I rolled my neck and stretched my body, excited for the training ahead. Most everyone was wearing their new cold weather hero outfits since the change in weather. My costume was still the same as before.

"Won't you get cold with your arms exposed?" Ashido asked as she poked at the skin between my sleeves and gauntlets.

Giggling I shook my head, "no, if I get cold I can just warm myself up with my quirk. The one we should worry about is Hagakure."

"Yeah aren't you cold?" Jiro asked looking at the invisible girl's gloves and boots.

"Totally freezing!" Hagakure answered in her typical cheery tone.

"I like your cape," I told Momo as I ran my fingers over it.

"Thank you," Momo smiled. "It's very warm."

"And soft," I added with a chuckle.

"All of our costumes have changed considerably since the school year began," Iida commented.

"I can't believe you made it through the summer in yours, Iida," Sato said adjusting his mask.

"You've got a new look too Kacchan!" Midoriya exclaimed.

"Huhh?!" Katsuki wheeled around to face him. "If you've got a problem with it then say it to my face you damn nerd!"

"Your costume must guard against the cold while generating heat," Midoriya began to ramble. "Since your sweat glands serve as wearing it makes sense, what a great modification."

"I don't want your praise!" Katsuki ground his teeth.

"I think you look cool," I smiled at him.

"Shut up damn Snowflake," Katsuki snapped irritated, but it only made me giggle.

"You've got the most upgrades," Ojiro said to Midoriya. "Those gloves are recent right?"

"I need to to keep up with my abilities, but yeah the gloves are pretty awesome," Midoriya explained. "This is actually my second pair. Hatsume modified them so they could take more of a beating."

Suddenly Uraraka exclaimed, "get out!" Startling me, making Katsuki laugh at how I jumped. I smacked him on the chest for teasing me.

"Slacking off are we?" Monoma said as he and his class arrived. "Is that your way of underestimating us?"

"They're here!" Kirishima said. "We aren't underestimating anyone, just excited!"

"That so?" Monoma questioned. "Well things are going our way now. Listen up class A! Today is the day we settle this rivalry!" He began to grow more excited as he showed off a survey from the culture festival. "We won by two votes! You've been hogging the spotlight since school started but those days are over! Today is A vs B our first joint training! We're gonna- urghh..." he was suddenly cut off when Shota wrapped his binging cloth around his throat to get him to stop talking.

"Be quiet," Shota said as he pulled the cloth back, sending Monoma sputtering.

"We've got a special guest today," Vlad said.

"So don't make fools of yourselves," Shota said.

As the rest of the class began to wonder, an excited bubble filled my throat, could it be?

"He's hoping to transfer to the hero course," Shota continued, "it's Hitoshi Shinso from class C of general studies."

A delighted squeak escaped my lips and Shoto looked at me with a curious look. I smiled brightly at him which made him smile back. I was so happy to see that Shinso was getting his chance to prove himself for the hero course.

"So that explains the look you gave me in the hall," Midoriya said.

The rest began to chatter too. "That's Mr. Aizawa's binding cloth right?" "He can use brainwashing bright?" "Yeah I didn't stand a chance." "Midoriya got whammed too but managed to snap out of it." "That mask looks cool!" "Glad to have you man!"

"Go on, introduce yourself," Shota encouraged him.

"I've had encounters with some of you at the sports festival," Shinso began. "But don't think because we fought that we are friends. I'm not the type for displays of good sportsmanship that is. I'm so far behind you guys that I'm doing anything I can to catch up. I'm going to be a great hero someday and use my quirk to help people. Until then you all are just obstacles for me to overcome. I'm not here to make friends."

I looked at Shinso and sighed, "that again?" He made eye contact with me and made a little 'hmph,' as if to sell it further.

The rest of the class began to clap stiffly.

"How delightful..." Uraraka said a bit nervously.

"Reminds me of pre-upgrade Todoroki," Sero said looking over.

"Really?" Shoto asked while Sero nodded. He looked to me for confirmation and I laughed and shrugged a bit.

"I like this guy," Monoma rubbed his chin.

"Right," Shota said. "Let's get to it then."

"Battle training time!" Vlad said as he brought out some boxes. "It's a series of matches pitting class A against class B. The battle field will be this section of athletic field gamma."

The field was an industrial area. I was interested to see how the matches would go in this environment with so many places to hide. There would be plenty of blind spots to sneak up on our opponents.

Vlad continued by saying, "both classes will split into teams of four and square off against another team."

"Four person teams? That should be fun," a girl from class B said.

"With Shinso added we've got 41 people," a boy from class B said. He has a beastly look about him. "How do we account for him?"

"Shinso will be participating in two matches," Shota answered. "Joining class A for one and class B for another. Meaning two of the matches will be five versus four. "

"That's not fair for the four person teams!" Hagakure exclaimed.

"The four students who have to incorporate Shinso are actually at a disadvantage," Shota sighed. "Because of his inexperience, you'll have the numbers but it's also a handicap."

"The scenario this time is 'heroes trying to capture villains!' So think of the opposing team as villains. Capture four of them to win," Vlad explained.

"Villains do the team up thing too huh?" A girl with a mushroom on her head asked. It gave me a flash back to the league of villains and to Chisaki.

Their faces flashed through my mind, the final one being All For One.

I felt slightly dizzy but Shoto put a hand on my elbow, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, fine," I nodded and smiled letting my anxiety fade.

"Each team base has a cute little 'lock-em-up' prison. The second someone is thrown in the cage they are counted as captured.

"The most efficient strategy would be to disable the enemy near our own base," the beastly boy commented. "But that's probably easier said than done."

"'Capture four opponents to win'? Is that what you meant by a handicap?" Katsuki asked.

"Yes," Shota nodded. "Not only is Shinso inexperienced, but the five person team still loses if four people are captured."

"So that team's gotta fight while carrying dead weight? Crap," Katsuki groaned.

"That's a nasty way to phrase it," Kirishima pointed out.

"He's not wrong," Shinso said. He looked over at me. Even though we trained together it was true that he had never been in a real battle, no matter how hard I went against him.

"Now time to draw lots," the teachers held up the boxes.

After everyone had drawn I found myself on a team with Midoriya, Uraraka, and Ashido. I smiled at the thought of working with them. Midoriya and I knew how to fight together effectively and Uraraka has helped boost me and my quirk in the past. I was excited to see what Ashido would add.

"Now you Shinso," Shota said calling him up.

"You'll join one team from each class," Vlad said.

Shinso drew and held up the balls. He was going to be on team one for class A and team five for class B. That meant my team would be going up against him. An excitement filled my chest at the thought.

"I know you said all that stuff, but I still wanna be friends!" Kirishima said when Shinso went to greet the team.

"Tell us how your quirk works," Tsu said while Koda leaned in to listen.

"With those looks you must be popular with the ladies," Kaminari rubbed his chin in thought.

"Thanks for having me," Shinso told the group. He then went over to his class B group.

"I like you already!" Monoma exclaimed. "You seem ready to crush that rotten class A into the dirt!"

"Please ignore him," another boy said.

"Thanks for having me," Shinso repeated.

"He's on class B's team," Uraraka said to Midoriya. "You'll get your rematch with him."

Midoriya pulled out his notebook, "okay. With Shinso all powered up, I'm excited to see how he fights!"

I giggled while Uraraka tried to figure out where the notebook came from. "Shinso is pretty good," I said. "I'm excited too."

Before the match started I hurried over to Shinso and put my hands on his shoulders. "Good luck!"

He looked a little surprised at first but then he looked away and messed with a piece of hair. "Thanks."

"You're gonna do awesome I know it!" I smiled. "And I can't wait until our match, but for now I'll be cheering you on."

A small smile formed at the corners of his lips but he quickly hid it, "I'll be going now."

I gave him a nod before going to sit next to Midoriya. They had a screen set up so we could watch the match. Already, he was writing notes in his notebook. Next to me, Shoto sat down and smiled.

"Teams start at their home bases, the time limit is 20 minutes per match," Shota explained. "If time runs out, the team with more remaining members wins."

"All Might and Midnight are here!" Ashido said as the two heroes made their way up the stairs.

"Which class are you betting on?" Midnight asked All Might.

"Hard to say," All Might said. "Class A has gotten strong dealing with disaster after disaster. But, judging from the data, class B has grown more. They've avoided trouble and worked on bringing out their potential.

"Now match one," Vlad started, their names came up on the screen.

Class A: Asui, Kirishima, Koda, Kaminari, Shinso.
Class B: Tsuburaba, Rin, Shishida, Shiozaki.

"Start!" Vlad exclaimed.

Watching the screen we began to see the teams work on a plan. Class A was already at a disadvantage since they had to take time to figure out how Shinso's quirk worked. Additionally how his mask worked. It was able to change how his voice sounded, making him imitate other people. I admit, it had worked on me a few times.

As they were going, looking for class B Shishida suddenly came barreling out of an alley in his full beast form. He let out a roar and grabbed Kirishima, immediately throwing him against the wall where Tsu was. The two of them went down in a pile of metal and pipes.

"We knew you'd be wary of Shiozaki!" Shishida shouted. "And we knew about Koda's search method.  Giving you time would've allowed Kaminari time to do what he's best at and we couldn't let that happen. A brutal head on attack was our best chance!"

On Shishida's back was Tsuburaba. He made a square shape with his hands and put it near his mouth. He blew air through it and made a solid air prison around Koda, trapping him.

"Now wreck them, Shishida!" A voice sounding like Tsuburaba called out.

"You got it!" Shishisa exclaimed before going very still.

"And we're done here!" The voice yelled.

"How are you speaking with my voice?" Tsuburaba asked, shocked.

"The mask!" Midoriya exclaimed.

Shinso adjusted the knob on the side of his mask, "persona chords." He drew on his binding cloth and went to use it, but he got trapped in a box of air.

"Too slow!" Tsuburaba said. He smacked Shishida on the head. "Wake up!"

"Huh?" Shishida shook his head as he came too.

"Now, wreck them for real," Tsuburaba said.

Just then Kaminari leapt into action. Tsuburaba jumped off of Shishida as he swiped at him. When he touched Kaminari he let off a shock of electricity before he was slammed into the wall.

Bolts danced around Shishida as he was being shocked. Above him a tongue shot out and wrapped around Tsuburaba. Shishida's reaction time was delayed because of the shock however.

"Got you!" Tsu exclaimed.

"Toss him in the slammer!" Kaminari shouted as Tsu took off.

Shishida recovered quickly and ran after Tsu leaving Kaminari confused. Kirishima and Koda went to stop him but Shishida quickly reverted to his normal from and skipped passed them. Before they could turn, Shishida was back in his beast form. He grabbed both Koda and Kirishima.

"You're the only one who can match my strength Kirishima!" Shishida yelled before throwing him high into the air. He continued to hold the struggling Koda.

Kaminari and Tsu tried to rescue him but Shishida was too quick for them. He ran off with Koda back to his base.

"That's two of yours for one of ours!" He yelled as he ran.

"We've got prisoners already!" Vlad announced. "Shishida and Tsuburaba's ploy paid off! Both teams have three members left but Class B has the psychological advantage! Will these fearsome moves from my precious students finally be the thing to put Class A in its place?"

"Hey you're totally biased!" Ashido exclaimed.

"Shishida's strength is wild!" Sero said.

"His sense of smell is no joke either," Sato said.

I could tell that Midoriya was focusing on Shinso. I was as well. His reaction time with the binding cloth was still slow. In training he was alright with it, but in battle...it definitely needs work.

Now both teams were working on a new strategy to win. I watched the screen, at Shiozaki. She could be a problem for Kaminari. Her vines could stop his electric power. When I fought her it was easy to burn away the vines, but for him it could be a mess. Not to mention she could easily trap all of them.

"There's three Asui's heading toward us!" Shishida suddenly exclaimed.

"Is he losing it?" A boy from class B asked. "She's not ectoplasm.

Suddenly it hit me and I looked at Midoriya, "hey do you think...?"

"Yeah I do," Midoriya nodded. We both remembered how Tsu could secrete a stinging poison from her body. She must've used that to cloak themselves.

"There's no way class B would be expecting that," I chuckled.

Shiozaki pulled on her vines and revealed that she had captured Kaminari. My breath caught, this could be bad.

"Look what you've won!" Kaminari pointed his fingers. "Since you three are together I'll just shock you all!"

Vine came forth in front of Shiozaki, protecting her, but also they began to wrap around Kaminari making a ball like prison around him.

Kaminari still had a grin and pointed his finger at Shishida. There was one of his discs attached to the boy. Quickly their other teammate, Rin who had his eyes covered with a paper, shot scales at the disc dislodging it from his friend.

"Close one," Rin said.

"More coming!" Shishida's voice called out. "Get those vines back up!"

"Very well, their positions?" Shiozaki asked before she too went rigid.

"Hey!" Rin shouted at her.

"That wasn't me talking just now!" Shishida shouted. He ran into the cluster of pipes to find Shinso. He gestured to Rin on where he should go.

"Pointing? Just tell me man! You're getting too paranoid. Is one over there or not?!" Rin asked but Shishida just continued in. He swore and held a hand out, using his scales to break the vines attached to Shiozaki.

However, when she was released, Tsu grabbed her with her tongue and pulled her up onto a building where she was hidden.

"There, she can't be hit by your scale bullets," Tsu said.

Rin went to attack her but Tsu hopped away and turned invisible and hid.

"Shishida! Asui is hiding somewhere!" Rin yelled. "Forget Shinso! Give me Asui's position!"

Shishida didn't respond to his teammate.

Tsu jumped from her hiding place and hit Rin feet first bringing him down.

Meanwhile, Shishida found Shinso, but he was ready for the beastly boy. His binding cloth was wrapped around a large pipe he brought down, busting the pipe and spraying hot water on Shishida.

Rin suddenly came flying in, "down Apocabeast!"

Shishisda didn't move, thinking it was a trick of Shinso's. They were both knocked out when they smashed heads.

"Pardon me," Tsu said. She was the one who had thrown Rin into Shishida.

"Wow," Sero said. "Shinso is one tough guy. He's definitely no handicap."

"Asui and Kaminari thought on their feet and made good use of Shinso's abilities," Midoriya said with an excited expression.

With that they were able to put them in the cage and win the match.
