Give up.
Nobody's POV.
"Hey Spidey..." White Tiger trailed off her sentence when she spotted him sitting on the edge of the hellicarrier with his feet dangling in the air.
He hadn't even acknowledged her presence, probably didn't even know of her existence at the moment.
White Tiger sighed, this had been happening for the past decade.
A bit less in recent years, but a common event none the less.
"Pete" she said, joining him on the ledge.
Spider Man started with a jump but relaxed when he saw who it was.
He had been so absorbed in his own thoughts that he hadn't noticed her arrival.
Tiger put a consoling hand on his shoulder.
The eyes of her mask adjusting to hers, slanted in concern.
He turned his head away from her scrutinizing gaze.
"Pete" she said again, a bit softly this time.
"I miss her."
"Pete, Stacey would want you to be happy and move on."
"I know but... I can't. Stace... It was like we were meant to be all along but we never got a chance to. And to top it all, now aunt May is gone as well."
White Tiger staid silent, knowing that there at more coming.
"I'm all alone Ava.
Sure I have you guys but...
Aunt was the only blood family I had left and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Stacey...
But I didn't even get the chance to tell her how much I loved her, didn't even get to say goodbye.
I even asked Doctor Srange for help but he said that her spirit is beyond reach even for him.
That there's some sort of barrier..."
"Pete!" Ava exclaimed cutting him off.
"You tried talking to the dead!?"
"I needed to know okay! I had to know if she had felt the same way! Tell her what I felt, how I still feel and actually get to say goodbye! I needed answers!" Peter exploded.
Ava stared at him wide eyed before looking down.
"I'm sorry... I just... I'd better go" Ava got up and left, leaving Peter to sulk in his own sorrows.
"Oh" Ava said stopping halfway to the door.
"You want some advice? Give up. She's dead Pete."
And with that she turned around and covered the distance separating her from the door before slamming it shut behind her.
Peter clenched his fists and then tore off his mask, throwing it down on the ground.
He then reassumed his spot on the ledge of the hell hellicarrier.
His longish brown curls swirling around him as the hellicarrier flew on and the wind tosled it about.
Give up.
Ava's words echoed in his head.
He glanced at his Spider Man mask on the ground beside him and then picked it up, running his fingers through the soft material as memories flooded his mind.
Give up.
Spider Man stood.
Ava was right.
Aunt May wasn't coming back and neither was Stacey.
It was time to get his life back on track.
Time to start anew.
