty scary only if he wasn't making out with the wall a second ago.

Well Damien White, how was that for a start?

Now I remember why the name Damien sounded so familiar to me. He was the arrogant bastard whom I first saw when I woke up in this place.

"Wrong choice newbie, wrong choice. You definitely will regret this." he growled out.

I smirked and rolled my eyes at him.

"Yeah, so what were we supposed to do? Get an understanding?"I asked in a bored tone.

"Yeah right, as if that's gonna happen. Look I don't know what we are supposed to do but just don't irritate the shit off me."

I just stared at him with a blank face as he continued.

" Okay, so first rule is that I don't like nosy people, so don't ask me things which will make me lose my shit."

He was easily one of the most attractive guys I had ever seen. So naturally he had to be a jerk.

"Fair enough." I said." Make sure you do the same."

"Happily."

" So, how does this Imperial thing works?" I asked.

"You have shit ton of power." He said.

I waited for him to continue. But he didn't.

"That's it?"

He shrugged in response.

"What do you want me to explain? You just have to make big decisions and make sure you don't offend certain people and keep the people fooled into thinking they got what they want."he said.

" That sounds like what a douche politician would say." I replied.

"Well ,I guess you'll have to be a douche politician then. Being an Imperial is actually pretty simple if you follow that."

I rolled my eyes.

"Anything else to keep in mind?" I asked him.

"Yeah." He said

"What?"

"Keep out of my way." With that he turned around headed for the door.

"Wait." I called out to him." What is your elemental type?"

He didn't even turn around to respond.

Instead, I was splashed with a jet of water rights on my face.

My intended "fuck off" was spluttered out as something which  sounded like "FSPJG OFSR".

This fucker was gonna pay.

"OH. MY. GOD."

Apparently, all the girls over here die to get to hear a single word out of Damien. When Victoria got to know about my little encounter, she freaked out. She freaked out more so when she learned that he actually made a conversation, which it hardly was  I might add.

According to her, he hardly talks to  anyone, not even his own mother, whom as I later got to know, is also on the Board of Directors.

"So you are telling me that he was actually that close to you, and you didn't make a single move?" Victoria asked.

"Of course I made a move."  This got Victoria to get excited momentarily  " I kicked him in the groin."

"WHAT!?" Her shout made me go deaf.

I just looked at her blankly. I seriously didn't have it in me to give that kind of reaction to everything. Trust me, this girl is a bombshell of drama.

"Can we not talk about that jerk please. No, you know what let's not talk about anything at all."

"Stop being a spoil sport. Anyways you'll have to start training in like five minutes" she said glancing at her watch " We better get going."

I got up from the bench we were sitting on. We were in the canteen which I had not discovered until today. I had yet to get a complete tour of this huge place.

We couldn't practice near the woods so we found an empty shed area which was not in use anymore.

The shed was quite far from the main building. It was almost out of sight.

We strolled slowly towards the abandoned shed. I thought I saw something shining within the dark inside it. Maybe it was a metal scrap or something.

My senses were tingling again like it had when Damien was around, but it wasn't exactly the same. It made me more cautious.

I saw Victoria tense as well, as we neared the shed.

"Do you sense it?" I ask her.

When she looked back at me, her eyes were eerily glazed over.
She didn't reply right away.

"What?" I probed her again.

Just then I heard a low growl.

"Rogues."
