Do you sense it?" I ask her.

When she looked back at me, her eyes were eerily glazed over.
She didn't reply right away.

"What?" I probed her again.

Just then I heard a low growl.

"Rogues."

Another animalistic growl rang out of the dark shed. Louder this time.

What did she mean by rogues?

I caught a glimpse of two eyes shining in the dark. The creature was looming just at the edge of the shed. It slowly stalked out in the light and I finally could see that it was a jaguar.

From the corner of my eyes I saw a swift movement. I glanced to find a puma lurking right next to me. Victoria had shifted.

She let out a growl of her own. The jaguar came forward and both the beasts started staring each other down.

Then suddenly the jaguar leaped forward and so did the beast of Victoria. The met each other at the midway in air and became a spur of golden and black fur.

All this time I was standing in a crouch, ready for an ambush.

We were too far away from the Core to get some help any soon. I doubt anyone could even see us, especially when it was just after noon, when everyone was probably resting after lunch.

The jaguar was a shifter that's for sure. And I didn't think it was alone in the shed.

And I was right.

While the two furry beasts were busy snapping away at each other another figure came out of the shadows of the shed.

The guy who came out was in combat outfit, as if he was preparing for an attack.

He had a menacing smirk as he stared me down. I didn't waste time to send a glare back at him.

I waited for him to say something but he didn't. I glanced down at his clenched fist and saw them turn into what looked like lava rocks. There was lava seeping out of the cracks in rock hands.

I looked up to find his eyes smouldering. Literally.

Before even I could react, a jet of lava shot at me. I put up my arms in front of me, shielding my face instinctively.

I expected to feel unimaginable burning sensation.

But I didn't.

In fact I didn't even feel it. The lava just slid down me to the ground below. I put my hands down to look down at the ground to find a big black spot where the lava charred the earth.

Just like me, the guy who attacked looked at the charred spot in utter confusion.

I saw his arms move again and I knew he was gonna attack again. Even though I got to know his actions before hand I wasn't fast enough to react yet again.

The same scenario repeated itself. Just this time, I felt immense amount of anger surge through me. Anger that I couldn't control.

I got a familiar feeling as I felt my hands lit up my fire and slowly my whole form was lapping in flames. I clenched my fists in anger.

I saw the guy pale in front of me. He started staggering back.

I felt a different kind of power. I was irritated that this guy had the guts to attack me.

I didn't know what exactly I was doing but it felt as if I had done this  several times before. I directed my right hand towards him and fire shot out of my hand.

He shot a jet of lava of his own, rather he tried to. But my fire overpowered his and he fell back with the force.

I felt all the energy drain out of me. I started to loose my consciousness all of a sudden. My eyes started to dim as I fell on my knees.

I saw the blurred image of the guy who was now stumbling around covered in flames.

The last thing I saw was him falling and lying motionless, as I sinked into black oblivion.

I knowww!!! You have every right to kill me for this chapter... I can barely even call this a chapter.

But I have my reasons. I couldn't update as my exams have started yet again and I don't even have time to breathe. I took some time out to type this out...when I should be studying.

My mom would kill me if she finds out!
