IGNIS

The pic above is of Victoria^^.

Recap

And I succumbed to the thoughts of last night's occurrences once again.

I wished I could sleep and drift into that world of dark abyss.

Focus.

Breath.

Focus.

Bre- "AARGH!!"

"Shit!"

I quickly let go of his hand as I had accidentally dug my fingers into his bloody wound.

I was sitting in one of the rooms in the hospital wing with a guy who's arm was slit open with a knife during a combat practice.

I was supposed to be finding out what my elemental power is, and so far I got to know one thing for sure; my power is definitely not healing or sanitatem as they call it.

The guy I was supposed to be experimenting on had an expression that was jumping from glaring at me and wincing in pain as he clutched the bloody cut on his arm.

"Nope. Not at all. Let's get you out of here before you manage to kill somebody."

Before I could say anything else I was dragged by the person who spoke, who by the way was Victoria, my incharge.

I shrugged out of her hold and adjusted my jacket as I glared at her. I never appreciated touching, especially if unannounced.

"Geez!" she said.

Victoria wasn't an elemental. She claimed to be a shapeshifter.

Apparently shapeshifters guard the area and also are incharges for training the Elementals.

Don't think that I took all this in very easily. In fact I didn't know what to make out of all of it, so I decided to just roll along and hope that someday I'd be accustomed to whatever this shit is.

I didn't know where we were heading but I followed her wordlessly.

I had already tried to check if I was a magneticus and as obvious failed terribly.

I couldn't even get a nail to move. Instead I spent my time to dodge around the metals the other trainees sent swirling in the air.

"Are we supposed to do this the entire day?"

I was starting to get irritated. I had already spent the whole morning trying to find out what type of elemental I was and I wasn't even close to figuring it out.

Victoria turned and started walking backwards.

"We'll be doing this until we find out what's your type, even if it takes a month to do so. But for now we might stop for lunch if you want."

Even though we both had been up since six in the morning she hadn't had a morsel of food.

She had even refused to join me for breakfast.

"No, I'm good."

I didn't wanna look too weak to keep up with her.

"I'm hungry. Care to join me?"

"Whatever"

But I went with her of course.

I stopped to glance through the menu. As I was looking through the prices , I realised that I didn't have a single penny on me.

"I didnt see you before around here. Are you a new trainee?" the guy behind the counter asked.

His face was almost fully covered with freckles and red tufts of hair was sticking out of his cap. He honestly looked like a scrawnier version of Ron Weasley.

I nodded.

"Then you won't have to pay."

I raised one eyebrow questioningly.

"Trainees don't have to pay for anything until they get some job over here."
He smiled.

"So, what can I get you?"

"Some fried chicken, fries and coke."

"Sure."

He shouted the order to the rest of the staff and got busy with the other customers crowding the counter.

I looked over at where Victoria was sitting. She had already refused to get something for her, stating that she wasnt hungry anymore so I didn't bother asking again.

She probably knew that I had refused to eat due to my ego earlier.

After getting my order I walked back to Victoria and started eating without another word.

Suddenly I remembered something.

"What animal do you shift into?"

She looked up from her phone.

"Me? A panther. You saw me in my animal form before."

"What?"

But then I remembered that growl I had heard. And not just the growl, I had a vague memory of a huge black haze pouncing on me before I blacked out that day.

That was her?

"Yep that was me."

She had a bright smile directed at me, which was returned with a blank face of mine.

I had no intention of making friends, so I didn't see the need to be polite.

If there was one thing that I hated the most, it was socializing.

"Why did you attack me then?"

"I had to. Obviously I couldn't explain you the rules of elemental realm when there were cops after you right?"

I nodded.

"Right, the cops! What about them?"

"I don't know, the directors would have managed to lose their trail or something I guess."

After I was finished with my food, we headed to the fighting arena.

Fighting was a skill everyone had to learn here, regardless of what type of elemental you are.

Well at least this was something I could be somewhat confident in.

Victoria had to leave to get me some protective wearing.

As if I was gonna use them.

I was waiting in the bench near one of the fighting rings.
The arena was not an open ground, but it was a huge hall with lots of sunlight streaming in.

"You're the new girl right?"

I turned to look at a buff guy looking down at me with a mocking
look.

Well I had encountered a lot of overconfident bulls in street fighting who had underestimated me.

"Wanna have a match?"

I also loved stepping on their inflated ego.

"Why not? Come on."

"Alrighty then." He had a look in his eyes which clearly showed that he knew I would lose.

He beckoned over to a guy in the back to come over. The second guy was strong but not nearly as much as the first one.

"Why don't you fight me?" I asked the buff.

He looked at me as if I had gone off my rockers.

"You're either very dumb or you're blind."

By this time everyone in the arena had stopped whatever they were doing and started gaping at the unfolding scene as if waiting for a bomb to go off.

I guess he was the typical bully or something.

"Lets just say I'm both."

I had already moved into the ring and was waiting for him.

He looked as if he was gonna burst out laughing but came in anyways.
We started circling around waiting for one of us to strike.

I didn't make the first strike obviously.

Clearly there was no way I could win by sheer strength. I had to use my mind.

He came close and swung the first punch aiming straight for my face. But I was quick to dodge.

He might me stronger but I was faster.

I kept dodging his attempts hoping to wear him out and make a mistake.

And he did.

While he was aiming for my gut he left his face unprotected and I landed a punch right into his left eye with all my strength.

"Arghh"

He was taken by surprise and clutched his eye in pain. I took that opportunity to kick him in his knee making him go down.

I swung my leg over his laying form and started punching him repeatedly on the side of his face.

But he was quick to get back up. He flipped me over to the side.

This time I wasn't fast enough to dodge his hits.

By the time I fell to the ground my face was a bloody mess.

I was pretty sure I had a broken nose.

I squinted my swollen eyes to get a look at him grinning down at me.

He crouched to my level and whispered.

"Well I had expected more out of a murderer. Were you this cowardly when you killed your mother huh?"

That did it.

I let out a loud guttural growl.

I was shaking with not just anger but also with a strange and yet familiar power surging through me.

My attacker stumbled back in surprise. His eyes were wide and were fixed at my clenched fists.

I looked down to find them smoking. I had no control over my body anymore.Just like before.

And then I bursted in flames.

Literally.

I was covered in fire lapping around me. But I wasn't burning. In fact I didn't even feel the heat.

I looked around me as a girl started to go down on her knees and crossed her arms over her chest to make an X.

Slowly the others started to follow her lead until the whole arena was bowing to me. Even the guy I was fighting with.

Then all of them propped one knee up and extended one arm towards me and shouted in sync.

"IGNIS!"
