*Y/N's POV*

I had just been released from the hospital, and I was ready to head back to my apartment. I was still tired from that fight with Malos... I heard that Akari, Akame, and Haru went out shopping today. I've been getting text from my classmates, they were checking up on me. I would just tell them that I'm fine now. Which is true. Still upset about my dad... But, can't help that now. All I can do, is continue the hero course, and become a hero. A better hero then my mother and father. I was almost at my apartment, when I heard some commotion. I saw someone holding Akari by her throat, against a wall. Dark aura was surrounding me. I walked up to the guy that was holding Akari by her throat and tapped his shoulder. He turned his head towards me.

???: "Huh? What do you want kid? Don't you see I'm busy?"

Y/N: "Get your hands off of her."

He dropped Akari and she started to get her breath back. He got in my face, putting his hand on my shoulder.

???: "And what are you going to do?"

I grabbed his arm.

Y/N: "This."

I began shocking him. I didn't do it for long. I pushed him back and he fell on his ass.

Y/N: "Stay away from her, or next time I'll make it worse for you."

He got up and ran away. I held my hand towards Akari.

Y/N: "What a wuss."

She took my hand and hugged me.

Akari: "Thanks."

Y/N: "Seems like I'm always saving you."

She stopped hugging me and smiled. We walked into my apartment and saw that Akame was already in here.

Y/N: "Need help with groceries?"

Akame: "We should be good now, thanks. It's good to see you back."

Y/N: "Thanks."

C/N: "Welcome back."

I saw my clone sitting on the couch.

Y/N: "Thanks..."

Akari: "Oh! Haru said he had something for you. He should be in his room."

Y/N: "Really? Thanks for letting me know."

I made my way to Haru's room. I opened his bedroom door and saw him sitting on his bed. He smiled at me as I sat next to him.

Y/N: "Haru, you have something for me?"

Haru: "Yeah! Here! I found this while cleaning my room!"

Haru took a book out and handed it to me. I looked at it.

Y/N: "The Records of the Four Cardinal Weapons? Wonder what this could be about."

I was about to open it, but I decided not to.

Y/N: "Hey, Haru, wanna go eat some lunch with the others?"

Haru: "Yes!"

*Timeskip*

We finished eating lunch and I went into my room. I had left the book in here. I picked it up and opened it. 

Y/N: ""The Waves of Apocalyptic Catastrophe... To save the world form the Waves, five heroes will be summoned from another world." Seems cool. "Each of the four of five heroes wield a characteristic weapon: a sword, a spear, a bow, or a shield." What about the fifth hero?"

I looked through the pages about the other heroes. Spear Hero, Sword Hero, Bow Hero, and Shield Hero. I made it to the last hero page.

Y/N: "Elemental Hero?"

It was blank... The book began to shine. The pages were turning on their own. Everything got too bright for me and it felt like I was falling. No... I was falling. I fell down next to someone. 

???: "We did it! The summoning was a success!"

Y/N: "Where the hell am I...?"

I looked around and saw some people wearing some weird costume. I looked to my left and saw four other guys. They looked confused as well. 

???: "O brave heroes, please save our world!"

???: "Excuse me?"

Y/N: "What...?"

We all stood up. I looked at my left hand and saw a ring with a F/C gem on it. Where the hell did this come from...?

???: "The hell is this? A shield?"

Y/N: "Cooler than a ring..."

???: "What do you mean by that?"

???: "There is a long and complicated story behind this, but we've summoned you Five Cardinal Heroes here using an ancient ritual."

Wait, we are the five heroes of legend? What the hell did I take today...?

???: "Our world teeters on the brink of destruction. We beg you, O brave heroes! Please help us!"

Shield Guy: "I guess I could hear you out, at least."

Sword Guy: "I refuse."

Bow Guy: "Likewise."

Spear Guy: "We can go back to our world, right? We'll talk about your problems after that."

The guy with the sword points his sword at the guys that summoned us here. 

Sword Guy: "Don't you guys feel any guilt at all for bringing us here without our consent?"

Bow Guy: "And if you send us home as soon as peace is restored, we'd have worked for nothing."

Spear Guy: "How willing are you to accommodate us? Depending on your answer, we might end up becoming your enemies instead."

Y/N: "Speak for yourselves."

I see the shield guy look at me.

Y/N: "Let's hear them out, not be assholes."

???: "F-First, we'd like you to have an audience with the king of our country, Melromarc."

He started walking towards us.

???: "You can negotiate your reward after that, so please..."

Sword Guy: "Fine, I guess."

Bow Guy: "I suppose we could consider their offer."

Spear Guy: "Not like our demands are gonna change, no matter who we talk to."

They all walked away, besides the shield guy.

Y/N: "Dick heads, come on shield guy."

We were walking up some spiral staircase. 

Bow Guy: "We really are in another world, huh?"

Y/N: "Yeah, weird isn't it?"

I see the shield guy look out a window. 

Shield Guy: "Such a pleasant breeze... It's like the typical sales pitch in all those tour brochures."

Bow Guy: "Wait, have never traveled out of Japan before?"

Sword Guy: "Going by the breeze outside, this place probably has your standard Mediterranean climate."

Y/N: "I've never been outside of Japan either."

Bow Guy: "Really? You too?"

Y/N: "Yeah. Let's keep going."

We went all of the way up the stairs. We walked down a red carpet and saw the King. 

King: "So these men are the Five Cardinal Heroes of the ancient legend? I am the king of Melromarc, Aultcray Melromarc XXXII. Heroes, name yourselves."

Sword guy went first.

Ren: "Amaki Ren, sixteen years old, high schooler."

Spear Guy went next.

Motoyasu: "I'm Kitamura Motoyasu. Twenty-one, and a college student."

Bow Guy went next.

Itsuki: "I suppose I'm up next. Kawasumi Itsuki, seventeen years old, and a high schooler."

My turn.

Y/N: "My name is L/N Y/N, seventeen years old, and a hero in training, also a high schooler."

Shield Guy's turn.

Shield Guy: "And lastly, me. I'm..."

King: "I see. Ren, Motoyasu, Itsuki, and Y/N, huh?"

Did he forget about the shield guy...?

Shield Guy: "Y-Yo, King, aren't you forgetting me?"

King: "Hmm? Oh, forgive me."

Itsuki: ""Yo, King"? You mustn't be so disrespectful."

Shield Guy: "Should I call him His Highness, then? That's too formal, no?"

King: "King is fine."

Naofumi: "Well, whatever works. My name is Iwatani Naofumi. I'm twenty, and a college student."

King: "Now... I suppose I owe you an explanation."

Naofumi: "You're ignoring me?"

King: "My country, Melromarc, and the entire world is headed toward destruction."

I kinda spaced out during this. Pretty much the world is fucked because of some apocalyptic prophecy, which has "Waves" that will bring the world to ruin. Also, every country has an ancient dragon hourglass, which predicts when the arrival of the Waves will happen. The first wave happened before we were summoned. They managed to fend it off. But, they might not be able to when the next Wave comes. As long as there are Waves, the hourglass will keep track of them. Right now, we have less than a month until the next Wave.

King: "We underestimated the Waves. We realized once we actually experienced one that only the Five Cardinal Heroes could counter them. And so, we followed the legend and summoned you five. We have no time to lose!"

This seems familiar. Like it's directly from that book.

Ren: "We get the gist of it now. Anyway, surely you didn't summon us expecting us to save you for free."

???: "Of course, once you repel all the Waves, we shall reward you handsomely."

He looks weird...

Motoyasu: "Will you, now? Well, as long as we have your word."

Ren: "We'll work with you provided you don't turn on us. But don't think for a moment that you can tame us."

Itsuki: "Exactly. We can't have you looking down on us."

Naofumi: "R-Right..."

Those three seem cocky.

King: "I trust we have an agreement. Then heroes, you should all check your statuses."

Naofumi: "Wait, what's a status?"

Itsuki: "Uh..."

Ren: "What's wrong with you guys? It should've been the first thing you noticed in this world. Don't you see an icon in the corner of your field of vision?"

I looked down and saw it. 

Naofumi: "You're right. There it is."

Ren: "Try focusing on it."

I focused on it and saw some menu pop in front of me. It said my name and information about me. I noticed that it said that I was level one.

Itsuki: ""Level 1"? That's worrying."

Motoyasu: "Yeah. No telling if we can fight like this." 

Y/N: "Depends on what we run into."

Naofumi: "What's all this, anyway?"

???: "Status Magic, an ability exclusive to the heroes."

Ren: "So what are we supposed to do?"

Y/N: "Most likely go out and adventure. Upgrade our weapons and level up."

???: "Yep, pretty much."

Y/N: "For me, I don't even have a weapon."

King: "For you, the ring helps you upgrade yourself. Your weapon is basically yourself."

Y/N: "I'm a weapon...?"

???: "You control Elements. Meaning it is within you."

Y/N: "My Quirk?"

King: "Your what?"

Y/N: "Nevermind. But, the title of Elemental Hero, I don't really understand it."

King: "In the legend, the Elemental Hero was considered god like."

Naofumi: "A god?"

King: "But was also considered the devil, because of his powers."

Y/N: "I see. Also, can't we just wield other weapons until ours are usable?"

Ren: "We can figure that out as we go. Anyway, it looks like we ought to train ourselves."

Itsuki: "We'll have to level up as much as we can."

Naofumi: "Then if the five of us form a party..."

???: "One moment, heroes. You will each recruit and adventure separately."

Itsuki: "And why is that?"

???: "It is said that the legendary weapons repel one another by nature. If you work together, it apparently hinders their development."

Naofumi: "He's telling the truth, huh?"

King: "The sun is about to set. Rest up tonight, and set forth tomorrow. In the meantime, we'll gather the best of the best to form your parties."

A brown haired girl wearing a dress walked up to us.

Girl: "We've prepared rooms for you. Please come this way.

*3rd Person POV*

(Somewhere In The Castle)

???: "I hear the Five Cardinal Heroes have been summoned."

???: "All five of them, in this country?"

???: "Are they sure about this?"

???: "Wait, that means the Elemental Hero and the Shield Hero is also..."

*Y/N's POV*

We were brought to a room. I was leaning against a wall with my hands in my pockets.

Motoyasu: "I guess you get special treatment when you're heroes of legend. The girl who showed us here was a cutie pie, too."

Itsuki: "And our dinner was sumptuous, though it did taste unusual."

I began to space out. I wanted to find a way home. I wanted to get back to Akari. I just fixed things, saved Haru. But, now I'm stuck here. I'm worried about them. I don't want anything bad to happen to them while I'm stuck here. What about these four? Aren't they worried about their families? It kinda doesn't seem like it. I don't mind helping the king, I am meant to be a hero after all.

Naofumi: "And I can't believe the three of you played games that are just like this world. Why am I the only one unfamiliar with this stuff."

Y/N: "Makes two of us."

Naofumi: "Really?"

Y/N: "I was too busy helping others, didn't have the time to play games."

The other three were looking at Naofumi.

Naofumi: "Huh? What is it?"

Itsuki: "W-Well, I just thought it might be because you're the Shield Hero."

Motoyasu: "Oh, you too?"

Ren: "It's only natural."

Naofumi: "Wh-What're you guys talking about? Is there something wrong with the shield?"

Motoyasu: "All right. Big Bro Moto--"

Y/N: "Basically, no one chooses the shield character. Even I know that much."

Motoyasu: "It's for losers. No high-level gamers play it."

Naofumi: "Nooo! How about in your worlds?"

Ren: "Sorry."

Itsuki: "Likewise."

Naofumi flopped over.

Motoyasu: "How's the terrain here?"

Ren: "Very similar to what I'm familiar with."

Itsuki: "Each weapon has its own ideal hunting ground, so let's spread out."

I know the shield characters don't tend to be the best, but I have faith in Naofumi. I stopped leaning against the wall and walked away.

Y/N: "I'm gonna go to sleep."
